We grabbed a couple of milk teas here on a walk near the wharf and I highly suggest that if you are going to grab a drink here, you order it ahead of time. How deja is my absolute favorite tea and I never pass up a chance to get it. Unfortunately I really don't like black sugar as it can be too sweet and overpowering. But I ordered the Black sugar hojicha milk tea to try and honestly it was fine. There's a huge contrast between the earthy flavor of the hojicha and the sweet sugar and I doubt that I would get it again, but it just seems like a very strange combination to me. I'm glad I tried it though. My husband had the Uncle Earl the milk tea and although there was really no description as to what that was, I just assumed that it was a simple Earl Gray milk tea. He said he also gave it three stars, for me it was a little bitter but that could have been because I was drinking the ncredibly sweet black sugar in mine. The interior of the shop is in desperate need of a makeover. Although it is spacious which is nice and there were four or five people hanging out while we waited for our drinks, it's very old and outdated. The material was coming off of the couches and everything was dirty. We definitely took our drinks to go! I might be persuaded to try some more of their options if we are in the area again, but I would definitely order a head for pickup and get those drinks to go.

Very spacious! and for a friday, not too busy at all. I really like the high ceilings and the amount of seating given in here. Plus, our drinks tasted delicious. I really appreciated the the service

This place was such a treat! I was craving a drink and was in the area. It is such a big boba space and they had games to play while you sip your drinks. The cashier was friendly. I ordered a manguava tea which was refreshing and had fresh fruit bite. I also had a tutti fruiti smoothie and it was filled to the brim and topped with fresh fruits. Both were delicious. The only issue I had was the boba straw was paper and just fell apart halfway through my drink. I was better off using a spoon. Would return if I was in the area.

In the downtown Monterey area. Nice place to walk around. There is some seating inside but it's pretty empty and worn out. There is a cute seating area by the front. They could make it a little nicer inside. Not many boba choices in the Monterey area. I'm happy with my jasmine milk tea with Crystal boba and coffee jelly.

Quick take: twice in 4 days I'm a bay area girl. I need my boba drinks where ever I can get my hands on one. Always open to supporting the local tea shops. Trying the Strawberry Madness, Fresh Lemon Tea, and an Avacado Smoothie. Drinks were average. Avocado smoothie had some avocado skin in the drink. Overall, not bad.

Walked by this place many times and finally gave it a try today. The place is huge with plenty of seating and board games to play. The service was quick and the drinks came out looking yummy. I will say that the quality does seem low as you can taste the fake powder in the drinks.

Having my typical boba craving while in Monterey, I saw that Tzone was very close to where I happened to be at, so we made a pit stop. The front of the shop is oddly dark, and they had their front door closed that day. So at initial glance, we actually thought the store was closed, until we saw someone else walk in. The middle of the shop consists of a large table, but oddly, all the seating is on the side. We assume this was a remnant of pre-COVID times, in which there probably was bench seating at the tables. And the side seats were a more recent addition with the lifting of lockdown restrictions. If not, there seems to be a rather big amount of square footage that seems like it could be re-purposed for better usage. Service was friendly and efficient, and we were in and out pretty quickly. I opted for a California Journey w/ Honey Boba, which consisted of: pineapple, peach lychee jelly, and peach bits. I found the drink a bit sweeter than my typical liking, and the fruit pieces to not be very fresh. The boba was also a bit firmer than I would have preferred. There doesn't appear to be much in the way of boba selection in Monterey, so Tzone definitely has the lack of competition thing going for it. But otherwise, the boba here was average at best.

Pretty decent place to get drinks but nothing too exciting. The inside is pretty spacey however there aren't that many chairs. I got the California Tea Journey which is pineapple, peach, lychee jelly, and peach bits in a green tea base. It was a sweet blend but wasn't too bad. Will probably adjust the sweetness level next time to be 50%

    Matcha latte

Although the staff was nice, the drinks here are a pass if you're looking for quality tea (and not "qualitea" that's in their logo). Both me and my friend did not feel that our matcha latte was up to standard. My matcha felt lacking in the flavor quality im used to, especially if I'm paying upwards of $5 for a drink. It had 100% sugar in it, but what was weird was that they used some sort of dark syrup at the bottom... I actually mistakenly thought that was boba when I first saw the picture on the menu. You have to make sure to mix it well but I decided to pass on trying to drink from the bottom because I'm not typically a fan of syrups in my drinks, or at least wasn't sure if it was natural since the ingredients aren't listed in the menu. My best guess is that it might be brown sugar but good matcha shouldn't require a lot of sweetness to stand out. My friend on the other hand got hers at zero percent sugar, which is a good for tasting the actual quality of the matcha. In my friend's words, it tasted like "liquid bread" because something about the taste in the matcha was off. She actually felt Starbucks has even better matcha if we have to compare to other places that don't specialize in tea. Another friend tried a standard milk tea, which she said was OK. Nothing mind blowing though. I feel like it's a pass if you are used to high quality boba, or could be because we live in places where the standard is set high for tea. For those of you who know the Quickly stores, that unfortunately might even be a better option than here.

One of the best tasting classic milk teas (with boba) I've ever had. Quality is really good. My sister loved the lavender milk tea.

It didn't look like it died down which is awesome for this business. I believe I waited 20-30 minutes in line before I reached the display case. There were so many delicious things to choose from, it was a challenge to decide! I opted for a croissant sandwich, a blue corn cookie, and some sweet treats for the beach. I also ordered a seasonal latte, I believe it was cherry chocolate with oat milk less sweet. There's a nice outdoor seating area with many tables in chairs. Since the weather was nice we decided to stop and eat for a bit. The ambience was very nice and calm. The food was delicious and their house made pickles were fantastic. They were crisp, fresh, and complimented the turkey sandwich so well. The blue corn cookie was very interesting and reminiscent of a tortilla chip. I'd definitely come back here if I were in the area.

Latte was decent, not too bitter or acidic and it was creamy They try a lot of variations for pastries, both savory and sweet! The savory danish was really tasty and there was some pickled / citrus component that added more depth and made it super interesting to eat! The salmon croissant was alright, had a really nice flaky crust but the filling tasted kinda gamey , would've been nice to have another component to balance it out. Cookies were niceeeee the buckwheat choco cookie had nice amounts of sea salt and was like a brownie texture on the inside. Choco chip cookie was thin and crispy on the outside with chocolate blobs spread around, quite sweet though There was a line going out the door but only had to wait around 15 min!

The way it was said immediately made me feel uncomfortable, like I was somehow doing something wrong. I apologized and explained we weren't from here and I wasn't even sure yet if I wanted anything else. Their tone changed after that and became much friendlier, which honestly made the interaction feel even more awkward. Still, it would be nice to be able to test it, maybe limit it to 2-3 flavors per person? I really wouldn't want to get back in line. The flavors I got to try were quite good. The Bees knees is award winning, so we felt like we had to get that but it was very underwhelming. While in line they were playing a video showing how they made their ice cream from scratch, and there was this crunchy dessert they broke into smaller pieces and mixed in with this ice cream, but I could not taste it. Plus the honey was so subtle. It felt more like a vanilla ice cream for the majority of the time. It still is a nice clean light flavor, but it would have been nice to pull the honey flavor forward a bit more. We also tried the eucalyptus mint chip which also had a light crisp flavor, mint was not too overpowering and the eucalyptus scent hit your nose first before you finish with the cooling mint. Exactly as advertised. Good if you like this combo of scent and flavor. My mom got the cold brew coffee and wow was that really good. If you are a coffee lover, you will enjoy it.
