    Apple crumb cheesecake

I ran across this place to take my mom near her house on her birthday. The place is small but quaint. The service was great and friendly. We got the fried green tomatoes to start yum I got fish and chips and mom got beef stroganoff. For dessert mom had apple crumb cheesecake and I had chocolate cheesecake. Just a note the fried green tomatoes were so good I got mom some to go. Including drinks and nice tip about $87 I will definitely be back and highly recommend. We went on a Friday at 4:30pm something tells me they get very busy on weekends and have outdoor seating as well

Always a great experience at main street. Servers are friendly and attentive. Food is great and comes out fast. Cute little place if you are in monroe definitely check it out!

First time here and had some lunch!!! We will be back! We sat outside at the sidewalk tables. Weather was beautiful! Service was great...food was great!!! I had the grilled chicken salad and it came in a bowl!!! You don't see salad served in a bowl very often and I loved it! Ingredients were fresh, portion was very good and I didn't have to ask for extra dressing!!! We will be back to try the dinner selections one day! When you go, get ready to guess how many pennies there are on display (thats all I'm gonna say!)

Tried the Bistro out on a whim and we were really impressed. We come a few times a month now! The ambiance inside is a small, quaint bistro vibe and eating outside is a real treat. Service is amazing and the food has been phenomenal. Only bummer is having to go inside to register to pay instead of being able to pay your server which is fine, just kinda annoying. We had the fried chicken salad, burger, quesadillas, Alfredo, chicken tenders, fries, and ice cream cookie sandwiches and ALL WERE DELICIOUS! Pros: Amazing food (everything we've tried we loved) Fair pricing Friendly staff Great outdoor seating Cons: Having to go inside to pay at register Closed Mondays and Tuesdays and early on Sundays.

    Date night in Monroe!

My wife and I decided to try a date night in Monroe and the Bistro seemed to have limited reviews that were mostly 4-5 stars so we decided to give it a go. I already knew what I was ordering after previewing their menu on Yelp. We ordered drinks then fried raviolis, Caesar salads and I ordered spaghetti & meatballs and my wife ordered the chicken parm entree. I enjoyed the fried ravioli and the red sauce had great flavor. The Caesar salad was good but the croutons were small square like the store-bought type. With that said, I did enjoy the salad. Considering this is an Italian style restaurant I was surprised that they didn't serve a loaf of bread with butter before the entree. I thought that complimentary addition was customary in a restaurant that serves Italian food. The spaghetti and red sauce was good but the meatballs were small and there was only 3 on the plate. There was more than enough pasta, but I would have rather enjoyed more protein and less pasta. My wife enjoyed the red sauce but she was not fond of the breading in the chicken parm. The chicken was more like a processed patty rather than what I expect in an entree of chicken parm. I enjoyed the limited meatballs with the red sauce and the toasted Ciabatta bread that came with the entree. I'm not sure whether my wife liked hers because she took most of the meal home to our son who seems to have 3 stomaches. She made a comment about the chicken not being what she expected. We both enjoy a good chicken parm. and when I tried hers it was the tendered chicken breast that we both normally enjoy. Next time I will heed my own advise and wait until a restaurant has an adequate sample size of reviews before trying it out.

First time exploring downtown Monroe. Read the reviews and had lunch! Great decision!! Sweet staff, great food and quick service. Ate our food before pic!! Empty plate speaks for the food! That was the bistro burger! Highly recommend!

Main Street Bistro offers a nice variety of Italian-themed cuisine that fills you up while not breaking the bank. Nice. We stopped in for a late leisurely lunch and were promptly greeted. Daily specials are on a large board so we each ordered one.  Afterall, if daily specials suck . . . well, why return, right? They didn't! The chicken in my wife's salad was fried perfectly and my mushroom penne was  delicious as well. After a couple bites the chef, Tom (whom we learned later is the owner), approached to inquire about his work. I stated the pasta needed more salt which he immediately agreed knowing how sensitive some diners are to sodium. A couple of shakes later and the dish sprang to life. I liked his attention to detail. The restaurant's  hope is "that every bite not only fills your belly but warms your heart!" You did and thank you. Looking to get your belly filled? Warming my heart to happy, too, on my "Give 'em a whirl" meter. Mangia qui!

Stopped by for dinner during the car show downtown. I ordered the salmon cake special but they were out but they had a salmon filet instead. They salmon filet was delicious!! Perfectly seasoned. The veggies were great and fresh. My husband ordered the chicken marsala. It was delicious and came with a salad and two sides! So much food and all delicious. Our server was new but did an amazing job! We sat outside and it was great service.

