We went here on a Friday night around 8:30pm and it was quite busy! We ordered the rajas con queso and the Mexican hamburger and were both very pleased with the dishes! The rajas con queso did state it came with 6 corn tortilla and instead came with 2 flour though, I was happy about them turning out to be flour, but wish I'd gotten more than only 2. I got a $20 steak burrito that had maybe 4 strips of steak that were chewy with nothing else in the burrito. $5 for a side of rice and $2 for guac....didnt even get the guac. Met my large adult son here for lunch. First time at this location, but it's the one closest to him. The food was wonderful, but the experience was marred by sloppy and neglectful service, alas. Son works from home on Saturdays, and only had an hour. Server asked if we wanted drinks, we said that water was fine, and he left. He did not return. We finally asked someone to please find him. He took the lunch order, brought it to us, and vanished again. Once again, we had to ask someone to find him and bring the check. This was annoying and not up to the standard set by Los Dos on Holly. However, the food, as always, was wonderful. Son had steak fajitas, and I had the tacos adobada. So good! The decor is similar to Holly. Booths, tables, bar, but more windows. Ambience isn't as bustling as Holly. No lackadaisical servers there. The restaurant was mostly empty at 2 pm on Saturday, making the neglect rather puzzling. read more

We have been coming here for 8 years, and sad to say we will no longer be coming here due to a decline in their service. How is that they quote us with a 45 minute wait and the same size parties or bigger get sat before us? And when we asked for an update we were met with rudeness and false "it's almost ready". They catered our wedding and we have been coming weekly so this is disappointing. Disappointing experience at Dos Potrillos. KAYLA , our waitress, took an unusually long time just to take our order, even though we were the first table seated in her section. After waiting far too long for our food, it turned out my order was completely forgotten. Keep in mind, this is only a party of 4. No explanation or urgency to fix the mistake, until it was brought up to her attention by me. Poor service from start to finish, and definitely not what I expect when the restaurant wasn't even busy. it must've been her first day because of the lack of professionalism and experience ! I've been to this location with my sister and brother in law a few times and it never disappoints. I went big and ordered the large margarita on my last visit and man, did it hit the spot! I really enjoy the chicken fajitas because they don't skimp on the chicken or veggies. I like that there are a lot of accompaniments with which to top the fajitas. This is a go-to highlands ranch Mexican spot. We've been countless times and we always have good food and great drinks. We love to get the street taco plate and love the fresh flour tortillas. It does get very busy during certain times so it's best to go in off-times or when you have the time for a wait. It had been awhile but we decided to head back to Los Dos for lunch after church. This place is always busy, but we were able to be seated quickly. We received water and chips and salsa quickly. But as usual, the service was what drags my rating to 3 stars. They bring complimentary chips and salsa to the table which is nice, but due to some GI issues I have I can't tolerate extremely spicy food. The salsa was HOT! I politely asked if they had a milder salsa and the female server actually rolled her eyes and yelled out to someone near the kitchen "We need MILD over here"! Causing several tables to turn and look at me and some even laughed! I was humiliated. It's not my fault I have digestive problems. Then it was about 7-10 minutes for a male server to come and take our drink orders. We saw 2 tables that were seated after us get waited on first. Took several minutes to get our drinks, and it took awhile to receive the food. My husband got Fajitas and requested corn tortillas and received flour tortillas. He didn't complain fearing trying to get corn tortillas would be a wait, and his food would be cold so he just ate the flour tortillas. We waited a long time to receive the bill. I have to admit, Los Dos has very good food, but the service is a real turn off. I can't say we won't ever return as we do like the food, but we would go a lot more often if we experienced better and kinder service. read more

I grew up coming to Los Dos Potrillos, so coming here always has some form of sentimental value. But I've also been to countless other Mexican restaurants over time, so I can say with confidence that Los Dos is one of the best and most consistent out there. I've been to most of their locations (haven't been to the Parker location yet), and they are all exactly the same although I enjoy coming to the Highlands Ranch location the most because of the location right next to the movie theatre. I feel like the most important thing about a Mexican restaurant is its table salsa, and the table salsa here happens to be my favorite food item of theirs. It's chilled, spicy, and they're usually pretty generous with giving you more. But the other notable thing about their food is the humongous portions. I always get the shredded beef burrito and leave the place barely able to move. Their chimichanga is legit also. Smothered in delicious green chile, burritos, chimichangas and enchiladas are what you should be getting here. Like most sit down, brick and mortar Mexican restaurants, the way to play them is to get something smothered. Don't bother with tacos or any other traditional-type Mexican dish. The service is also very efficient. You can come to eat and be out the door very quickly, but their large drink menu and delicious salsa could also keep you hanging around here for a while. read more

My spouse and I had lunch at this restaurant today. I had their Mexican fish, which was so overcooked and dried out that it was unrecognizable as fish and inedible. It had to be sent back. I replaced it with their pork chop plate, which was marginally better but tough and also overcooked. My spouse had an enchilada plate. He didn't send it back but should have. He said the chicken tasted old (which is very easy to spot with chicken) and the beef was flavorless. He didn't finish his meal. On the plus side, the place is clean, and service is fairly attentive. The Chips and salsa are delicious and the rice and beans are good. But those things just aren't enough at today's prices. Based on today's experience, we won't be going back, and I cannot recommend the place. IMO, they need a much better cooking staff. This is the first location I had ever been to Los Dos and I still love it. It can get super busy around peak times and their bar area to wait it pretty small. Those are my only complaints. Once you get seated, the service is always top notch, the food is always delicious and they make you feel at home. This place is a great Denver staple. Love the family that runs it. Please take your quesabirria tacos off youmenu. I tried them a couple times at the Littleton location. Once was fine and the second the tacos were so soggy, it was not pleasant. So I waited about a year, thinking since they are now on the menu and not just a special, that maybe they improved them and that people must like them. So last night, we went to the Highlands Ranch location and I gave them another try. When I tell you the meat was so tough & gristly and the tortillas were just as soggy as the last time. I even asked for them extra crispy to try and correct the issue preemptively. These tacos were absolutely disgusting. We had to use two hands to hold the taco and then rip the meat apart. Ugh. They have no business serving these to customers and I will never order again. There is no way the kitchen staff didn't see how bad the meat was when making the tacos. Love Los Dos and will order other things going forward, but customers will ruin their love of these specific tacos here. read more
