Large complex in the thick of a major cluster of restaurants and shopping centers in Leominster, right off Route 2. Their features include an all-day Sunday buffet, a hibachi room, a lounge, a semi-private room, bands on weekends, comedy on Wednesdays, trivia on Thursdays, and combination plates available at lunch and dinner. Reviews here don't respect the food here, but I think a) it's definitely nowhere near elite, b) it's gotten somewhat of a bad rap, and c) it seems to be improving. Much of it depends on what you order and whether it's from the buffet. -- Sunday Buffet: The number of stations has dwindled from 3 to 2 (plus a dessert area), but that actually helps with the turnover, which is critical for a buffet. Many of the items are either bland or have been sitting a while, but I can always find 2 or 3 items that still make it worth it. And at $20.95 for both quantity and variety, a very good value. -- Hot and Sour Soup: Thick but not gloppy, and a very pleasant mouthfeel and spiciness. -- Lobster Sauce: More great mouthfeel, plenty of gentleness and flavor, but much of that flavor is salt. -- Pork Fried Rice: Had on both combos and the buffet. Medium color, minimum flavor. -- Egg Rolls: Tried on the buffet and on combo plates. They're extra crisp, but still delicate and bendy, with a filling of mostly cabbage that's both crisp and moist. Pork and five spice flavor is very pronounced and very delicious. Even though I prefer a celery-based egg roll, this one is elite, bettering probably 80% of the celery versions out there. These are hand-made, not industrial. -- Sweet and Sour Chicken: The crisp fingers might be industrial. Not much meat or batter flavor, but the thin sauce has plenty, including a very sour component that outshines the sweet. That sauce is thinner than most, so while you lose the cling, you avoid a chemical tasting glop. Overall, good. Pro tip when having via the buffet: grab some pineapple chunks from the dessert station. -- Chicken Wings; From the buffet, these certainly look industrial (Weaver or Swanson), but they're actually pretty good if you settle into accepting that they're breaded and not the 5-spice-and-ginger kind. I'm on the fence. -- Peking Ravioli: Tried on the buffet. The Fireball-sized sausage in the center has some nice flavor, but the wrapper is too thick, stiff, and starchy for my liking. -- Teriyaki: Beef version tried on a combo, steaky but dry. Definitely needed the duck sauce for both moisture and flavor. Chicken teriyaki from the buffet was actually fresher and slightly juicy. -- Boneless Ribs: Thin, glazed with both red and clear, but ultimately a dry and needing the duck sauce. Some light char added a flavor dimension. -- Shrimp Fried Rice: Ordered as part of a combo, this arrived as a large pile, with fresh grains, not the darkest, but not lacking flavor. And definitely not lacking shrimp. I took a chance and this paid off hugely. Some good, some not so good, and some very good. Not enough good to get the 4, but no way is this a below-3 joint. read more

These people work hard but play fast and loose with the food and over sauce the crap out of it. My son has a bunch if allergies and they were not careful. They just move too fast and not enough staff members that are native to America. They have fun and work hard but are not careful and the food could have been better if it was not drowning in sauce. It's hit or miss. On some occasions the food is tasty and the ratios in the food are spot on (Kung Pao chicken - ratio of chicken to celery to nuts). Other times, it's way off. On new year's eve, along with everyone else, I ordered our usual items and I was disappointed when I brought it home. Most of it was luke warm, after sitting a while because it was precooked. The kung pao chicken was tasteless and there were no nuts. The rice was hard. I get the fact that it's busy that night, but then don't take any more orders after you feel your quality will decline. Love this place! I've been coming in since I was a kid with my parents. Staff has changed over the years; that is my only complaint. We miss Danny and Francis! They were amazing hibachi chefs. The staff were polite pleasant - many smiles. I was a big fan when Chopsticks first arrived in Leominster in the 80's - great quality and uniquely tasty food. Then owners changed several years ago and goodbye to much "taken for granted great food, great atmosphere and cleanliness". Went there today because I was told the ownership changed again and possibly is being run by former original staff. My hopes were high and I couldn't wait for the Sunday buffet. Well, so sorry to say it was disappointing. Although it was better than the last previous ownership; staff was nice and there were many cars in the parking lot, the food really lacked flavor and it was cooler than Luke warm in temperature. The overall flavors were bland, mostly everything tasted the same. My favorite sesame oil flavor wasn't in anything so I asked the waitress if I could have some as a condiment to sprinkle on my food. She told me they don't have any and they don't use it; only vegetable oil. I tell you, between getting rid of cooking in peanut oil (that's everywhere) and eliminating sesame oil you may as well not call it Chinese food. It's not looking good for us who have tasted the best, but I'm still hopeful someone will bring us some great Chinese food again. read more