This is our favorite restaurant in all of Monroe. Maybe even one of our favorites of all time. The decor is adorable, such a vibe. The waitresses are so sweet and very attentive (it's always the same two ladies when we go and we usually visit for lunch). The food is incredible, I'm talking great. You can tell the chef truly cares about his dishes and they are packed with flavor and cooked with care. I also love that they prioritize fresher ingredients! My husband has a dairy allergy (I'm sure the chef and waitresses will recognize our order as soon as they read that part ) and they always take wonderful care of him making sure his meal is made and handled correctly. I also think the prices are reasonable and the location is great! This is THE place!

In fact, the kitchen accidentally made an extra order of Stracciatella and instead of letting it go to waste, he brought it out for us to try. It's not something I would have ordered on my own, but it was absolutely delicious, and now it's something I'll order every time I come back! For my entrée, I had the Penne alla Vodka and upgraded to the homemade noodles. The homemade pasta truly set this dish apart from other Italian restaurants I've visited. It was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The food, service, and hospitality were all exceptional. One thing to note is that the restaurant isn't very large, so I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time. This place is absolutely worth it, and I can't wait to return!

The biggest issue was that my vegetarian friend was accidentally served meat, which made her sick. While the staff apologized and offered a complimentary dessert, they never actually came back to take our dessert order. Instead, they brought the complimentary cannoli they normally provide for our other friends birthday and then charged us for it, which felt very strange given the circumstances. Service was inconsistent throughout the meal. Our cocktails were never empty, but our water glasses sat empty for most of the evening without a refill. It was one of those experiences where the attention seemed focused on the wrong things. The food was also not up to the standard I've come to expect. It wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't as delicious as previous visits. The bread was the standout and absolutely slapped, but the rest of the meal fell short of what I've had here before. We were also seated in my least favorite sunroom room where when you're in the booth you're basically at risk of head-butting the folks behind you. I'm hoping this was just an off night because I've had much better experiences at Little Mama's in the past.

You can tell immediately that Antonio and his team takes pride in what they do, because every detail feels intentional. The service, "Haleda" definitely one of my all time favorites, was the kind you don't forget: warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling forced. It set the tone for the entire night. And the food... unreal. Every dish was balanced, flavorful, and clearly crafted with skill. You know that moment when you take a bite and just stop talking for a second because your brain needs to process how good it is? That was me, repeatedly. This wasn't just a meal -- it was an experience. I recommend the Egg Plant Parmesan! The ambiance sealed the deal. Comfortable, stylish, and perfect for actually enjoying the people you're with. It's rare to find a place that nails both the vibe and the food, but this one does it effortlessly. Tonight officially raised the bar for what I consider a great restaurant. I'll be back, and I'll be recommending it to everyone I know! Thank you Antonio and Haleda for always an amazing experience and dinner!

Yuck. That's the word that comes to mind. We gave them two chances over the last couple of months,…read moreand I could not have been more unimpressed. The first visit was for brunch -- except there was no brunch. It's advertised as brunch, but the menu was dinner only. Pasta at 11am? We passed and left. So, dinner it was. They market themselves as Italian-inspired cuisine. If this is Italian, my foot is an eggplant. I rarely write harsh reviews, so bear with me while I go into detail. First, the cocktails. I ordered an old fashioned. The older gentleman behind the bar -- who I believe is the owner -- should not be making cocktails. If you're going to charge $20-25 for one, do it right. Invest in a mortar and pestle, skip the premade mix, and don't use bargain whiskey. Smoking the glass doesn't hide premade bitters or cheap bourbon. Second, the bread. No real Italian restaurant would serve this. My family and I genuinely wondered if it came from Aldi or Lidl with a dusting of flour to fake an artisan look. Third, the appetizers. We should have stopped here and gone elsewhere, but we pushed on. The calamari was rubbery, soggy, and greasy. The crostini was fine -- though it's hard to mess that up. Fourth, the entrees. I ordered the ossobuco. One look at the sauce and I knew this wasn't going to be right -- ossobuco shouldn't be sweet, and this was. The meat was okay, but the sauce ruined it. My wife saw my face and started laughing -- until she tasted her own dish. A real Italian restaurant should be able to make a proper tri-color tortellini. This one couldn't. The kids weren't impressed with their pasta either. The staff, though, were good -- no complaints there. Given how cramped the space was, we were genuinely impressed by how well they maneuvered around. In closing: beyond the questionable food, there was an off-putting vibe we might not have noticed if not for the manager's belligerence toward his staff -- we could hear him yelling at them in the back. Odd, considering he spent the whole time sitting at the bar while the owner flirted with one of the waitresses which was the only thing funny about this dinner. Overall, this is one of the rare times I'll say: avoid this place. Questionable food, questionable behavior. Our waiter, at least, was great.
