This was probably one of the more expensive bowling alleys I've been to and the lane kept glitching. The bumpers randomly kept going up and down and the lane stopped working all together for a period of time. It would randomly clear all the pins sometimes too and give you a spare when you didn't get it. When your paying as much as they charge I would expect better quality. read more

Main Event very much reminds me of a modern version of the Funplex on Kipling that all the kids in the '90s had their birthday party at. It's a great place for family events like that because there are a lot of options for entertainment - bowling, mini golf, laser tag, obstacle course, video games. The place is in pretty good shape and fairly clean as long as you allow for the fact that it is, after all, teeming with kiddos. The food, on the other hand, is pretty terrible. The descriptions on the menu are far more appealing than the product that comes out. Everything I tried there was incredibly bland, even by kid's food standards. For any bowling lovers, chicken-tender lovin'-nurture-the-kid-in-me adult, Main Event is where it's at, BABY! This "Get the gang back together to play & slay" laidback hangout spot really was the highlight of my night. I came with a group of 8 people, while mask mandating was still in place and we still had a wild of a night. Main Event is HUUGEE! Lots of parking lot spaces and easy to find your friends. As we came in, the bathrooms were located in the left hand side, but it was the only restroom that we could find! They took our temperatures immediately and we got our bowling shoes. The staff were overall incredibly friendly, lots of young kids working here; nothing wrong with that! We got our bowling shoe rentals for about $5.00 a pair? We were at our lane, we got to enjoy the freedom of not wearing a mask, which was nice. They had big screen tv's everywhere!! Loud music is inevitable; we had lots of fun. I loved that Main Event had the option of taking a group photo or individual photo by the name on the screen. The rounds of bowling were challenging, engaging, yet fun and included everyone! We ordered some chicken tenders with fries and the fries were decently salty, tenders were surprisingly hot and crunchy. As we roamed around the hangout of Main Event, we noticed the awesome arcade lights all around us. There were even spaces with long tables and chairs for that venue atmosphere!! (like hosting parties or work functions) At the end of the night, we turned in our bowling shoes at the same counter and kissed, hugged goodbye!! Thanks Main Event for an awesome time. read more

My kids enjoy Main Event. There are a decent number of fun activities. We even had my daughter's birthday there and they were very accommodating. So, why the 3 stars??? I don't like stupid things. They offer a summer deal for $15 for all activities but you have to get it before 12:00 and it is only good until 5:00. They also have a $20 deal for all day. We went around 2:00. My daughter and her friend wanted to do the activities but they could only do it until 5:00. So they had to pay $20 each even though they would have less time than people that got there before 12:00 and purchased it. I guess we needed go through the inconvenience of getting there before 12 just to get the passes then come back to use them. I'm sorry, but this is D-U-M-B. Why not just have a $15 deal for activities until 5:00 and $20 deal for activities beyond that? Hope others can learn from this. read more

We purchased the all you can play for 27.99. We played two rounds of bowling which was great. We signed up for laser tag and waited 30 minutes to play. None of the guns worked and everyone who played was very frustrated. When we confronted the worker she told us, "My co-worker played with the system and it hasn't worked the same. The next game is in 45 minutes. I can't get you in because we are short staffed." Very disappointed because it was the first time playing laser tag for the entire group. Came with the family and went bowling. 22 bowling lanes on a Saturday afternoon all booked and one server for all of them at first. He got relief halfway through our experience. He got the orders from all of the lanes before entering Amy of the orders on the kitchen, then submitted food and drink orders for all of them. This leaves your bar staff and kitchen staff with all the food and drinks orders at one time. When we went to see why drinks were taking 20 minutes there was about 30 drinks ready at the bar and no one distributing them to guests. He asked if we wanted fries, tots, or a salad. We ordered the salad and got tots. Pizza was extremely undercooked, couldn't eat it. read more

