    "HWY 50" sandwich for lunch!
    Tamami T.

Cute little corner cafe. Small, very clean, lovely decor and atmosphere. Great offerings on their menu. I had a hot pressed sandwich called HWY 50. It was delicious, but it was "warm pressed" at best. It should be hotter. Also I regret not asking for light on the dressing on the side salad. The greens are fresh and good though. It was a very good, comforting lunch after a long drive to Fallon. The service was wonderful too. Will come back.

    Beet Salad, perfection.

Started with the Beet Salad, it was not only delicious with fresh veggies, it was big! 9/10. The BBQ Bison Burger was very good with perfectly crisp bacon, brioche bun, solid pickle spear, and amazing fries. 8.7/10. The staff were great. A bunch of larger dining rooms in the back.

Fettuccine noodles with a rigatoni dish.

This review was a bit of a hard one as the place is really nice, outdoor seating was a really nice touch and the service was excellent. The problem was the Rigatoni Pomodoro Pasta. The elk sausage and the shrimp were cooked perfectly but the dish came with no basil (listed on the menu), there was no offer of parmesan or pecorino cheese, and there was no garlic bread as also listed on the menu. The overall dish was pretty bland. Also, there was a bunch of fettuccine noodles on the dish which wouldn't be a problem, but it showed a lack of care in preparing the dish. My wife loved her dish and I really, really liked the Brussel sprout appetizer with blue cheese and cranberries.

Delicious food. The cook is an amazing chef. The service sucks. Our waitress didn't even ask if we wanted drinks. She dropped water of and then asked for our food order. We had to ask another lady for the drinks and she took her sweet time and I feel like she was drunk. Worst device ever, best food I've had in a long time. So hopefully they get their act together with the servers.

First time coming here for lunch. It was pretty quiet consider we were the only ones inside until one other couple came in. I ordered the Gourmet Harris burger it was pretty good had a nice crisp outside non pink inside which is what I like and the blue cheese topping was tasty. Too many onions on the burger it took away from the blue cheese flavor. My favorite part was the fries they reminded me of Red Robin or rally's fries. I got a cocktail can't remember the name but it had vodka and cranberry juice in it. Sad to say I didn't even take more then four sips it was way too strong and very dry for some reason. I wouldn't recommend unless you like a boozy drink at lunch time. Some people do. I believe so what makes you happy! We also forgot our to go boxes on the table so I didn't get to finish those tasty fries or my other half of the burger. May need to stop back in to grab some of their artisan crackers and a couple bottles of wine for home.

    Mashed potatoes and steak frites

The food was very delicious. I got a side Caesar salad with mashed potatoes and steak frites. It usually comes with fries but I substituted fries for mashed potatoes. It was a good portion and well cooked. Good flavor on everything I order. The service was friendly and quiet. Small and cute indoors but later I realized there was another part of the restaurant. I would recommend eating here.

We sat on the outside patio which was super cute! The beautiful weather helped. Our server was friendly and we both enjoyed the steak and frites with the chimichurri sauce. Both steaks were cooked perfectly (rare and medium) and our fries were hot and crisp, just the way we like them! The chimichurri sauce was just ok but I make one at home that everyone says is hard to beat. We ordered a bottle of the Klinker Brick. The wine glasses weren't dirty but had water stains on them. I know there is hard water in the area but there are still ways to prevent that so I didn't particularly care that those wine glasses were brought out to us. But I also know I'm someone with high standards. They have some great wines on the menu and I just want them to get the appreciation they deserve! My last visit to this restaurant was a lunch take out order and the sandwiches we ordered were delicious. Overall we thought all of the prices were reasonable. Oh and our salads were delicious! We will be back!

Love the food and the service. I was in a rush, and was pleasantly surprised at their turkey sandwich. Delicious meals and always filling my palate! My new favorite restaurant.

