I know i set the appoint on my day off. I'm going to be honest I couldn't remember which day off. But I wouldn't make an appointment on a day I work so already I know they screwed up. She tried to say well it says here on the computer. Like I am stupid. Well rude lady maybe the person who made it on the computer screwed up. I came in to confirm and the receptionist with the tattoo head said oh yea it was yesterday. We tried calling and sent an email. I said my phone number and she finished it without even letting me. She said it didn't go through which must be a lie because it works. Not only that so does my email. Than she said we could reschedule tomorrow (Wednesday) but than said we would have to do it next week to which I said I am confused I thought you said tomorrow and than she said yea she confused too...long story short they can take their passive aggressive out on someone else I am going to another place which was much better and professional I tried to call back for feedback and they hung up on me the person was Linda she said that she thought I was spam. I was repeating what I was saying and she said oh no what happen. While initially visiting Main Street vision care was a positive experience, with a great provider of care, it became apparent later in the buying experience that Main Street vision care would rather not deal with anyone that has a "bigger" face. This is definitely not my first set of glasses, and have never had this issue before, but unfortunately Main Street only had two frames that would fit, and both were made so cheaply yet still cost hundreds of dollars with insurance. It's rather odd that my last two pairs of glasses, made by Warby Parker and Columbia (main stream brands) and fit my face just fine. They don't fall apart and I don't have to visit the optometrist every two weeks to have them modified to work. Yet the narrative is that my face is the problem. We asked if we could order another brand frame. We got a firm no. My wife was told she would need to pick men's frames. This was very hard for her to deal with as I'm sure any man would understand, but the staff at Main Street vision care don't seem to have a clue how this could be hurtful. I'm now on my second set glasses, the last option they had, and the lens just continuously falls out of the right eye when cleaning. Junkiest frames I've ever encountered. I just called and asked if I can just get a refund and go somewhere else, but apparently the same guy has to have pity on me and approve my request. Going somewhere else would have saved a lot of embarrassment and time spent. read more

Made an appointment for MLK holiday and said over the phone about 5x it was for the HOLIDAY on a Monday since I was off work that day and it's very difficult for me to find the time for appointments due to my job and commute. They never sent me a confirmation email for my appointment, I just assumed she scheduled it correctly. Called to update my insurance info since receptionist couldn't figure it out and she scheduled me for the next day which was not a HOLIDAY. Ended up not being able to go and couldn't schedule somewhere else since it was now last minute. Receptionist did not apologize, I understand mistakes happen but realize it is very difficult for some people to fit appointments in and is difficult to reschedule. Would not recommend this place just due to interactions with front desk. read more

Certainly not the most professional experience that I had here. Whoever the older assistant is who helps you test eye pressure and things like that is a basket case. Absolutely needs to be retrained in customer service. Speaking or shouting loudly do this do that cetera as if you're doing something wrong and in the end, she ran the tests incorrectly. Then there's the rest of the staff who wanders around the office takes a seat and complains how they don't want to be at work. Someone came in without an appointment and was granted an appointment period don't really understand the hypocrisy behind that when they insist you must have a schedule appointment. Absolutely not coming back. For those of you that want to visit this place, have fun. read more

Terrible experience from management all the way down the employee pipeline. Had been going there when it was Longmont Vision Center. As soon as the former owner sold the business and retired from optometry, things really tanked. Had a few hostile conversations with the manager and caught staff in a lie. She was not only rude but down right antagonistic about the former owner's form of patient care. They wouldn't honor any of his past practices in what became another money grab. Why would you alienate entire families that built the business you bought? Won't be going back and informed my family to do the same. I guess all good things must come to an end. AVOID. read more

Normally I would say yes to a business like this as we have gone here for a few years, but not this year. I came in for my 2 year check up and new glasses and looked at rimless glasses. Not realizing that men and women's rimless were mixed in the box I chose a pair of glasses that I thought would work for me. Unfortunately when I got home I realized that my glasses kept sliding down my nose and then a few days later I realized that they were too long in the ears length. I compared them to my old glasses and then realized that I got a pair of men's glasses. I don't know why they didn't just let me know that what I picked out was men's glasses??? I'm a bit irritated at the fact that they measured me for them and no one said a word. So because they didn't let me know this I'm taking them a 1 star. read more

This is the worst place I have ever received new glasses. There docs separated & they mixed up my records. I had my eyes checked in Jan. Of 2022 here it is Dec. & I'm still wearing old glasses. They did not check my eyes correctly or didn't make the glasses right. They re-made them 7 times, & I paid close to 500 bucks for them. Do not go to this place. Didn't have a great experience here. Had an eye exam that went well with the male doctor; he was very knowledgeable and kind. They said it would take around two weeks because of COVID-19 which I was okay with. But after a month later and no call from them about any updated information on my glasses I called them to see what was going on and they said my frames were overheated and damaged by the lab techs putting the lenses in. so after I called them, then they decided to order another pair of frames. Two weeks later they call me to come in and pick the new frames up. I go in and they tell me that they can't get the lens into the frame. Why even call me in if the glasses aren't even ready? I understand Covid is having an impact on businesses but this business is just sloppy. read more