DO NOT COME HERE...SERIOUSLY, JUST DON'T. The place is very underwhelming and disappointing. First, their prices are outrageous and that undoubtedly is so they can sell you on their daily special. Also, their customer service is abysmal. I'm not buying a used car here, Main Event. But, I do feel like I've just gone through a Buy Here/Pay Here experience. The only difference is, the low grade car salesman would at least offer me a free cup of coffee. If you've gotten this far, you may still be contemplating a visit, or you simply have a pocket full of money that has obviously upset you and you're determined to abandon it somewhere skeevy. Either way, you should know Main Event does not offer a per game price for bowling. The charge for bowling is $36 per hour, for up to 5 people, and another $4.25/person to rent shoes. If you go this route, you're paying $57.25 for 5 people to partake in one game of bowling. Seriously, where would that price seem reasonable? And believe me, you'll be lucky to finish one game due to the defective equipment and it taking up to two minutes for the ball return to regurgitate your brightly colored polyresin sphere. Ahhhhhh, but then, you're not going to have to worry about that one hour time limit, because you were a smart consumer and opted for the $7.00 "Play All Day" wrist band - WRONG! This advertisement is a blatant lie and is the textbook version of "Bait and Switch". Let me explain how this works, so you know what you're getting into. I asked if there was a time limit on the bowling, because I was there with my six year old and knew a typical game would take some extra time. I was told, "No, it's an unlimited pass so you can literally bowl all day for $7 per person." The bait had been deployed. SURPRISE, Here comes the switch. When one hour was up, my lane shut down (in the midst of my second game) and a message appeared indicating I would have to go to the front desk if I needed assistance. The front desk told me I would have to be placed on a waiting list if I wanted to bowl again. WHAT??? I explained this was not explained to me when I bought three wrist bands; in fact it was the exact opposite of what had been explained to me. The response was simply this, "Well, it should have been. You'll need to close out any food orders you have placed and be added to the waiting list." I did manage to have the employee at the "Customer Service" desk add just enough time to allow us to finish the final frames of that game, and made sure I knew she was doing me a huge favor. Wow! So now, I'm not only being kicked off the lane, but I'm being told if I placed an order, which I planned to consume at the tables provided in the bowling area, I won't even have a place to sit and eat?! This was just outstanding, a true textbook example of how to make your customers feel like they are valued and appreciated, at another establishment. I would like to be able to tell you more about this sad example of an entertainment establishment. I'm sure you can understand when I tell you I was inclined to leave. Oh, but I did notice, on my way in, the minimum card value you can purchase for the arcade is about $25. Maybe that's different if your using cash. But then, I'm willing to bet they have another special they'd like to con you into purchasing, just to make you feel "appreciated" as a customer. Honestly, you'd have a better time at Chucky Cheese's, even if you don't have kids. Better to be stared at by people and suspected of being weird than to spend a nickel here and prove you're a sucker! I wanted Main Event to be a winner; the community would be better off with an established place which caters to families. I doubt the staff and management here have the same feeling, they certainly didn't demonstrate the commitment. For a place that's only been open a few months, they certainly don't appear as if they want to become a lasting institution! read more

Holy cow what a great place! A long time ago I used to go to a different entertainment place with my friends, and we always had a great time but when this opened in Highlands Ranch, I was really looking forward to it, and was not disappointed! Yes, they can host for children, but they can also host adult events very effectively. I've been to multiple organized events, as well as an organized events here and the staff and management make this a great time every time!. The food is always hot and fresh, and the environment lens itself to a very upbeat atmosphere. I don't know what is enjoyed more: the bowling, the billiards, all of the high-end video arcade games, or the virtual reality pieces. John Johnson and Brooke De La Rosa are two of my favorite people, and what they have done with this place is absolutely phenomenal. I highly recommend whether you were going for a lunch break, entertaining people, or just want to get out and do something a little different, this is definitely your spot! read more

