Met some friends for lunch. Menu offerings include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Dining room was clean and spacious. Restaurant was rather quiet for midday lunch rush. Everyone ordered breakfast (omelettes and pancakes), but I opted for lunch (1/2 corned beef & soup). I wish the corned beef sandwich had more meat, but that's just my preference. The split pea soup was good. Some peas weren't cooked all the way through (slightly chewy), but I chalked it up to being freshly made for the day. My husband seemed pleased with his western omelette and hash browns. My daughters devoured their pancakes. This is such a friendly establishment. My grandma didn't have too much of an issue getting in with her walker and was able to park it right next to our table. However, I will say to be careful though bc there isn't a lot of places to put a walker and it is quite narrow. The food here was fresh and delicious, all for a low price, and my grandma and I left feeling full. We were constantly checked on by staff and they all apologized "for the wait". Everything came out so quick there was barely a wait at all, even with it being a little busy! My grandma had an issue with how the sausage links were cooked and they were nice enough to take care of her and remake them, which I really appreciate. I would definitely recommend here because they go above and beyond to make you feel special, and the food is a great bang for your buck! read more

Our department had a work outing and the director chose this place for all of us to meet at. I'm familiar with the area, but never been here before! Walking in, the place is so cute and clean looking. We were not the only larger party there, which is a good sign. We had two servers helping our table, and everything went smoothly. I like their menu here, as they have a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner items to choose from. I went with the shrimp scampi and it came with a house salad. (no other salad choices like Caesar, etc.) My dinner was actually good and I loved every bite. They also serve booze here which is cool. I know this because my director ordered wine, and my boss ordered a liquor drink. I'm not sure how much the bill was since the school picked up the tab, but most everything here's under $20 for the most part. I really enjoyed my time and would return in the future. read more

Party of 6 : We were greeted & seated immediately upon entering on a busy Sunday early afternoon. After that we waited about 15-20 minutes before our waitress visited our table. She took both our beverage & food order at the same time. Food began arriving at the table about 15 minutes later. You could see everything was made for us with fresh ingredients-- hot & delicious! Although the waitress was a bit difficult to understand as she spoke quietly with the noise in the restaurant, everything we ordered came out correctly! Realistically, I would give this a 3.5. My first time here with my mom and we were starving while trying to find a brunch place. The inside is very nice and spacious in which we were able to choose where we sat. Our server was very nice and helpful. I ordered the Protein breakfast which included 2 eggs, 4 pieces of turkey bacon, and oatmeal. My mom ordered the Bikini breakfast with egg whites, turkey bacon, and a side of fruit. Our waitress offered me brown sugar and milk for oatmeal which I appreciated because it made it taste better. We shared the strawberry waffles which wasn't warm so it didn't taste freshly made but it still tasted yummy. I'm not much of a turkey bacon person but it wasn't bad but my mom thought it was a little salty. Overall, a decent brunch place with many food options and the target consumers seemed to be more older people/families. That is to say the food presentation lacks aesthetic compared to other brunch places but not a complaint. read more

