We had a blast! It was myself, my husband, another couple and their 3 yr old daughter. We ordered the "players platter" from the bar area and everything was delicious. It was cheap and filled us all up! We had a few cocktails which were so cheap I couldn't believe my eyes. I had a delicious blueberry vodka and soda water for only $5 and a shot of fireball for $3! Back home that drink would cost me at least $8 and the shot at least $7! We decided to bowl and had a great time. All of us adults were wearing sandals and with the show rental they gave us FREE socks! Thought that was awesome of them being that they could easily charge you just to make more money if they really wanted to. The place is very accommodating to younger children giving the option of bumpers or a cushion slide shaped as an awesome glow in the dark dinosaur to push the ball down. Needless to say, the 3 yr old wanted every turn to be her turn, she had that good of a time. We'll definitely be back if we're in the area again! read more

A pretty fun place. They have such a wide variety of things to do that it's real good for big groups or familys. There's bowling, arcade, laser tag and a bar with foosball, pool tables and shuffle board. The bowling alley is for a more casual bowler, with the whole black light thing on friday and saturday nights, and you also have to pay hourly for bowling instead of per game. I prefer that, especially since it's more affordable if you have several people to split the cost. Only real gripe I have is that it gets really crowded on weekends, but that's not really a terrible thing. You have to wait for a lane but you can always wait at the bar which isn't all bad. read more

I've never heard of Main Event until my company had a party here, but it was a blast! We bowled for an hour (and had bbq during), then went to play laser tag. The staff were all nice (a little lazy and slow at how to clear tables, but they're not a true restaurant so I'll let that slide), and the drinks were pretty good. There's a nice happy hour 4-7pm weekdays that includes free billiards, so I wish I lived closer. The place is a bit hard to find amidst all the construction and other stores nearby (there's no sign off the street), but otherwise I would come back again! (not sure I would pay for it since it's so out of the way for me) The laser tag arena is 2 floors and pretty big. We had a blast. Definitely a lot of smack talk. We had a fun team outing with 12 people I work with. Pricing was reasonable and they have a nice selection of options for parties and team events. We ended up with 2 games of bowling/shoe rentals, a selection of snacks, veggie tray, fruit tray and iced tea and it wound up being about $25 or so/person. Overall everyone was impressed with the building itself and we loved that they put us at the end of the lane where we got couches to sit on instead of the standard chairs. They also laid out the food beautifully with table cloths - much classier than I expected for a bowling alley. A few weird things happened that kept the rating from 5 stars. At 5:00 our screens suddenly turned off and had this weird error message. We were told that we were out of time (originally we'd booked to end at 5, but had called several days before and changed that to 5:30). It sounded like a simple error, but then it took 15 mins for them to turn our monitors back on and eventually someone had to come out with a step ladder to fix the problem. Also at 5:00 the lanes also switched to dark/cosmic bowling. Which we found cool, but were surprised because there were leagues playing. That happened at the same time that our screens went off, so we wonder if it was all linked. About 15-20 mins later all the lights came back on. Not long after that we heard a loud explosion that sounded like it came from behind the pins (and several lanes down). It sounded like a gun shot and we assumed that something had gotten stuck in a ball return. Then 5 minutes later some employee came over to our group to scold us for throwing our ball against the wall. (?????) It was bizarre that anyone A. Could think that noise had been caused by a simple ball being thrown and B. Would single our group out of everyone else to think we'd done it. We were a group of professionals dressed in business attire and no children and had been quiet and well behaved the entire time we were there. Plus we weren't anywhere near where the noise had come from. Still... I'd come back and recommend it. I have to assume that the screw ups of our last 30 mins were isolated. This place is amazing. Great place to bowl and have fun. However, took over 15 minutes to get a glass if water with lemon. I had to go to the bar to get it myself after I waited for the water to get it. When I did go to get my water I had to wait for the bartender at the main bar to stop horsing around with a young waitress. He was spraying whip cream on her. My husband and I decided to take our kids here for Valentines Day yesterday. Decided to do something different. We usually come here to bowl. The moment we walked in everything went south. We were promised a wait of 5 mins to bowl but waited 30 minutes. I had to ask someone to send a server over to our lanes to order some food. As we were bowling, our bowling lane froze and we had to wait around 15 minutes for someone to fix it. My sister and I ordered a pizza at the same time and she got hers and I never got mine. My husband called a manager over after waiting 30 minutes for our pizza and the manager was never apologetic about the issue. She just said she would go check on that pizza for us. Never came back to check if everything was okay. Food was not worth the price we paid and service was horrible. Definitely will think twice about coming back to this location. read more