A great Brunch on a Sunday afternoon. The menu was simple, and has all the areas (from pancakes to an all American) accounted for. The Huevos Rancheros was delicious and cooked well. The Chicken Sausage has a unique and amazing flavor! The Mixed Berry Tart Cheesecake was delicious (not the best cheesecake I've had, but it was certainly delicious and hit the spot!).

Meh. It wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't go back. Pancakes were kind of under cooked. Felt a but utilitarian.

Fajitas Gourmet popped up, and since my husband LOVES a good fajita, of course we had to stop! And I'm so glad we did! The place was PACKED when we got there, which is usually a pretty good sign. Everyone was eating, laughing and having a good time. It just had a really fun atmosphere. Our waitress was wonderful. She was so kind, sweet and attentive throughout our meal. They started us off with fresh chips and salsa, which were delicious. Of course, we had to try the Flaming Fajitas! And when they say flaming, they mean FLAMING. The presentation is such a neat experience. They bring them out and literally light them up into this huge ball of flames right at your table. Definitely check out my pictures and video because it was so cool to watch! And thankfully, they didn't just look good they tasted amazing too! My husband absolutely loved them and is already craving them again. We also tried the taquitos, and my daughter ordered a beef enchilada. Everyone loved their food. Everything we tried was flavorful and delicious. we also had the margaritas and those were really good too and actually had a nice little kick to them. What really stood out besides the food was the service. From our waitress to the bussers to the guys bringing out the food, everyone was attentive and kind. Just great service all the way around, especially considering how busy the restaurant was. This was one of those random road trip stops that ended up being a great find. My husband is already talking about going back, so apparently we're going to have to make a trip to Fallon one day just to eat here again. Trust the YELP reviews and make sure to stop here! Definitely worth the stop -- and GET THE FLAMING FAJITAS!

It's so delicious so make sure you save room for your platter because they keep it coming! Everyone in my group enjoyed their dishes and we were all stuffed only about a quarter way through our plates, but we pushed through eating at least half of our dishes (had a long work day). My specific dish was the Mole Enchiladas. It was good but I would have enjoyed more Mole sauce over the excess cheese. I could have just got the Mole and Chicken.. Having a group of 8, we had 2 servers attending to us regularly filling our drinks, chips, & salsa. We throughly enjoyed their atmosphere as they played different variations of Latin music. Tvs surrounded the restaurant and there was a bar towards the back.

Waiting for my car to be serviced, I was looking for something to eat. If you follow my reviews,…read moreyou know I'm always on the lookout for new places to try while supporting local businesses. We spotted JD Slingers and decided to check it out. The parking lot is small, and if you're heading east on Reno Highway, you could easily miss it since it's tucked behind the tall Depot building in the Bonanza Casino complex. We arrived around 8:30 a.m., and there were only about three other occupied tables. The menu offered much more than just breakfast, with everything from burgers to sandwiches to sirloin steaks, meatloaf, and other comfort food favorites. Of course, what immediately caught my eye was the pastrami sandwich! I love a good pastrami, but I'm pretty particular--I prefer leaner slices rather than the fattier cuts that many places serve. Our server, Anna, wasn't sure whether the pastrami was lean or not, but I decided to take a chance. I'm so glad I did! It was served on what I believe was a hoagie roll with just pastrami and pickles, and it was absolutely delicious. The pastrami was tender, flavorful, and just the way I like it. I only added a little mustard toward the end because the roll was a bit thick, but honestly, it didn't need any condiments. It was great just as it came. I opted for the coleslaw instead of fries, and it was a great choice--it was fresh, creamy, and paired perfectly with the sandwich. As we were finishing our meal, the restaurant became noticeably busier. Anna was the only server on the floor, yet she kept up with the growing crowd while continuing to provide friendly, attentive service. I also noticed the manager making the rounds to check on guests, which is always appreciated. Overall, this was a great first visit. Great food, friendly service, and a local spot I'll definitely be coming back to--especially for that pastrami sandwich!