We frequently order carry out from the Garfield Cafe to our office for lunch and really enjoy the food. Today though, we needed to have a conversation outside of the office 's thin walls. Brunch is my favorite so when I heard they have mimosas I was definitely excited! The cafe is cute inside and clean. The service was great, and we enjoyed our brunch. Of note though. We have been coming to this venue for decades; this used to be a health food restaurant called Friar Tucks, where it was conveniently located next to a Weight Watcher meeting place. With all the competition in the area who can blame the owner for flipping this place to have a new modern décor and added incentive of offering alcohol. The wine and cocktail prices are excellent choices with fair prices. The inside is inviting with an option to sit at either a table or a booth. The new paint and decorations are easy on the eye and offer a relaxing vibe. There are a lot of choices on the menu, much of the menu remains from it's previous offerings (before renovations). The soups are rock-star delicious. Mom had the Chicken Pot Pie which was dry but she did have a side of gravy to perk it up. I had Fish and chips; the fish was soggy and so/so, the fries were crispy and hot. The silverware was nice and sturdy...not as common as one might think so I appreciated it. The prices are a bit high but not unreasonable given the inflation we have all had to endure the past few years. If I could give a 0* I would! I'm going to repost this review as the owner asked us to remove it since they were allowing us to come back. But now they are complaining more so I'm reposting. Back in July we did a Christmas in July pop up shop next door to this cafe. We paid $800 to rent the hall AND a portion of the plaza. It was agreed upon with the OWNER of the plaza, and the owner of the event hall. We had 3 food trucks, lemonade truck, ice cream truck, and Kona ice. We also had 25 vendors INSIDE the building, and roughly 20 vendors outside. Mind you we HAD PERMISSON AND we paid. After roughly an hour of being there, the owner of the cafe came outside and started to harass my vendors, food trucks, and then took photos and videos of customers and vendors and sent them to the owner of the plaza. About 10 minutes later the owner of the plaza called Sarah Marie Hendrickson and started cussing her out to where she was in tears. AFTER he had said we were okay with being there and PAID, he said we had 20 minutes to get the hell out or he was calling the cops. The ONLY places that were open in that WHOLE plaza was 4 places. The bulk candy store, the cafe, the art gallery, and the newer place in the plaza. The cafe said that we were STEALING all their business. Mind you, our VENDORS were choosing to eat there because they COULDNT eat the food at the food trucks. And if their food was even THAT good, they wouldn't be afraid that the food trucks were stealing their customers. Our food trucks had DIFFERENT food than what the restaurant was even serving. The bulk candy store was super busy as we had no store to go to get drinks so we all went there. The gallery we could understand why he got upset because of the parking. But had ANYONE asked us to move down in the parking lot we would have! ALSO not one of our cars were even parked close they were all parked by the chiropractor office which WAS CLOSED. Fast forward to a month or so ago. We talked with the OWNER of the plaza AND the owner of the event hall, they BOTH said they had spoke with ALLLLL the business's and everyone was on board with this event and they were all good. I will post proof. So we booked the event with the event hall. Have been getting vendors to join, and started buying things for the event. Because it was going to be a VERY high traffic event and these businesses would have had A LOT of business. It was a TRUNK OR TREAT. They come back to us yesterday with "Hi Team, I am so sorry to share with you that a lot of pressure From current Tanents we can NOT do parking lot events, sorry again but a lot of pressure we can not support you" Now, after we've been advertising this since beginning of August, now we have to find a different venue, and we had TWENTY vendors cancel. That is OVER $1000 that we are now out because we have to refund EVERYONE. This is very unprofessional on all the owners parts. The venue, the plaza owner, and every owner of each business in the plaza. We will NEVER eat at this restaurant, or spend a penny in any of the businesses in that plaza. read more

The food is good, but find it very expensive for a family diner (serve alcohol, but still a family diner). Ordered a BLT, fries and a soft drink and price prior to tax was $22!! That is ridiculous. They charge $6 for a side of fries and for that price they should give us a whole basket for the table. read more

