Ordered my daughter's birthday cake, they were very accommodating on a short notice custom order. The owner was in town and made it herself. It came out fabulous and it was delicious. Afterward, we stopped in to buy some cake pops and spoke with the owner to thank her for the cake. Always greats to support a small business owner, versus the bakery section of a big grocery store. We will definitely be back to the Dessetist to order more desserts when in town.

The owner told me which ones they had and I decided to go with a butter croissant, almond croissant, and a cheese danish. Overall, I was pretty unimpressed with their pastries. The croissant was average.. almost felt like croissants you can get at grocery stores rather than a bakery. The almond croissant filling was very eggy though i appreciated how not too sweet it was. The cheese danish had white raisins maybe? at the bottom which threw me off as Ive never had ones with them in it and I personally am not a fan of raisins. A professional baker who can't be bothered to speak with a potential customer, who can't be bothered to do more than offer a lazy average box flavored cake at the most ridiculously horrendous prices. It's almost funny. Slow to respond once contact was made and so absolutely "who cares" and snotty. It was an exciting event for me...I realize my life isn't important to her and her life isn't important to me but her business is providing a service for an event important to the customer, duh. I was trying to keep my business local and I completely believe in supporting local small businesses. I will never use this baker and I'm still mad at how she lazily strung me along with her "email only" contact. Can you imagine? You can't be bothered to speak to your potential customers. I have 2 businesses and I would never behave like this or I'd be done. But then again, I expect to be treated as I treat others, and customers are important. I made the above review based 100% on my own personal experience. I have had no influence anyone, I don't know anyone who has used her. I don't know her and I still have no idea what she sounds like or looks like. This was a disgraceful way to conduct business and this is the review you get for that uncomfortable and rude process. Happy ending though ...I got 2 speciality 3 layer cakes for under $100 from a place in Patterson. It was wonderful in the end but the stress of having to find someone last minute was awful. I am such a sucker for an almond croissant and Little Star Pastry's is easily one of my favorites. I love how much almond filling they put in it so the sweet almond flavor really comes through.
