I love this place! Two friends & I came for Sunday brunch and the joint was jumping - lots of happy people, lots of scrumptious food and lots of animated conversation. We had a reservation but we still had to wait because they won't seat a party until everyone's there and I was the late one. But they were sooo nice about it! They kept us informed as to what was happening with our table and even though everyone - wait staff & hostesses - were rushed off their feet, everyone was smiling & kind, immediately helpful to customers and patient with each other, such a warm, welcoming place that it made you happy to be there. And then there's the food! Oh sweet lord, the food! All three of us ordered the same thing - thick sliced challah French toast & fried chicken & coffee. Each portion came with 3 slices of French toast & 2 pieces of chicken - way more than the three of us could handle. But bless our server who suggested we order 2 portions and split them between us. This worked out perfectly; we each had plenty with still enough left over to take home. The French toast was delectable, the chicken was excellent and the coffee was perfect. We couldn't have been happier! Oh, and at some point during the meal we were offered samples of their mimosas made with Grand Marnier and these were so outstanding that we ordered the full drinks! It's taken me a while to get over to Maison Pickle because I'm such a Jacob's Pickles fanatic, and I have to say I'm glad I finally checked this place out - twice now (once for dinner and another time for happy hour). Their dinner menu has a few items from the Jacob's Pickles menu including their infamous mac and cheese, the patty melt, fried chicken sandwiches (but on toast instead of biscuits), the buttermilk fried chicken salad, and of course the Jacob's Pickles Biscuit Beer. They also have deviled eggs although it's a different style than the classic style at JP - here it's called D'Olived Eggs and includes EVOO, chives, and Maldon salt. I was surprised by the flavor combination of the EVOO on the deviled egg but it went so well together that it's become a must order on each visit. On both visits, we ordered the pull apart garlic and parmesan break bread. It's exactly what you want in a cheesy garlic bread and is so fluffy. They have several other break bread flavors that all sound delicious but I know that I will have a hard time ordering the others knowing how good the garlic and parmesan is, and it pairs so well with other menu items. On my first visit, which was for dinner, I ordered the Jacob's Collins classic cocktail which includes Greenhook Ginsmith gin, Velvet Falernum, lime, and grapefruit soda. I love anything grapefruit so I found it to be a perfectly delicious and refreshing cocktail. Besides the break bread, MP is also known for their French Dip so I had to get one and ended up choosing the Classic which is topped with horseradish aioli and sea salt. I really liked the flavor combination and the overall French Dip experience. Next time I want to try either the Deluxe or Reuben French Dip or even the Steak Frites. And to top of a great dinner, we also had their iconic 24-layer chocolate cake. Let me just tell you this chocolate cake is unlike any that you've ever had before. If you want to impress someone or just love chocolate, you need to order it. And if you're not into chocolate, they have a 24-layer vanilla confetti version which looks equally impressive. Of course, there are other desserts as well too. On my second visit, we were on a Happy Hour mission as we had seen on our first visit receipt that they have a mini martini happy hour which sounded fun to us. Their Happy Hour is Monday-Friday from 4:30pm-6:30pm and is only in the bar area. We had made a reservation not realizing it was in the bar area so I think seats are actually first come first serve. I especially appreciate the 6:30pm end time as it can be hard to get somewhere by 6pm after a workday. I ordered the Mini Martini Flight for $10 which included mini versions of their three Happy Hour Martinis including the Neptini, Hendricks Sphere, and Adorable Gimlet (which ended up being my favorite, and I ordered a full size cocktail of after finishing my flight - it uses the Hendricks Flora Adora gin which has a delightful floral flavor). Instead of ordering entrees, in addition to our break bread (which wasn't on the happy hour menu), we ordered happy hour apps including the D'Olived eggs, shrimp pillow dumplings, and a new to me foil gras and chicken liver mousse (I wasn't sure what to expect with this but I have liked just about everything I've ever had at JP so I knew I'd probably like it, which I did. It had a slightly sweet flavor and was served with toasted bread and a red onion marmalade and pecan