Main Event has been here awhile, 15 years at least, maybe closer to 20? Yet unlike many things that have been in the Grapevine/mid-cities area this game place seems to have been very well maintained. I had not been here in many years until now my daughter has hit the age that Main Event draws a few birthday parties in for friends from school & girl scouts so we have been twice so far this year. In those two times I only recall seeing one game out of order, a candy claw machine thing which is completely understandable & everything else was clean and in very good working order. The first party we went to the parents just bought 2 hour unlimited game cards & pizza for the kids as an "unofficial" party so we didn't try the bowling & laser tag at that one, but the kids had a blast. The most recent we went to a birthday party that included bowling and laser tag. The kids did bowling first, and it seemed to go really well. Then we went to the party room, that was well maintained as well, in an area that I had not seen previously. The food seemed well enough, though my daughter isn't a fan of burgers but loved getting chips. I was glad to see somewhere with multiple options for the in-house party food, and it wasn't stuff that made you want to go uck! The birthday boy opened his gifts and then they passed out game cards for a certain dollar amount. I think at this party the laser tag was a last min add on decision by the parents, but it worked out that the kids had about 10 mins to use their cards before going into laser tag, or use them after which some of the kids did based on how quickly the parents were ready to go. I didn't physically go into the laser tag but my daughter seemed to enjoy it. Fair warning make sure if you plan on doing it that most if not all the kids going are over 48 inches, and that you make sure you have your kid potty before going in. My daughter luckily was able to run & go during the instructional video & let back in, but I got the impression that once the game officially starts she wouldn't have been let back in. My few complaints can be deemed more toward my personality. I got a little claustrophobic in the bowling alley but that was simply because there were a lot of kids at this birthday party & everyone was hovering where the kids were instead of spreading out; but I was able to quickly find a place to sit near by with a couple other parents where we didn't feel smothered by 15 other adults hanging out. The music was from late 80-90, some 2000's which I do not mind at all but I did hear a few comments from the kids about why there were no cartoons on. Birthdays seem to run 14-20 per kid plus whatever taxes and such they tack on which isn't bad for a more basic package having food, bowling or laser tag and a $5 game card ... pricer for both obviously. I cant remember if there is an 8 or 10 kid min though but with most places that have parties thats the case. read more

No "I'll be with you all in a moment"nothing, just kept repeatedly walking past without so much as making eye contact. We had our first and last birthday party at Main Event Grapevine. We went on a Monday, Nov. 2018, with a group of 10 - 10 year olds. We went at 4pm and did unlimited bowling, laser tag and video games. Our server, Donald, started out OK and brought the table drinks (said he would make sure to keep drinks filled). We ordered some pizzas and that was the last assistance we got from our server. ;( We tried to ask him for drink / water refills (or a pitcher) and he continued telling us "just a minute." Then a manager (older man with glasses) walked by and said he was a manager. I asked for some water for the table so that kids could have a drink while eating and he said he'd bring it "right over." He never followed up either. I ended up going to the bar, waiting in line for water / drink refills and also cleared our table of empty pizza plates and serving trays. I asked for a water pitcher (which was sitting on the counter) was told that "tables cannot have water pitchers." But, if I can't get anyone to refill the waters, then make life a little easier and allow us to refill our own glasses with a pitcher. We never received water / drink refills or any assistance from staff during our entire stay (about 2 hrs), even though I flagged down multiple staff walking by & let the people at the front counter know that we had children with empty glasses (eating food w/o water - which is a BIG safety concern...i.e. choking hazard). No one cared to take action...except the parents of the children that stood in line for drink refills at the bar (an overwhelmed bartender was alone and busy serving her customers). I let the manager at the front counter, Meshelle, know about our experience as we were leaving. She asked what "would make you feel better," then gave me a card for a free hour of bowling! LOL! Yes, the hour of bowling makes me feel so much better about the $200+ I spent to serve kids at the party and clear the table myself (which I ended up just putting dishes on surrounding empty tables), and waiting in line to get drinks (which the bar was completely overwhelmed and was extremely difficult & time consuming to get their attention for water). I asked multiple people for basic server attention (i.e. refill drinks and keep table cleared) and neither the server Donald, the manager (older male with glasses), nor the other manager Meshelle chose to make sure that was accomplished. As an active / vocal member in the community, I will make sure that friends do not choose Main Event for their children's birthday destinations. Even the parents at our party made comments about the server being rude and inattentive. Main Event left a really negative impression on alot of local Grapevine / Colleyville families attending the party. read more

Had an absolute blast with my brother and young nephews! Played bowls in a great atmosphere with cheering, raucous laughter and fun. Staff were great and helpful. Food was good too! We went Main Event to bowl and tried their bowling special which was all you can bowl for $7 per person. After we were bowling for about 45 minutes and just over 1 game we were told we had to stop bowling because they had people who had reservations that would be taking our lanes. I counted 6 empty lanes and I did not see any people waiting to bowl. We were told we could be put on a waiting list but no guarantee on a time we could bowl. There unlimited bowl, which I was corrected by the manager as "all you can bowl" because they don't like to use unlimited, likely because it is not consecutive as they can stop you mid bowl to allow people paying more to bowl to take your spot. Their concept behind allowing all you can bowl is very misleading and I would not recommend this to anyone. I would not go back to Main Event as my experience was horrible. read more

