Plenty of parking available. The staff gets to know locals and they treat them like family. It's easy to spot regulars as the staff does need to provide them menus. Glad to have the Maine Attraction nearby. Prices are on par with the other seafood shacks in the surrounding towns. Good quality and is the perfect fried food fix when we're craving something "bad" and delicious! Can't go wrong with their ice cream either, Gifford's brand is always sure to hit the spot. I am not a fish person, but I am SO EXCITED to come back to the Maine Attraction. I came with my father for dinner and we had a great meal. The restaurant felt like it was straight from Maine, but it was actually clean! The menu had a good variety of traditional fried seafood, as well as a good selection sandwiches for the landlubbers, all for a reasonable price. My tuna roll was perfection, but the seafood chowder really stole the show. It was incredibly thick - almost like a casserole or mashed potatoes rather than soup. I really appreciated that, but some people might miss the traditional chowder consistency. Great flavor and lots of fish. For a quick bite to eat I would definitely recommend stopping in here! We ordered the fisherman's platter and it was delicious. The clams were whole belly, the scallops were large and sweet and there was a large tasty piece of fish with small shrimp and fries. You can sit inside or out and there's a Great Lake view to make it even more quaint. The best part....Giffords ice cream! Everything here was all about Maine, from the food to the decor. Ice cream was great. However I was completely ignored when I asked for a spoon for my sons ice cream that came in a cup. I'd suggest some hygiene training as the boy making our cones coughed all over his arm and wiped his face then made our ice creams with no gloves and without washing. We were leaving Brimfield for our annual trek to the antique show and stumbled upon this place. We only tried out their ice cream, but it was awesome! Lots of flavor choices and they have Gifford's Ice Cream which is consistently good. Their milkshake was thick, creamy and super chocolate-y. I will be stopping back in September when I'm back in the area! They do lose out on a star or two from the snottiness of the young girl taking orders at the window. I grew up eating fresh seafood from Maine. What I got at Maine Attraction was NOT fresh. I got the whole belly clams for $13. It was takeout and it was a VERY small box with wax paper stuffed in so it took up room. The clams were not fresh, they will never convince me that they were. I have never had such lousy clams in my life, really disturbingly chewy. There was a funky taste to them which led me to believe they were canned or frozen and then dipped in batter and fried. I could not finish them, and only ate some because we paid $13 for them! We will never eat there again. If you want Gifford's ice cream they sell it at Ashford Dairy Bar. They don't sell whole belly clams there, but the food has always been good! read more

So here goes my review, I am a positive and happy person, that being said I have been here in Holland living for 26 years and have been eating here for a while! The only time it was good and HAPPY was when Team Hoyt owned it! I go here because my grand daughter does not really see the unfriendliness as I or her mom(my daughter) do because she is legally blind and also loves clam strips! We too at first got our food and went inside to sit because my grand daughter has Albinism and can not be in the sun, we were told after siitting that it was for full service only, we also apologized and said we would leave, she said it doesnt matter now the table is dirty and i have to clean it. I dont know her name but she has brown hair and is always there and always mean. I asked myself why work in this line of work if your not happy doing it? The food is not great but it is the time together with family that matters. I also would like to say that they should stop slamming that screen window down on you it is not nice. Was highly disappointed to have paid extra for jimmies only to receive about a teaspoons worth on my ice cream. Should have known it'd be lacking when the girl in front of us was given her ice cream. She was handed a cup and immediately asked "didn't I order a cone?" ... girl behind the counter freezes then rudely barks "no you asked for a cup!" and pointed to the pad. I can't get over how rude the waitress/owner is to us and our children. We just moved into the area and wanted a new "spot" for family night... We even tried to go a few times hoping it would improve. NOPE! She does NOT like children and was very rude to our 3, including our 1 year old who loves to visit and smile with anyone that will give him their time. One time in particular he went NEAR a briefcase/bag she had sitting out in the dining area because he was looking at a wooden picture