At first glance you'd think it was a local electronics retailer haha!! but indeed it's a leisure spot competing against places like round1, dave and busters et al--but it seems a little more upscale than those other brands! cleaner facilities, more polished staff members--upgraded equipment and more stylish bar and bowling alleys than you'd find say at RoundOne! To start off, I will have to say that this is a FUN place, especially in the winter when there is literally nothing else to do.  So smart idea on opening a Main Event here in Denver. I had previously been to one in Atlanta, but boy oh boy is it crowded in Denver. We went for a date night on a Saturday night around 8:30pm. We walked in and you could tell the staff was a tad overwhelmed by the amount of people that were at the location. We waited about 10 minutes for the initial greeter to get to us, but the lights are attractive enough to make you lose track of the time you wait. After our initial greeting, he directed us to head over to another counter to sign up for bowling, laser tag, and to get arcade information. It would have been nice to have some directional signage for guests as it became clear that we did not have to waste 10 min actually waiting to talk to the greeter - since the main counter is where you sign up for everything you want to do. Once at the main counter, we inquired about bowling and they mentioned it was AT LEAST a 2 hour wait to bowl, but we ended up saying screw it and signed up and paid anyways. We then signed up for Laser Tag - which is AWESOME and honestly starts every 20 min or so with a new game so there isn't a long wait time which is the best part. We also ended up paying $19.95 for unlimited arcade game playing, but I will say we were a little disappointed to see that at least 7 or so games were broken and that because we signed up for the unlimited play card - we did not accrue any tickets for playing - which of course was a major bummer because winning stuff is one of the most fun parts about places like this. All in all, it is a fun place if you get to bowl and if you play laser tag - the arcade, not too sure I would pick Main Events over Dave and Busters for that. The food - I will say - I was a shocked about. It is really quite good and the portion sizes are decent as well. We ordered a Large Pizza (so good) and Nachos (mediocre). The drinks were good and the serving staff was attentive at first, but once you got your food, that was the extent of their service. read more

This seems like a really fun place. I would like to know if any Pool Leagues play here, and what discounts might be offered... I've read prices were high for the game passes, and bowlers could be asked to move to dining area (even if they had an hour booked) so others can play. If it still like that, I think they may suffer. They need some marketing plans, such as:. Ladies Night Happy Hour Specials Family night Senior Afternoon with special discount, and coupons, to advertise. My Husband and I were able to embark on a "day date," to this place on a weekday. The place was fairly empty which made it amazing for us to see it all, experience it all, and have a blast without anyone really around. The front desk employee, a young man, was extremely informative to how the whole place worked and how we could go about purchasing things. We bowled a few games for an hour and the bartender came over often to check on us. Once done bowling we found ourselves at the pool tables where we played several games, ordered some decent chips and queso, and the bartender took even better care of us. I had an odd request for my draft beer (a bartender myself,) and the bartender made my beer perfect! He was a Cowboys fan from Dallas but we'll forgive him over here in Broncos country, HAHA! We have always enjoyed coming here, my kids love all the activities. Bowling, Lazer tag, Gravity walk, video games. But lately everytime we have been here the Gravity walk has been closed. It's always the same excuse, we can't staff or the ones who run it just punched out. I get it, it difficult to staff for EVERYBODY but let's be serious, it's not like the staff has to do 4 yrs of college to run the game. I took the grandkids there on Thursday...13 and 7. First time. The kids had fun, but I am still not sure what I paid for! We had 2 hour time cards for the arcade, but can only use those on the rainbow games. I don't know what the difference is in cards for those blue areas. The staff is great at accommodating, but not so great in explaining costs, cards, time etc. My grandson was thrilled that he had accumulated many points from the games and when we went to cash in, was told there were no points on time cards!! Why do the games show points accumulating if there are none. This was disappointing to him. I would have gotten him a different play card if I had know. I thought I'd contact you about our experience this past weekend. This is our third birthday party for our kids at your location. We expected a lot better than we received this time around. First of all, one of our two bowling lanes had no less than five technical issues causing us to lose over 20 minutes of play time. The other lane went down for 10 minutes and an associate had to go inside the mechanics to fix it. Jack, our host, was busy eating off of friends plates of food in the bar and gossiping with the large group of staff by the party table. We were constantly out of drinks, out of silverware, and waiting for him to show up. It didn't feel very VIP to us. The worst part was there was a manager standing there in the group of 7+ staff members gossiping away for over 10 minutes. It felt very unprofessional and given we were waiting on things, we did not feel like valued customers. Luckily, my daughter didn't notice the fine details like her parents did, but I do expect better based on past experiences with you guys. If you were going to charge 12 percent gratuity on top of the party fee which goes to the game operators and kitchen, as Jack told us, there should be better service across the board. We did tip jack because we understand he's a young guy and that's how they make money. But it was an awful lot of money for a pretty poor experience. The team there wasn't even apologetic for the bowling experience or the lack of attention. read more