Bad reviews for a reason! Paid $300 for new lenses in my existing frames, but was told I need to sign a waiver saying if they break my frames (which are in great condition - otherwise I'd be buying new frames and lenses) they have no responsibility. The waiver made clear they'd still keep my money regardless, and that's just unreasonable. So I wouldn't sign it as written and the person helping me accepted that and agreed with me that the form was unfair. An hour or so later, the office manager "Angie" called me, told me my existing frames are "weathered" (what?) and likely to break, and they won't work on them until I sign a waiver. Even more reason not to sign your ridiculous form! It's too bad because the doctors are good and my whole family has been going here for years, but I'll have to find a new provider. Angie was raising her voice and interrupting me on the phone. Haven't experienced treatment like this anywhere. I guess they don't need the business! So do yourself a favor and take yours elsewhere. read more

My first visit at Main Street Vision Care was impeccable. Receptionist was friendly, knowledgeable and had no problems looking up my VSP insurance. The office is warm, welcoming with a large selection of frames. The equipment is all the latest technology, the assistant doing the preliminary testing was informative and efficient. Dr. Koning was friendly and genuinely sociable, he was of course knowledgeable and upfront about my vision needs, and gave me options to get light prescription glasses, but informed me that I still didn't really need them 7 years after lasik. I really couldn't ask for a better visit! read more

Worst experience ever! I only need the lowest prescription of readers, however I thought bifocals would be easier to manage while teaching. So that was the avenue I wanted to explore. After my appt. I looked at frames and chose one. Totaling everything up after my insurance it was $400! I told them I would have to ask my husband and transfer money out of savings. I was supposed to call them the best day and never did. Several weeks later I went in to pick up my sons glasses AND they had ordered the glasses! I was beyond surprised. At this point I told them I wasn't comfortable with the price. I had to pay a $50 fee for glasses I NEVER authorized them to order. I paid it and never went back and wrote a letter informing the doctor what I had experienced. I never heard back. However, the worst part is yet to come. A year later I went to a new eye doctor and my insurance said I was ineligible for new glasses yet. What??? I had never even ordered glasses! They had to go back and forth with the insurance. And when the insurance called Longmont Vision they said I had taken the glasses home! What??? They never apologized the first time for mistakenly ordering them. They charged me a fee, which I paid for their mistake. AND then they lied to my insurance!!! They told them I was the one who ordered the glasses and then didn't want them, AND that I had taken them home!!!! I understand miscommunications happen and that is why I paid the fee. Trying to take responsibility for my not telling them upfront the glasses were to expensive. However, This Is Serious Dishonest Practices. I was appalled they told my insurance it was my fault!!! My new eye doctor said she has never charged a fee for lenses returned. I felt I had been scammed and was dealing with some kind of crazy marketing scam gone bad, not an eye doctor!!! Thankfully I have a new eye doctor and don't have to worry about being treated this badly again. read more

I have called and left a message to inquire about the stats of my glasses that where not made correctly and I had to send them back. They said it would be 2 weeks and now it is over a month. No one ever called back and we are going on day 4 from when I left a message with the lady who answered the phone. I have also used their online contact form and no one has ever emailed me back. I've been to several optometry offices over the years due to moving and have had glasses and contacts for over 10 years. This place was my favorite. All staff that I met were very friendly. The receptionist at the eye doctor portion of the building was extremely sweet and kind. Dr. Neka was wonderful. She is very knowledgeable and friendly. I also liked how she explained all the rebate options available for my contacts and was sure to give me an itemized receipt. Several places will hand you the rebate paper and send you off. Anything helps when it comes to paying for contacts! They also have a great website that you can schedule appointments on. It was easy to use and it worked. They also offer a great variety of appointment times which is awesome if you work M-F like me. I will definitely continue to follow up at this office and highly recommended it to anybody. read more

I had a great experience here. Everyone was friendly, from the receptionist to the doctor. They even found a spot on the back of my eye that no one has ever told me about in the 12 years I have been wearing contacts. They took awesome pictures of it and even emailed them to me so I could have them for my own records to watch it over time. They took a lot of time to go over my three different insurance plans with me to get me the best deal on glasses and contacts. I don't think I could have asked for more. read more

