Troy found the HPWH we were looking for in a timely manner and installed it. Unfortunately the manufacturer's representative provided him with incorrect information regarding the ducting requirements for the available closet space. Always install equipment per the manufacturer's written instructions - it will save you $$$ and avoid warranty issues. Listening to the sales representative resulted in a significant additional cost to relocate the WH and a separate cost for an HVAC company to install the ducts. However, it is working well and significantly lower operating cost than a typical electric WH. Even with the very high install cost, the payback compared to an electric WH is about 4 years. I wish they hadn't had to install it twice - then the payback would have been less than 3 years. This would easily have been a 5 star review if we didn't have to do the second install. I think once they get more comfortable with this type of equipment, it will be less costly. read more

This review is about the gatekeeping - never got to the point of booking a visit. We have a new home and a nice Rinnai tankless water heater. I found Maitland Winter Park Plumbing on the Rinnai website, I'm looking to get the temperature increased. After reading some positive reviews & learning somewhere along the line that you should service thee tankless heaters yearly - I called to ask for a quote. Instead of handling the price question in a customer service oriented manner, she cut me off and said "we don't give prices over the phone" and told me they charge 49 to visit. I told her I have not clue if the cleaning is100 or 1000 to clean the unit...and she offered NO alternative solution, only "we don't give prices over the phone". I didn't even bother asking if they could adjust the temp for the 49 visit fee... The sad thing is that if she had just been calm and said something about (now I'm making this up here....) "I completely understand, I myself don't know pricing specifics but if you want to schedule an appointment they can assess the depth of service needed & give specific recommendations and pricing".... or whatever... read more

What a great local business! Maitland Winter Park plumbing came highly recommended from my grandfather, who used their services exclusively for decades. So when it came time for us to replace our toilets, we knew who to call. Maitland Winter Park Plumbing quoted us an extremely competitive price for the latest model Toto toilet on the market and added in our second toilet install (yes, we had 2!) at an even better price. Bonus points: they were able to come out by the end of the week! Our plumbers were extremely kind and answered all my questions right away. After a few hours, I had 2 new toilets! Our house is close to 70 years old and the previous toilets were extremely cantankerous. We had even found leaks around the bases and in the previous toilets themselves. I let the plumbers know ahead of time and they assured me they were up to the challenge...and they were! Navigating older homes can be hard and Maitland Winter Park Plumbing didn't let me down! Called them for an estimate on replacing an old electric water heater with a new instant heat type. They scheduled the tech for the estimate, and we spoke on the phone prior to the tech coming out, but they never once told me they would charge me for an estimate. Their website doesn't say it either. They came out, spent about 5-10 mins looking in my garage, and gave me an estimate along with a bill for $50 for the estimate. When I questioned them about not telling me they would charge me for the estimate, and that their website says nothing about a charge, they had no answer. It is not the fact they charged me, it is the fact they never made it clear to me there would be a charge for an estimate, if they had I would have used someone else. I had expected, at least an apology, from someone at Maitland Winter Park Plumbing, But obviously it must be routine business to ignore their mistakes and leave people stranded. If you see my initial review about how their mistake left my daughter in the shower, and the rest of the family without water, only to drive off and leave us high and dry. We are not planning a lawsuit, but an apology would be appropriate. Of course, you have to be a certain type of person to apologize !!! By the Grace of God we were put back on line a few hours later, through no help from them or their staff. I am amazed at how they can ignore their actions and not feel at least a modicum of guilt after their mistake. It takes a big person to admit they were wrong, I'm sure they never will. read more

I have an older home so I've found myself with quite a few plumbing problems since purchasing my home and every time I've encountered an issue, Maitland Plumbing are the first people I call. I can always depend on their honesty and superior quality of work. Nick has come out to my home for all my calls and he's the best. I'll be doing some renovations in the future and I'll definitely be requesting Nick to come out to do any of the plumbing work. I would rather pull my eyes out with a fork then to deal with this company again. For a small leak from the back of a fitting blown up to the entire plumbing in your hot water system is wrong and it will take lots of work to repair for $500.00 and all I got was a soldered fitting. I could have done that my self. When I asked the owner to explain this charge I was offered $70.00 refund and a B.S. Story. If you don't like getting sold stories and excuses, Run from this company as fast as you can. Find a company that prices the job and not the neighborhood. read more

When they came to fix the shower they used a cold chisel (used for knocking down brick and concrete) to open up a brass insert on the shower. Make sure to get a written contract and itemized before they do any work , because they will show you a different price the tablet at first and then when they come back and do the work, they, try to make you sign on a tablet with a more expensive price read more

Charged me $288 to climb on the roof and say "you have roots in the pipe." Pipe was blocked up again a day later, so they obviously did little to nothing to clear said tree roots. Look, there are tools made to clear tree roots. For that price, they should have done more to clear the roots, or have come back the next day and cleared the roots. Very disappointed, and will not use them again. read more

When we first moved to Orlando Eric and his team helped us with the plumbing for an accessible shower we were adding for our daughter. Since then they have repaired our hot water heater and just recently fixed a leak from a pressure release valve and explained how to use a water softener. They are very knowledgable, the technicians friendly and on time and we felt the prices were more than fair. We have no reason to call anyone else for any plumbing related needs. read more

Had issue with tech not following instructions on having HOA to touch water valves and consequently, the tenant had no water for a day. The shower faucet they worked on broke 3 days later and instead of waiving the additionsl $45 charge for the trouble of having no water for a day, Dave saw fit to charge me, which I declined. beware of this company! They installed a water heater in our home. In a week my family started feeling extremely sick we did not know why until we stepped in to the side of the house where the heater was installed the plumber left the gas valve open! which came in to the ventilation in the house. When called they came and closed the valve and said oh sorry! Well right after AmeriGas came over as a gas leak was called on by our neighbors as the smell was that bad. AmeriGas charges a service fee did a whole check up on the house to find out that yes indeed the leak and the valve was left open by the plumber. the gas tank then had to be filled which was an additional charge, I called the company spoke to an Eric who may I add has NOT apologized once for the incompetence of his plumber. He said he would get the charges reimbursed. After two weeks I get a check, it does not even cover 1/3 of the charges encountered. We are stuck with $800 bill with gas and service issues.... I can NOT believe this company is in business and operates so poorly! read more

I needed a plumber fast to replace a faucet. I called Monday early and spoke to a very kind and helpful person. She scheduled for a morning appt We realized that it might not be easy to replace as my faucet was very old. Sent her pictures which were to to the plumber coming and decided that I should go to Lowe's and pick out replacement with help from employee. Adrian was the plumber who came and he was so knowledgeable and professional. He made sure everything was 100%. He explained some things that I had questions about and was so kind. Very disappointed in the service offered. The communication between the office and the service technician was poor, resulting in us being charged $89 and our plumbing issue not resolved. When I called the office they were not willing it assist, only to share their cost of labor was high and they face high workers comp and employment cost.