gremolata. On both visits, the employees were so nice, including the host on both visits, the waiter on the first visit, and the bartender on the second visit. To say that the food at Maison Pickle is heavenly is an understatement. My friend and I were recommend to try out Maison Pickle by another friend, so we decided to visit it for dinner on a Wednesday night. Between the bread, starters, and different entree options that were offered on the dinner menu, my friend and I were torn between what we should order/try, and we ended up ordering 3 items to share - Pull Apart Garlic and Parmesan, French Onion Soup Au Gratin, and the Deluxe French Dip. Pull Apart Garlic and Parmesan - Heavenly. Absolutely heavenly. Now, I'm usually already a die-hard fan of bread, but the pull apart at Maison is a must-try. The bread is just the perfect balance of crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and is flavored and buttered to perfection. I honestly could just order servings of their pull apart, and I'd be content for dinner. One thing to beware of is that the bread does get cold relatively fast, and it's not as good when it's fast! French Onion Soup - Pretty good for French onion soup. Now, I haven't had much French onion soup in my life, so I'm not exactly sure what to evaluate the dish on, but for me, it was just the perfect amount of cheesiness - not too much, not too little. Since my friend and I had ordered everything to share between the two of us, the waitstaff had offered to split the soup between two cups, which was an added plus. Deluxe French Dip - Now, I didn't really know what to expect for the French Dip, but was tempted to order it because I had only heard raving reviews of the dish prior to our arrival, but it was delicious, and I'm really glad that i was able to try it. The Deluxe French Dip is almost like a sandwich with beef sirloin, fried onions, aioli, and caramelized onions. It was on the heavier and messier end to eat, but each bite was full of texture (thanks to the crispy onions) and flavor. I think that splitting the French Dip between two people was a really good idea, as I think that I would have struggled to finish the entirety of the dish myself. Between the two of us and the three dishes that we had ordered, there were some leftovers, so I would say that it was definitely a good amount of food (if not too much). Service was pretty good, no complaints there, and the ambiance of the restaurant was nice. It was on the dimmer end, which allowed for a more intimate setting, and since we had gone relatively later in the day for dinner, there weren't many other patrons at the restaurant either. Only feedback IMOP is that the food is a little on the pricier end (ex. $14 for bread...), but otherwise, no complaints whatsoever! I saw this place trending and was intrigued by the pull apart bread. This place is about a 10 minute walk from Central Park so I thought it would be a good opportunity to go to both. The place is called Maison Pickle so I had to try the pickles. I tried the dill and hot and sour and both were amazing! The hot and sour wasn't too spicy but if you're sensitive to spice, just get try the dill. The pull apart bread did not disappoint. I was worried it was going to be overly sweet but the waiter assured me that it was hot and he was right. It was so buttery and the honey was actually subtle. I highly recommend getting this one, no matter what you order, try this as well. I was looking around at other people's meals and portions were really good. My friend had ordered the sea food pasta and as I looked around the establish ment all the muscles were decorated on the plate around the rim and when my friend got her plate they just was tossed in the pasta. Let me start off by saying that the service and food were both spectacular! We started with the garlic and butter pull apart bread and everyone was raving. For my main entree I ordered the French Dip Deluxe, which was essentially a sirloin steak sandwich with a cup of soup to dip it into. It was AMAZING! Another person in our group ordered the Hot Honey Chicken 'N Toast. The pictures don't really do justice to how MASSIVE it was. From the outside you would never guess how big and chick the inside is. My friends and I decided to stop by last minute, but we were able to score a table! Our server, Karen, was amazing! Extremely helpful and answered all our questions. We started off with a non alcoholic hot toddy, which was delicious! The shrimp dumplings as our app, they were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. For our main course we stuck with the steak and frites and one friend decided to go with the hot chicken sandwich. Everything was perfectly cooked and the portion sizes were generous! Great brunch spot