We drive across town because this theater has large lazy boy type seats. You get your own table tray too. I love it. The service is hit or miss. The theater is most kept up. Sometimes it seems kinda dirty. Things are sticky. Otherwise it isn't bad at all. The decor is awesome and there's a lot of room to lounge around while waiting for your movie. It almost looks like a hotel. The bar drinks are reasonable but they aren't strong. The bartender was super friendly. The food is so so. Don't have high expectations. They do have a 2 for $25 deal. That get you an appetizer and entree. If you can find a Groupon for this place it is even more of a value. We do that often. That's why we keep returning. read more

Took our son and friends to celebrate his 22nd birthday. $10.50 evening special for as much bowling, laser tag and billiards you would like to play. Inside every COVID protocol was being followed. Very clean, social distancing in place and hand sanitizers throughout the facility. Bowling balls were selected for you based of weight and size requested, so bowls were not being touched by multiple people. I'm only giving this place 4 stars because the wait time for bowling is a bit ridiculous and because sometimes the service can be slow. I was also in shock at the price of bowling alone. However I'm a fan! My friend and I are 30 and spent an entire day there. We hit up laser tag, shuffleboard, pool, video games and then bowling (yes we did all that before it was our turn to bowl). This place is great for kids and adults. They have a pretty nice bar selection (for a kids place) and TVs to catch the latest scores. I noticed a few birthday parties were going on but it's so big I wasn't bothered by all the kids. The food was ok. I was confused why it took so long to get a single pretzel and cheese. I stood there for 10 minutes waiting. I had time to call my mom and husband while waiting. While bowling we pushed the service button but nobody came so I just went and got things myself. Went to go play billards and on the screen it said it was about $9 every thirty minutes. It did not specify that it was per person (but it did for bowling), only that it was around $9. We ubered there and back, so we know for sure we were not there for over an hour because we have exact times. My card was charged $49.70. We intially thought we would be paying under $20 if we were there for an hour, but got charged almost $30 more than that. We had complete sticker shock@ 36.00 for 1 hr and 2 kids shoes, shoes that did not fit but were FORCED to have my 2 yr old wear(he tossed some socks at me). They cut the game off after 9 frames and only gave us 50mins for bowling vice the 1 hour. The times starts when you pay, therefore the time for standing in line for shoes, getting to your lane, and adding the names to the display is included in your one hour. read more

I'm going to rate this place on behalf of my mom who threw a party here for my stepdad. She went all out and we actually got a package deal for 3 hours of bowling and a huge food spread with alcohol so yes, it was a pretty penny. The atmosphere itself is actually nice and the food was good for bowling alley food so no complaints in those departments. The service however was not great and disappointing for the money we were spending. The manager was okay, checking in on us but personally I find it distasteful that he would come up and speak to my mom in front of guests about the bill. There's a time and place and he should have pulled her aside instead of talking to her in the middle of guests. Our so called party host when MIA half way through the party and only came back to pack our food. Also she didn't pack all of it. For that much money, you better be packing the dips with the chips and where were the wings?! She was horrible, not personable and just downright disappointing. I told my mom to not tip her well. Horrible. Our drink server was great though and I would give him 5 stars. He was fast, patient and even walked down our lane to retrieve a stuck ball which isn't his job. I also went to the shoe desk and was ignored by 3 people while I was literally standing face to face with them. I had to ask them to service me... Over priced, my food was cold after waiting thirty minutes to get it. We got combo deal the waiter did not bring the cards out till almost are meal showed up. Bowling with a real bar? Not a crappy half-assed one like most joints? Sweet, I'm there... if it's after 8pm that is. Or maybe it's 9pm. Whatever time I'm trying to figure out is when they kick out the kids and you can start really drinking and cussing without being bothered by annoying tweeners that pop their gum and say, like omg every five seconds. On the flip side, this is a great place to have a kids party during the day. They provide you with everything you'd ever need and it's even fun for the parents or adults involved. The service here is terrible. I'm 70 years old and back on the farm we would have to kill a cow and grow the tomatoes for a burger but at Main Event it took longer to get a burger than it took to get one at the farm and the on top of that it was burnt to hell. I brought my whole youth group here and the workers were real sweet! We got a package for food, one game of bowling, one game of laser tag and some cards for arcade games.... They had a blast we even had our own VIP section for the bowling but when it came to the bowling each of our alleys (we had 3) had their own issues and we had to stop our game on each one to call management on multiple occasion. They were generous and gave us each additional $5.00 for the arcade games and we had 17 people! The bowling part wasn't fun but everything else was great! read more