A group of us had dinner tonight to celebrate a birthday. I honestly wasn't expecting much, but I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised and we all enjoyed our dinners. Service was top notch. Very attentive servers and not a single error for a 12 person group. Drinks were refilled often and quickly. Very friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious, fresh, bountiful and very fairly priced. The owner came out and greeted us, and bought a round of drinks. I mean, you just don't see a lot of this these days. 3.5 would be more accurate. We need to implore yelp to include half stars. This must be a fairly new spot. It's between 17 and 18 mile on Garfield road. No signage on the actual building yet that I could see. The place is very modern and looks updated and very clean. The food was just ok to me. I've been to enough breakfast spots now to be able to distinguish the difference between an ok to a great omelette. I ordered the Mediterranean, which comes with feta cheese, onions, spinach and tomatoes. And hash browns, of course. Nothing stood out to me though. There was no seasoning on anything inside. All those veggies were bland, unfortunately. The hash browns were nice and crispy and the pancakes/sausage that my daughter got were pretty good. So a 3.5 would've been appropriate. First, they did a really nice job on the inside. Looks very clean and modern without feeling stiff or uninviting. Service was fantastic. Our coffee was keep hot during our entire time here and our server was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was good as well. The California Omelette had a nice amount of melted swiss cheese and a ton of avocado in the middle. I expected to have one or two small slices of avocado on top, but this really exceeded my expectations. The rest of the filling/toppings were abundant as well! The hashbrowns were pretty standard, but cooked to a crisp, which is how I like them! The only real downsides were the bread and bacon. The "rye" bread for toast was very plain... Seemed more like a standard white bread as there was no rye character at all and it was very dry. See my photo; the bacon was very sad :( Very thin and very crispy. Didn't feel like quality meat and it was $5 for those few strips. I'm glad to pay up for good quality bacon, but this was underwhelming for a side... but I bet it'd be good on a burger! Overall, I'd say this is a nice breakfast spot, and we do want to come back for lunch or dinner during the week. The Old Time Classics part of the menu is calling to me! read more

Absolutely LOVE this place! First time here, won't be the last. Super friendly staff, clean establishment & delicious food! My friend had the Greek salad with grilled chicken. She said the chicken was super flavorful & not dry & their dressing was homemade & delicious. I had their Maurice salad. This is the third restaurant I've had a Maurice salad at & I think this place was the best out of all. Homemade dressing, which was fabulous, LOTS of ham & swiss (diced not julienned, which was fine by me!) & lots of thinly slice baby sweet gherkins (I minused the olives & tomatoes). They have a broccoli & chicken strudel which I was contemplating on trying, but since I've heard rave reviews about their Maurice salad, I got that instead. My husband and I had such a nice dinner here. I cannot speak highly enough about our waitress Nancy she was exceptional! She was very attentive and anticipated all our needs before we even had to ask. Extra napkins, extra lemons, provided an extra plate for my very large salad along with a box with extra salad dressing for my leftovers. She was just so pleasant. My Maurice salad was delicious very close to the one at Hudson's that I remember from my childhood. My husband said the sliders were good but nothing special. There were an assortment of items I wanted to try so we will definitely have to come back. The restaurant is newly remodeled (formally Apple Annie's) with a modern yet comfortable feel. I hate to put in this review as I like a good restaurant with a light crowd, but the Garfield Cafe deserves your attention. You might recognize the location, but that's about all there is in common. The decor has been refreshed and highlights the openness of the seating areas. The salads, entrees and deserts were very good. As usual you get over served, but the flavor of your leftovers is going to be very good. I am looking forward to trying breakfast. Very good service from Lindsey. And having the owner - Paul, come out and introduce himself & take the time to talk with us was just the best! If you are there when they have the Lamb Chop specials - I highly recommend! Me and my friends went for brunch after graduation, there was mold on the cheesecake and they just went back and cut the piece with the mold off and gave it back to us, didn't offer to take it off the bill or anything, they also charge for refills and didn't say anything so I spent $6 on juice. I'll start with the decor: it's very pretty but cold looking. Very sterile. Looks pretty hipster and that's not a compliment. As for the food? Nothing special. It was $40 for a cheese omelette, Rueben, hot tea and a Coke. When I pay $12 for an omelette I expect it to be something good. This was just basic. Cheese omelette, hash browns , toast. They don't cook their potatoes enough. Both the fries and hash browns still had that raw potato taste. The food wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't worth what we paid. I won't be back. read more

My husband and I tried Garfield Café this past Sunday after church. I ordered the Mediterranean omelet, and he ordered the French omelet. Both came with hash browns and toast. My omelet was probably one of the best omelets I have ever had. So, so good and cooked perfectly. The service was great, everyone was so friendly. Restaurant was super clean.