offering some large tasty portions of classic American, Southern, and French-inspired options. I ordered the Fried Chicken n Toast ($21), which was a huge portion with 3 large slices of French toast topped with a big piece of fried chicken with bacon bits on top and lots of maple syrup. The chicken was juicy, tender, and nicely fried. The bacon bits were a nice addition too. The toast was soft and delicious. These ingredients together created a nice mix of sweet, savory, and salty. This was a pretty good deal considering the portion size. I also tried the Deluxe French Dip ($24), which as delicious too. It had tender beef sirloin, caramelized onions, and melted gruyere cheese. The addition of the dip for the sandwich made this a unique French dish. The only not-so-great part of our experience was that we had to wait an additional 15-20 minutes after our reservation time in order to actually get seated at a table, since apparently they had either booked too many people for the same time or the other customers were just being really slow. But then once we were seated, it was all good. The staff were very friendly throughout and the service speed after we ordered was actually quite fast. The place itself is narrow by the entrance / bar area, but then opens up toward the back to a more open and nicely decorated area with two levels of seating. They have some aesthetic lights hanging from the ceiling and some holiday decor as well. It was very busy on a Sunday afternoon with moderate-to-high noise level at times. Overall, I would give Maison Pickle 4.5 stars if I could for the tasty and large portion sizes and nice, lively dining environment. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a brunch spot in the Upper West Side area. read more

I barely got through half of it. Would be nice if the restaurant gave you the option to order 2 slices instead of 3. I felt bad wasting so much food. The french toast was really good but a little drier than I'm used to. Ordered a side order of eggs but never received it. Our order got messed up a little bit because at one point a random breakfast sandwich appeared on the order. For drinks, we ordered mulled wine and Mexican hot chocolate. My friend enjoyed her mulled wine. The Mexican hot chocolate was not good. All I could taste was the tequila. There was no chocolate taste whatsoever. The booze overtook the whole thing. But beyond that, it felt a bit like a Cheesecake Factory. The flavors on their rolls was good, but the bread itself didn't taste homemade or high quality. It was a step below kings Hawaiian rolls in texture. The steak frites was fine. The fries tasted like McDonald's which I liked, but again nothing too high quality and it had a lot more butter than it needed. Between two people that was plenty of food. Check came out to just under $60 (18% gratuity included, and deserved!). Every time I come by here, it is always bursting of people. I know Jacob's Pickle is nearby so it's funny to also see a "Pickle" place as well so close to here. I had been eating a lot of brunch food lately so I was honestly getting tired of eating all this Shakshuka and poached eggs. I really feel like breakfast foods are not that worth it, so when I had Maison Pickle during brunch, I almost started crying. This is what life is about! - Reuben French Dip - I don't even like French Dip that much but this must be the best french dip I have ever had. The sandwich itself was okay, a very basic reuben but with the french dip soup, it was INSANE. The soup was so rich and full of onions but not overwhelmingly salty. I think every sandwich should be eaten with a soup and this is a great example of that. This was my more favorite item out of the two. - Hot Honey Chicken & Toast - This was served with 2 giant pieces of chicken sitting on 3 deliciously toasted and honeyed french/challah toast. I don't know what could be better. The crust on the chicken was incredible as it was slightly sweet and salty, although I wish the flavors permeated to the chicken itself. The toast was perfectly toasted on the outside and was soaking in all the flavors of the hot honey drizzled all over it. This is 3 meals in itself. Seriously cannot wait to come back again to try more food items including their 24 layered chocolate cake. Sure the food items are kind of expensive but based off their portion sizes (it's like 3 servings in 1) it's very much worth the price. The way they serve their food is so impressive. The back upstairs, with a bird's eye view of below. I fully and highly recommend getting what they're know for...French dips. You won't be disappointed. I tried the branzino and it wasn't bad, at all, but I longingly kept looking at the dips and just wasn't satisfied until I was fed a few bites from my fam.
