Service was fantastic here where they were attentive and friendly. A quick glance at them when you're ready to order and they'll walk over to you if they're not busy serving another table. Had a really great experience at Parm last night while in NYC. We came in for early dinner before heading out for the night. We were super excited about their extended happy hour and ended up getting seated by the nicest host. The restaurant was larger than you would think and very well decorated. Just what your typical Italian restaurant would look like. It smelled delicious, which made me even more excited to try their food. We sat down at our table, and our waitress came over relatively quickly. She informed us that happy hour was not where we were sitting, which is why I docked a star. Had we known, we would have chosen a different table but felt too guilty at that point. We started off with some drinks. Of which I chose a Moscow mule. It didn't come in a copper cup, but it was still good anyway. Good enough for me to order a second one. We started off with a zucchini and mozzarella sticks, which came out pretty quickly. The sauce to the zucchini was almost like a spicy mayo, and it was absolutely delicious. I ordered the chicken francese. Someone else with our party ordered the eggplant Parmesan and my husband ordered the meatball Parmesan. After a little while, the meal came out and it was a ton of food. I first heard about Parm because it's a sister restaurant to the infamous Carbone! They make their pasta fresh in-house (which I think is a must-have for all Italian restaurants) and they use the same sauce as Carbone, without the need to make a reservation weeks in advance. I came on a Saturday night and was able to make a reservation the day of. I ordered the spicy vodka sauce rigatoni and it was great! The spice level is extremely minimal. Noodles had the right amount of chew. My party enjoyed their dishes as well, but the stand-out was the chicken parm plate because it came with so much food. We had a large group for a surprise birthday at the back of the restaurant. Our server, Kelly, was EXCEPTIONAL. Super attentive, always nearby and made our experience even better. The food was seriously amazing. I had the eggplant and subbed the Carbone pasta in (no extra charge!) it was incredibly delicious. As an eggplant parm lover, this one was definitely unique. Getting italian food in NYC was a must-have and I'm so glad I satiated these cravings with Parm. It's a very charming bustling spot and you will want to get a reservation. The staff were all so nice and attentive as well. It's kind of a marvel at how much seating they manage to fit into this packed space but it was very charming and gave an authentic NYC feeling. Love their rigatoni carbone! The pasta texture is perfectly al dente and chewy, the sauce itself is very creamy and lowkey kinda tastes like mac and cheese but with a hint of tomato. Def helps to have like a salad or something to help cut through the richness as it gets pretty heavy. Lunch special is not a bad deal either - $25 for a side dish + main dish + dessert. Got the caesar salad and brownies, which were good but VERY sweet. A friend got the arugula salad which I personally like better with the figs. We went on a busy Saturday night for an early dinner and it was just decent! Very hectic in the restaurant, the servers seemed totally overwhelmed. More casual setup with lots of kids. I absolutely LOVED my meal here! The rigatoni vodka pasta is so delicious, but the bolognese actually took the cake! Such yummy meals! Their espresso martini is perfection. The old fashioned is VERY strong and their dirty martinis are too, so don't order your usual cocktail unless you're really into the base liquor haha. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I ordered garlic bread and it was really not good. Came out quite overcooked and it's COVERED in sesame seeds. Parm was a very solid but not mind blowing Italian restaurant with classic appetizers and mains. The prices were pretty friendly for New York and the portions were overall generous. We ordered all foods family style and some of my favorites were the meatballs and the Caesar salad. Both the rigatoni and the pasta for the chicken parm used the same signature sauce which was good at first but got a bit tedious since there was so much of the pasta. I was able to get a reservation for Valentine's Day. Obviously very busy, my service reflected that, the food was good. I would give the chicken parm a solid 7.5 or 8 out of 10.
