Found out via email that the HR site closed for three days for renovations. I responded by email to a returned email due to full mail box. Thought I'd share here then. Hoping the flour tortillas machine is on your list. We've been patrons since the OG Holly site opened. It's our main joint, but we do hit the HR site regularly too as our family meets in the middle from a lot. The last several outings have been terrible, this Saturday the worst of the bunch. Told the tortilla machine was broken, only for fajitas. No Modelo beer and then wrong order (Verde topping on enchiladas which was not asked for) to which the waitress told my wife, do you at least want to try it before I ask for a new plate to be made. She honestly didn't seem to want to try and make it right when my wife told her she didn't order that. Love your places and we hope to continue to support you, but not at HR site for the foreseeable future as the staff there doesn't seem to care much about the patrons lately. We went here on a Friday night around 8:30pm and it was quite busy! We ordered the rajas con queso and the Mexican hamburger and were both very pleased with the dishes! The rajas con queso did state it came with 6 corn tortilla and instead came with 2 flour though, I was happy about them turning out to be flour, but wish I'd gotten more than only 2. We were a bit surprised the cocktails were all basically $17+ and because of that, didn't end up ordering a drink but the margaritas that went by us looked good and large! read more

Met my large adult son here for lunch. First time at this location, but it's the one closest to him. The food was wonderful, but the experience was marred by sloppy and neglectful service, alas. Son works from home on Saturdays, and only had an hour. Server asked if we wanted drinks, we said that water was fine, and he left. He did not return. We finally asked someone to please find him. He took the lunch order, brought it to us, and vanished again. Once again, we had to ask someone to find him and bring the check. This was annoying and not up to the standard set by Los Dos on Holly. However, the food, as always, was wonderful. Son had steak fajitas, and I had the tacos adobada. So good! The decor is similar to Holly. Booths, tables, bar, but more windows. The wait time took forever, for my family it took us (11 people) around more than an hour to get a table (no reservations either), my dad ended up saying something to the wait staff up front, which I'll bring up later. I politely asked if they had a milder salsa and the female server actually rolled her eyes and yelled out to someone near the kitchen "We need MILD over here"! Causing several tables to turn and look at me and some even laughed! I was humiliated. It's not my fault I have digestive problems. Then it was about 7-10 minutes for a male server to come and take our drink orders. We saw 2 tables that were seated after us get waited on first. Took several minutes to get our drinks, and it took awhile to receive the food. My husband got Fajitas and requested corn tortillas and received flour tortillas. He didn't complain fearing trying to get corn tortillas would be a wait, and his food would be cold so he just ate the flour tortillas. We waited a long time to receive the bill. I have to admit, Los Dos has very good food, but the service is a real turn off. I grew up coming to Los Dos Potrillos, so coming here always has some form of sentimental value. But I've also been to countless other Mexican restaurants over time, so I can say with confidence that Los Dos is one of the best and most consistent out there. I've been to most of their locations (haven't been to the Parker location yet), and they are all exactly the same although I enjoy coming to the Highlands Ranch location the most because of the location right next to the movie theatre. I feel like the most important thing about a Mexican restaurant is its table salsa, and the table salsa here happens to be my favorite food item of theirs. It's chilled, spicy, and they're usually pretty generous with giving you more. But the other notable thing about their food is the humongous portions. I always get the shredded beef burrito and leave the place barely able to move. Their chimichanga is legit also. Smothered in delicious green chile, burritos, chimichangas and enchiladas are what you should be getting here. Like most sit down, brick and mortar Mexican restaurants, the way to play them is to get something smothered. Don't bother with tacos or any other traditional-type Mexican dish. The service is also very efficient. You can come to eat and be out the door very quickly, but their large drink menu and delicious salsa could also keep you hanging around here for a while. read more