that had not been put up yet and was sitting on the floor. She swiftly came out from the kitchen as if he was rifling through it or something and asked that we not have him anywhere over there and moved it about a foot from where it had been so it was slightly behind and old unused counter. She gave not only us the adults, but our children attitude when we ordered and had any questions or didn't answer correctly. THE LAST STRAW was the Fourth of July, when we went with our family of 5, my mother in law, and niece, for icecream. (We'd been at least 6 times before for dinner and icecream) and we had to PAY for a new scoop of icecream when mine fell to the ground after 2 licks and it had a broken side when she handed it to me! SO WE PAID because my husband didn't want it to be a big deal since we come often and had even gotten the kids tshirts to support their place! IT WAS RAINING and getting cool, so the kids asked if we could go stand inside. We figured it was fine since there were only 2 tables that had people. We walked in, my mother in law and niece sat at the closest table to the door, and my 1 yr old walked over to the unused counter area smiling at the table of 2 and pointing to the large fish that were new on the wall... So excited! What happened? WE WERE ASKED TO LEAVE or sit down for full service. I explained that we had been there many times and understood, but it was raining and my daughter was cold so we thought we'd step inside for a bit. Her response was "yeah I know". Unreal!! So, we went back outside in the rain and then decided to just finish our cones in the crowded vehicle. I'm so disgusted with this place. After all the ridiculous money we spent on over priced food for at least 6 people at a time... And she just can't control her attitude!! So sad, you'd think they'd want a nice hometown feel with friendly service where the families in the area would want to keep coming! YOU'RE NOT WELCOME IF YOU HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN! That's for sure! OMG TERRIBLE, I read some good reviews on them so i thought i would give it a try, having been bye there on rides for years. It looked like a greasy spoon in the middle of nowhere. Being a foodie my gut said keep going, and against all instincts we gave it a try. I wish we took a pic of the smallest and worst presented lobster roll of all time, when i say it was three bites I'm being generous! thank god we ordered extra food,The fries and onion rings were clearly frozen and as greasy as my small-block Chevrolet,the fritters were ok, When i asked for a cup of ice they didn't let me know there was a charge which should have been mentioned out of courtesy, I did purchase beverages after-all! After a few minutes of begging for the cups of ice we paid for! we were given a dixie cup with two cubes, My burger was like the one i get from the roach coach at work but not as tasty and 8 bucks!. And to finish my bad dinner, I needed to wash the grease off my hands face and arms so I wouldn't slip off my hand grips on the ride home, I was abruptly stopped at the bathroom door and was made a spectical of in front of all the dining room patrons and told to walk outside around the building under a tree about 200 yards away to a disgusting porta-potty that didn't have running water ?? yuck yuck! Stopped in for breakfast. I had eggs, homefries and bacon. My husband had an omelet. Everyone was very friendly, portions were generous and the homefries were particularly delicious.the bacon was cooked perfectly, as were my eggs. We will definitely be back to try lunch. Buyer Beware! My boyfriend and I went to the Hollands Maine Attraction in Mass in the past and it was very good until May 31st. It was not busy that day around lunchtime and the girl working there was very very slow.If it were a busy day then this place would of been in big big trouble.I ordered the whole belly clam platter for over 20 bucks. The whole bellies were good and the fries were good and the bun. But the coleslaw was old and was still being given out to the customers.They knew that the coleslaw was not fresh and still gave it out for the customers to eat.It was the worst coleslaw ever.Went right into the garbage pail where it belonged.So they don't care about their customers and only care about making the money.A whole belly clam platter should only be $9.99 tops.All platters are way overpriced here due to greed.Market value? Everyone knows there is no market value but just greed! Plenty of whole belly clams are out in the sea! Market value is a big fat lie just to charge more! My boyfriend ordered the fried shrimp platter for $14.95 and what a big mistake he made. The shrimp were the small shrimp and were to be used for shrimp cocktail and not meant to be fried.The shrimp tasted just like oil and were tasteless.They were the frozen kind you buy at the grocery store.What a rip off of $14.95.My boyfriend ate about 