I've ordered the Mango Chicken several times when they used to have it. Today I chose the General Tso's chicken and cream cheese wontons and was pleasantly surprised by both. The chicken was nicely prepared and still crispy and the sauce was tasty. The cream cheese wontons were crispy and tasty also. The portion sizes are above average for the price. The cashier was friendly, and asked if I was there for pickup when I walked to the counter. She also confirmed the order. It seems a popular thing to do is comment on the decor. Despite this, I did not personally taste any of the decor, so I cannot comment on it. I will visit Main Dynasty more often after today's visit. read more

Food was tasty and ample portions. The establishment yearns to be updated from what appears to be stuck in the 80s. Service was quick but then again there was only one other party inside and during our total time on site, two carry-out orders were picked up. Food is a 4 but interior is a 2. Personnel were friendly for the duration. It will need some real $$$ spent to bring this up to current acceptable interior levels. I wish them well. We stopped by this good restaurant on our road trip. It was a quiet day when we were there. People mostly ordered takeout instead of eating in. Services were very friendly and fast. I've been going here over 10 years never a bad experience for a takeout Asian restaurant food is what matters it's simple good portions. If you see a takeout Chinese takeout restaurant super clean and there isn't a kid doing homework in back of the kitchen LEAVE immediately. This place is family owned same two people there everytime and I feel like I've seen this kid grow from 6 yrs old to 16 LOL. Anyways the lunch combos is the best bang for your buck and they're nice enough to let you mix and match I always do the pepper steak and onion. The shrimp is good to though. Don't expect Hamada quality if you go to a simple takeout restaurant though it's just common sense. read more

Yuck Not even close to real. Egg rolls are not made on site cabbage and carrots no spices or flavor...just awful. Beef fried rice was similarly awful..cubed carrots and frozen peas. read more

This is my favorite Chinese take-out restaurant in the Kankakee area. I worked at Jewel Osco next door throughout high school and made many trips down the strip mall to pick up food orders. Everything I've ever orders has been tasty, hot, and reasonably (to cheaply!) priced. It's family owned and I've only ever seen the same 2 people working when I've picked up my food. If you look closely their kids are often on the computer in the corner of the restaurant. Super nice people and it only makes me want to support their business more. read more

Mediocre food and perhaps the most unclean and ugly inside of a restaurant in the Bourbonnais area - looks like an abandoned bank with visible stains everywhere, bad lighting, drab interior decor, the scent of an old basement, and sticky/ripped tables + chairs. Food was slimy and tastes like oil that had been sitting out for too long. It's not awful and you get a lot for it, but not worth it. read more

The owners are very friendly although they don't speak much English. Their lunch special is super cheap 5.75 with entrée, fried rice and egg roll. For a standard Chinese take out place you can't really ask for too much when it comes to flavor and services. read more

Hard to believe this place exists at all. Thought we would try a new Oriental locally BIG disappointment. Can't say bad flavor because there was no flavor. We tried four separate items to share and all had the same no flavor to them. Had they not been white and brown we couldn't have known beef from chicken. Great Chinese food this is food more similar to cities north of us so if ur from some were closer to Chicago u know what I mean food down here is not the same even at chain resturaunts but this place is the closest to getting food in the city u will find around here, and the owners may not be super talkative and the place may look a little dirty but anyone who loves Chicago food knows the best food usually comes from the dumpiest looking places. I called them one night at 10:05 and they said they closed at 10 and I was like "ok" then the guy on the phone said "if u want to order we will make it" I was like "really" and I ordered and the food was still just as good! Service is good, but the food is not so good. The sauce was runny and watery instead of thick and rich. The atmosphere is pretty tacky. Awful. The worst Chinese food I have ever had, I got the pineapple chicken and my boyfriend got sweet and sour chicken, I got plain rice and he got fried rice. Mine tasted mostly like bell pepper with a faint undertone of pineapple jello. His was just faint, and the texture was slimy. We also got an egg roll which was OK but so greasy it seeped through the wax paper it was in. The rice was OK. Main Dynasty offers a selection of some of the best Chinese food the area has to offer. Located in the Jewel-Osco Shopping Center complex, Main Dynasty is a stop that locals know and love. I first went here off a suggestion from a friend that turned to gold. I got the broccoli with rice and a side of chicken and a thing of shrimp. Delicious! I can't remember what it is called but the Family-Pleaser or something like that is also very good. Courteous staff and the meals are always fresh and fast! I do however recommend that when you go you get take out, as in my visits I've always know it to be busy, but for some reason or another it doesn't seem like people actually stay and eat there, only get their meals to go. read more

AVOID....Food not fully cooked and slimey. Nothing but cornstarch in limp veggies with an oz of undercooked meat. I've eaten here about a dozen times over the past 10 years of living in the area. it's the kind of place that you're always happy when you remember and after you eat you are unhappy you remembered.... but the actual restaurant is so unimaginative and boring that you forget than even exists for a year. Funny enough, it is the only Chinese food restaurant I know that is now open on Monday. Everytime I come here I always think to myself, why the heck do they have this huge restaurant... No one ever actually sits down and eats inside of this restaurant....they can easily get away with facilities one third of the size of this place so I hope they're cheap because I want them to be around for a long time. Crab rangoon has no actual genuine imitation crab in it, just sweet cream cheese but you get about 8 of them for 4 bucks which is a really good deal unless you love fake crab. To owners a side note: you save 10 cents not putting fake crab in my crab rangoon. What a win. This place is a college students Mecca because the fried rice is actually fried by a real chef. Not the crappy yellow orange stuff that comes out of a big pocket but they just reheat. I highly recommend the combination rice it is worth the extra dollar, and I recommend adding $2 extra beef to order. ask them to make it extra spicy and it lends much more flavor to what you get. a large order of combination rice could easily fill up 3 people for 9 bucks. it is no surprise this restaurant is just down the street from all olivet. So for lunch its Jimmy Johns, and Friday night it's Nancy's pizza, Sunday night its beggars pizza... Monday night this is the place to eat... And eat cheeap!!! .... but if you want good, cheep and good are mutually exclusive. read more
