These guys are one of the best businesses in Port Townsend. Everything about them illustrates what I think are the benefits of living in a small town where people care about what they do. The service is great. The employees care about the work they do and do it well, always with a smile. I went to the other place in town, a franchise model, to get a passport picture taken. It was aweful. I threw those pictures away and went to Mail Plus to have them do the pictures instead. They could not have been nicer. They had the right equipment and kept taking pictures and showing them to me until there was one I liked, and we used that one. I was in the store one time where they offered to drive one of their elderly customers home because she just had a medical procedure and was a little unsteady. They are wonderful! read more

They are terrible employers. I've been there, observed it with my own eyes. The customers are outstanding but the teamwork is very obviously one sided. This is the ONLY store in the Port Townsend area to use when shipping ANYTHING important! First of all, Gordon is one of the most caring and conscientious owner/operators of ANY business I have ever used for my postal/business needs. The woman who left a bad review should seriously consider putting down the crack pipe and paying attention to her charges! I have used Mail Plus for more than 8 years and have never once had a problem. I can't say that about the local UPS store or the local post office. In addition, I have been at Mail Plus when the line was all the way out the door (after Thanksgiving madness!) and every single one of us were treated like we were the only one there: professionally, efficiently and courteously. They even served us hot cider and cookies while we were waiting! YUMMY! In conclusion, you can either take Big Mama's word for it ;-) because I have years and years of experience with Mail Plus or you can listen to the ramblings of someone who obviously had only utilized these services once and who had no idea how to fill out a shipping receipt. I have patronized this place for many many years. Sending large boxes, important documents and to large copy jobs or even small ones. In the past, depending on the mood of some of the women, it was hit and/or miss. One day surprisingly nice and the next time you were treated horribly. This particular day I just needed to make a few copies. Unfortunately, I made some errors with 4 copies. (Note, you have to ASK how much copies are). I waited patiently for them to activate the machine and made my copies. When I went to pay for them, the woman charged me for the 8 I made and the 4 errors. I mentioned in the past, this was not the case. She was extremely rude and cold and said that she had been there for 26 years...well maybe the other people give and take a little and do not charge people when they make a mistake, this is called GOOD customer service. I mentioned a sign that said it was up to employees discretion... .she cut me off ad said "NO it does not. She was more interested in saying high to a friend who had just entered the store...and watching a lady who had 2 small children. She eyed them as if the kids were going to destroy something. Being that Port Townsend is a small community of about 9000 people...it doesn't matter how log you have been in business...BAD customer service and not giving a damn will closer your doors. I could have been a mystery shopper. Maybe I was going to come back and spend more money. Treat everyone as thought they were spending a million dollars. read more

Friendly employees but when I checked my mail rental box, it was closed. Neither of my two local banks rented safety deposit boxes so I rented the MailPlus mailbox. I had paid my bill previously so I was upset when they said the box was closed and its contents were "gone". They claimed they "tried to contact me" for the unpaid bill. I received neither phone/email/US note of a past due bill.They simply closed the box and tossed all contents including my original will which was clearly marked on the envelope. Gordon has always gone the extra mile for me and takes great care to make sure everything is right. One time I went in for a passport photo and he redid it when he saw that the picture didn't look very flattering. This is the kind of business it is. I want to provide a more updated review here of Mail Plus in Port Townsend as the last one was 4 years ago. Gordon continues to provide excellent service. I just returned from shipping a heavy piece of radio equipment and Gordon did a superb job of double boxing it and making sure that it was very well protected inside for shipment to the Midwest. He also found the lowest shipping fee and I was very pleased with the service. I definitely recommend Mail Plus for mailing and shipping needs. They also provide internet access and personal mail boxes as well. I've been a satisfied customer for 7 years. read more

Unbelievable rip off! I paid for and sent two fedex packages through this "business" yesterday. Today, the central fedex office (an hour's drive away) called me to tell me that the packages had not been paid for and therefore are being held until I come in in person to pay for them. I called Mail Plus only to be told that they couldn't do anything about it. I paid them for absolutely zero service. I think that's called fraud. Do not use this shop. I think they want to steal from you too. I have to drive an hour and pay a second time for two Christmas packages. read more

We recently used this place for our passport photos. They were patient and accommodating to our young children who hate sitting still for photos. When the courts rejected one of the photos they promptly corrected the mistake and took another photo. They apologized profusely for this error because it did create quite the headache for us. I think $15 for a passport photo is ridiculous ... but alas it's not something we purchase every day. Great customer service! read more

This place is awesome. I have not had to send huge packages, but the little bit of ebay stuff I sell always gets mailed through here. They are extremely courteous and fun to talk to. I really enjoy coming here to get my packages ready to ship. They also have email and fax services but I have not used those. Thanks you guys for being so awesome!