Don't bother going here because no one will acknowledge you are in the store. I went in with my daughter to try on glasses. We walked in and not one person said anything. That would have been fine, but it was obvious that I was trying on lots of frames and for 20 minutes no one even bothered to see if we needed anything. I thought about going over and saying excuse me, but when I walked over towards the counter there wasn't any attempt on their part. I took my daughter and left. After a not so great experience at Eye Care Center, this place was a 360 degree turn around. This place had the most patient and knowledgeable staff. Doctor was great and very helpful. For a person getting their contacts for the first time, they made my experience as good as it can get. There were no surprises at the end, for the amount of co-pay I had to pay. I waited to go through the whole process before posting this review, to be sure there were no surprises...and there weren't !! This place is a joke. My husband went in for his eye appointment in early June and ordered glasses. His current prescription was old and his glasses were broken, so he needed both pretty quickly. It took MONTHS to get "his" glasses. He called every couple of weeks and either no one would answer, no one would return his voicemails, or they would use Covid as an excuse to never get back to him. "We don't have any doctors in right now because of Covid." "We are down employees because of Covid." "The orders will take awhile because of Covid". Keep in mind, he ordered flat black Ray-Bans and paid a hefty amount of money for them upfront. He kept calling and calling. Finally, one gal PROMISED him they would be in soon. "They were just waiting on 'his' frames to be shipped in and then they just had to put in the lenses." They called him and told him to come in this morning (2.5 months later with NO glasses to wear). He shows up at his appointment time only for them to hand him THE WRONG FRAMES. He told them they weren't his and they confirmed that they were what he originally ordered. When he told them he ordered plain ol flat black ones, the lady said "ohhhhh those were discontinued. You didn't know that??" Of course he didn't know that because NO ONE ever called him. They tried to excuse the mistake by saying that the gal who ordered his wrong frames no longer works there. Well, gee, that fixes everything! So now he is stuck paying a ridiculous amount of money on frames he never picked out. He told them he was never going back and would be better off going to a chain optometrist like Pearle Vision because at least they would communicate and provide him with the product he purchased. Don't waste your time or money at this place. Sometimes it is good to support small town businesses... but not when they treat customers this way. read more

This office is awesome! From the beginning when you walk in the office, to your exam and working with the doctor, to the time you leave, you actually feel like you are family with all the staff here! I have worn glasses since I was 15 or 16. Dr. Koning was the first Optometrist to mention to me that contacts would actually be better for me than glasses because of the shape of my corneas. He also took the time to explain to me how much the technology in contacts has changed in the past few years to make it much more comfortable for people with astigmatism (such as myself) to wear contacts and have great or even better vision than with glasses. When I heard this, I was thrilled, because no one had ever mentioned this to me before and it was such great news that contacts might actually help my vision increase that much more! Kyle, the Optometric Assistant who worked with me in helping me learn how to insert them and take care of them, etc... was incredible too. I have never worn contacts before, and considering that I was needing rigid scleral lenses that are larger than other styles was going to be a trick with helping me get tin with ease. But thanks to her incredible patience, guidance, and knowledge she eventually got me to a stage to where I can now get them in with ease each and every day! If you want to feel like you have an optometrist who truly cares for you and your eyes, this is the place to go! Dr. Koning and Kyle, you have a patient for a long, long time to come!!! I provided a frame to Longmont Vision for sunglasses. Their normal turnaround time is 2 weeks for return. TWO WEEKS. After calling several times I was informed that the lab broke the frame. Because the lab was unable to replace the exact frame, I had to buy another frame and have Longmont Vision send them out again. Another 10 days later I received the completed sunglasses. The lab would not reimburse me for the additional expense of another pair of frames due to their carelessness nor would Longmont Vision. I would have to take the matter up with my insurance company. My friend had 3 pair of glasses made in less than a week at the Optical Centre. Go there or even Walmart has a faster turnaround time than Longmont Vision. Tried to make an appointment for a Saturday, as I work full-time and am on my last pair of contacts. Was told I have to wait until 10/18 because I am not "allowed" to see a different doctor from last time. I tried explaining that I was choosing to do so and the previous doctor had only seen me once. Frankly, I wasn't all that impressed with the original doctor in the first place - he was just who happened to be available the day I went. Apparently freedom of choice is not part of this clinic's "policy." I will be going elsewhere from now on. read more

I hate writing this review because honestly the doctors are great! The problem is you have to go through the completely rude and unapologetic front desk staff. I do not understand why these women are so rude. When they make mistakes which happen OFTEN they don't even apologize and or try to make it right. All you get is the "too bad for you" stare and you're sent on your way. It is so unfortunate because again the docs are great. My family has been going here for years (20+) and just putting up with the staff but I think it may be time for a change. Hopefully the physicians that actually make the money and pay the wages realize their staff is costing them money. read more