Lo mein didn't have a lot of noodles, water tasted like it was from the sink. Environment seemed gloomy people were nice though. Stopped in here on Saturday night for a quick bite after a long day. The hibachi line was incredibly long so we settled for the regular menu in the dining room. Our waiter was amazing! He was so attentive and very kind. We ordered chicken lo mein, house fried rice, general gau's chicken, and spicy tuna maki. Everything tasted great! The tuna by far was the star of the show. My only dislike was the cleanliness of the bathroom. It was very busy so I know it can be hard to keep up with. Other than that our experience was great! Will definitely be back. read more

I haven't been in here for years and was in the area today and stopped in for lunch. It was yummy! I chose the buffet to try different items and really everything I had was delish. The only thing I would change is the ginger sauce for the scallion pancakes. I didn't notice any ginger floating and it reallyy has more of a soy sauce taste than ginger so I didn't use that. The waiter/waitress that came by were both very pleasant and attentive. The buffet, floors and tables were delightfully tacky FREE!! Vert clean and orderly which was nice. read more

Food was pretty decent when I ate there once. The bar/lounge could use a major remodel as it's far too small of a venue for the shows they host. Waiting over 20 minutes in line for a beer is ridiculous, and the end of the line where you pay and pickup drinks is also right next to the entrance to the room and the place where the waitresses walk in and out of the bar from, so it's a traffic nightmare. Watch out if you order takeout! I just discovered that they are charging you extra if you order takeout using their web site. That's right, ordering without tying up a real person on the phone while you order costs you more! That's like having Hannaford charge you extra to self-checkout. And, it's not insignificant. My order (around $33 priced using the takeout menu I just got in the mail) went up by $3.20 by using their web site. On top of that, they are giving you the "opportunity" to leave them a tip when you pay. Uh, no. As for the food, it was just okay. We went to Chopsticks last night, we heard there was a fantastic band Decade's by Dezyne they were awesome it brought you back to the 60s and 70s The service was horrible are waitress took for ever to come are table and the food was not great at all. It had no flavor and I don't think they ever change the oil everything was that dark oil color not golden color when the oil does get changed. We wanted to order drinks but the waitress never came back so I went to the bar myself and waited for at least 20 minutes and the bar staff just ignores you so I never got a drink. I also saw other people that didn't get one also. Very frustrating. We went there to dance and it was so over crowded you didn't have room to. They also asked if we had a wrist ban to be able to watch the band but we were already in the room but they said you still have to pay 10.00 each so we paid but there was no room to Dance so we left. YUM! Some people aren't fond of their sushi but I think it may be the best in the area: and I'm a sushi fanatic. Their avocado, crab salad is AMAZING. Better than any other place I've been to. Their fish is always fresh and the sushi chef prepares it perfectly. Somewhat pricey, but worth it. For some reason, I think it's even better when you sit right at the sushi bar. I don't even understand how this place is still in business. The actual restaurant is disgusting and so dirty. The bartenders act like they are doing you a favor by waiting on you and the food is bland and done with the bare minimum. They no longer put fruit in your drinks or veggies in the fried rice. The bar tenders won't take your keno tickets from your seat and they are too busy worrying about the end of the night clean up to take care of customers. I'm very disappointed in this restaurant. Went back to try out the buffet. When I got there I went in to wash my hands. Immediately I heard this horrifying sound of somebody puking their guts out saying " I knew I shouldnt have tried the lo mein" my family had already grabbed plates and started eating by the time I came out of the filthy bathroom so I grabbed some wings and shrimp. This old Chinese gentleman was scowling at me for taking a lot of shrimp and muttering to himself in Cantonese. I shrugged it off...The wings were good. Shrimp was good. Buffet needs more sushi. The fried rice & sushi were pretty good, but their "spicy" menu items had no spiciness in comparison to other Szechuan-style restaurants in MA. I went to chopsticks with two friends I believe on a Friday night . (Can't recall) I really was looking for a Chinese buffet because I wanted sushi and other things. The food was hot and fresh, kinda busy in there . The service was actually great and I'm a server . Got complimentary tea and more than one refill on water at a buffet (WOW). The sushi was incredibly fresh for a buffet too, but not many options . The food options were varying but nothing spectacular . All in all I would go again. Keep it up! read more

This used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant & it consistently had great takeout. My family visited since I was a young child. However it's gotten progressively worse over my last several visits & I've stopped going. I really enjoyed the pineapple shrimp, but they started decreasing the amount of sauce & then ended up replacing the sauce with what tastes like duck sauce. It makes everything mushy & I never liked duck sauce to begin with. Then they ruined the fried rice. They used to have fantastic fried rice. The perfect amount of egg/veggies/meat to rice ratio - without any onion which is a huge plus in my opinion. Last time (maybe a year ago) their fried rice degraded to the boring, flavorless fried rice that is common in all the other mediocre restaurants in the area. Pretty much just rice and meat.