6 of the tasteless shrimp and his stomach was upset from all the oil.Also my boyfriends coleslaw that came with his platter was old and bad too and it went into the garbage pail as well.Stop nickel and diming all the customers too.You charge xtra for a piece of lettuce and tomato on burgers.That piece of lettuce and tomato should come with the hamburger.Pathetic! Tonight my family and I ate in the dining room of the Maine Attraction. I eat take out here at least once a week and I love it! One of my favorites is their fried scallops with their tarter sauce. I am not a big ice cream fan, but their ice cream is amazing! I have craved for their camp fire s'more ice cream even on a freezing cold day! Tonight, my father who can be a real pain when he orders because he likes sides that restaurants do not always have, was surprised when our waitress was able to accommodate him. When he asked the waitress if he could have maple syrup on his ice cream, instead of a crazy look like I would have given him, the waitress smiled and asked him which of the three kinds they offered would he prefer! I am always happy with the food and service I get from Maine Attraction and I am so happy to have a nice seafood place to eat right here in town! read more

My boyfriend and I stopped by because we went boating and had passed it a few times. It looked decent so we decided to give it a try. We ordered two 8 inch steak bombs and a large fry. It took 10 minutes until someone took our order as we stood at the window. Which usually is not to bad if they are busy, (which it didn't look like.) but eventually they called our number and the lady who have us our food was super rude. She have us 2 ketchup packets to start so we asked for a couple more and she threw them into the bag. As we were leaving she slammed the screen to the pickup window down on us. The food was okay. I don't like giving negative reviews but I feel like I should speak up about my experience here. This place doesn't hold a candle to Team Hoyt's, which is what this restaurant used to be, and I won't be returning here in the future. It's really close to Bigelow Hollow State Park so it appears to be a good spot for seafood and ice cream after a day of swimming, but it's not. There's a window outside for ordering, where you are asked if you'd like to eat there or take your food to go, but if you choose to eat there...you aren't allowed to eat in the sitting area inside because it is reserved for "full-service dining customers" only. My friend and I ordered food to eat there, and when we went inside to sit down (it was 100 degrees out that day and we had both ordered hot food), the workers immediately started whispering to one another and giving us dirty looks. I asked if we were allowed to sit there and tried to explain that Team Hoyt's allowed us to bring food into the sitting area, and one of the workers rudely told me "the sign on the door says full-dining service only" (I should note that we were the only people inside). I apologized and told her we'd go back outside to eat, to which she replied "there's no point because she's going to have to wipe the table down anyway." Her attitude was unnecessary and it was obnoxious for her to act like wiping down a table for two seconds is such an inconvenience when it was just a misunderstanding. We went outside to eat anyway, because we weren't going to sit there while the workers continued to whisper and stare us down. There are about three picnic tables to choose from, so I don't know why they give you the option of eating there if the only place you are allowed to sit is at an old crappy picnic table in the hot sun. The food was just as awful as the worker's attitudes. For a $15 order of fish and chips, I would expect some salt on the fries and a better piece of fish. My friend ordered cheese fries which came with one slice of non-melted American cheese on top of some frozen, bland fries. We left still hungry and offended. I am hoping this place closes soon and that something with better food and service takes its place. read more

I have been to this restaurant 3 times. Each time, Jennifer, the co-owner was not customer service oriented. On our first visit, we got hot fudge sundaes. My husband asked for extra whipped cream and offered to pay for it. He got about one extra squirt and was charged for it. I asked for a squirt of hot fudge on the bottom of my sundae. You would have thought I asked for an extra scoop of ice cream. The attitude that we met with was not the way to run your business. We tried it again today. Though they have great ice cream, we will not be going back. I ordered a lobster roll and wanted coleslaw instead of chips. Our waitress was ok with that until Jennifer told her that she could not. She actually told the waitress that I could order the deluxe platter, which was $5 more and not get the chips. Like I said not customer friendly at all.