I firmly believe in the rule that says "if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all", but the experience I had at main event was awful and I hope by leaving this post something will change. We brought my daughter and some friends to bowl at main event on a Saturday evening for her birthday. I made reservations online for 2 lanes for 2 hours. It was not cheap. We arrived at our lane exactly on time and my husband noticed they only gave us an hour. I spoke to 2 people who said they would get back to me, but didn't. I went to the front desk after a while and was told they added the extra hour. I went back to my lane to discover that only 45 minutes had been added. I considered complaining again , but decided it was too exhausting. To add to this, I ordered a glass of wine for myself which took around one hour to bring to me. The sodas and mixed drinks that others order in my party arrive after about 30 minutes. Terrible service. read more

My daughter was there this evening with some friends from HHS. First thing she tells me when she gets back is , "dad, arcades are scams". I asked why and she tells me how she hit the jackpot on one of the arcade machines for 1000 tickets however the machine only gave her 28. They called an attendant for help who proceeded to tell her, oh sorry, can't help you. Then asked for her card and walked away with it. She's young I get it and not confident enough to confront BS when she sees it. I'm extremely disappointed management does not train staff properly and your staff has zero ethics. Had a great time here a couple of years ago. Went back with our two grandsons. staffing shortage turned it into a frustrating time. While we know everywhere is suffering from this dilemma, it should be handled better. We made the mistake of eating lunch here, only one cook and very overworked waiters. Our order took soooo long. Finally two items came. one grandson got wings, soggy....rubbery skin, yechh. One got a cheeseburge, bun very hard. my husband and I both ordered a chicken sandwich. After a long wait we were told he accidentally only put in one order. the boys were almost done when one chicken sandwich came out. It tasted burnt. Later came the second one, we ate in shifts. I would suggest when that short handed just offer pizza and one other item. Then just keep rolling that out. After all this, not one drink comped. Nothing. We were polite and patient but it was like a two hour debacle. The ropes course was closed. Operated didn't come to work. So we bowled. Not the experience we hoped for. read more

FIRST ever review (67 yrs old). Arrived with a guest from Venezuela. The front counter guy could not have been more helpful. I explained that I had a vision issue from an eye surgery debacle. He helped me through everything that I needed to know and treated me like gold. While bowling, we had a server named Daniel. Daniel was working very hard, but even went out of his way to translate for my guest. His being bilingual was a godsend. I tried to leave Daniel a $15 tip, but asked him to help me finish, as I couldn't read the screen because of my eye situation. This 5 star review is for Joseph in Winners Circle. If it wasn't for him this wound have been a 2.5-3 star experience. First it was a holiday (MLK) and the front desk had 2 people at the desk - the line was to the door 10 mins after they opened. Once I was at the front the guy was awful. So not helpful. Then I went to get in line for the ropes for my son and his friend and Joseph helped us. That is when our experience started to turn around. He helped me set up times for laser tag and the ropes course. He was amazing. While the kids were playing my girlfriend and I sat down at a table in the back of the bowling and our server was great - I think his name was Josh?! The food took about 25 mins but we were expecting that. The drinks came quick and the kids drinks are only a 1.50! Win! Then we hit the arcade with $40 for each kid and a 30 mins free play card (used for racing games) for signing up for emails. They ended up winning 1075 tickets each! But one game didn't register the tickets and my son didn't get 100 tickets - Joseph to the rescue - he saw the game I was talking about on my sons card and credited the tickets. My son was so happy. Finally, checking out and picking out their prizes was so fun. My son got a soccer ball (550 tickets), a plastic foot ball (110) and a few other things. In the end, everyone left with smiles in their faces. I told Eric the manager about our experience and he agreed he was working on the front of house. We will be back. In all we spent - $19.95 for unlimited activities (my son did 4 laser tag games and 2 times on the ropes course) $55 on food & drinks and it included a $30 arcade play card Added $10 on the arcade card Total - $85 and spent 11am-5pm and has a great time. We have been here a few times on the weekends and weekdays. There is no host. The staff will look at you standing there and will not acknowledge you. I would not call the staff servers. You have to flag them down to get any service. We order on the kiosk, get our own refills and if we need anything we have to go up and ask. We do not tip 20% because we get absolutely no service. All we get is a person who drops off food. They have tunnel vision and will not look at you when they pass by. You can sit there for 20 minutes at a table and nothing. Order from the kiosk, pay at the kiosk, get your own refills and extras. If you do that you'll have a better time. read more
