Bento box with chicken teriyaki and pork katsu

Came here on a Sunday for lunch. Was seated right away. Place was half full of patrons enjoying their food. Servers were nice and courteous. Place was clean but bathrooms were outside of the restaurant in the mall. Ramen was served hot and the broth was tasty. Don't recall the names of the ramen bowls that we ordered. Very decent place for lunch. The chicken Kara age was fried to perfection as the chicken was juicy and tender on the inside while it was crunchy on the outside. Volcano roll was served warm, creamy and delicious.

Came here for to go order. Ordered 3 items bento box for lunch. It costs $23.95 price really went up for lunch. Salmon teriyaki was small. Tempura was so so not too crispy also only one shrimp. Pork Katsu was only good. After all portion was big enough for me.

We met a friend for lunch here on Sunday. Tons of choices on their menu: salads, ramen, udon, yakisoba, okonomiyaki, sashimi, bento boxes, curry, some sushi, tempura...etc. Dining area was fairly spacious and brightly lit. It seems they can accommodate large families of 6 without a problem. I ordered the black garlic ramen, BF ordered a bento box with beef teriyaki and 3 pc sashimi and our friend had a bento box with beef teriyaki and mackerel. Black garlic ramen - this was decent but not perfect. The egg was a bit overcooked so no jammy middle. Noodle texture was ok, but I prefer a chewier texture when noodles are blanched. This was slightly overcooked where noodles are soft. They do give a lot of toppings like bamboo shoots, black fungus, a few roasted garlic cloves and 2-3 pieces of pork. Black garlic flavor was good. The pork was pretty good too. If the noodles were chewier and with good texture, I would have rated it higher because the main star of this dish is the ramen. 3.5/5 Bento boxes - beef was more cooked than they would have liked. Sashimi sliced so thin. 3 slices which could have been 1 piece at another restaurant. Mackerel was ok. 3/5 The restaurant was bustling even after 2 pm. I think it's because they have a lot of choices on their menu that it can appease even picky eaters. Though we felt a few things were overcooked or they skimped. Sometimes when restaurants have an extensive menu, they lack focus and they don't perfect each dish. So it ends up there's a variety on the menu but mediocre results. Hopefully they take these reviews to heart to help bring in better ratings for the future.

I came here the other day on my lunch before I did my grocery shopping at Ranch 99. I've always noticed this place when I walked by, but was a bit hesitant because I never see this place packed with patrons. However, I went ahead and gave this place a go because I was craving some tempura and teriyaki beef. I ordered their two item Bento box and it came with a free item and I chose the potato croquette. Two item bento is $18.95 + $2 more for the beef. Upon seating, you are given water or tea and then a small bowl of pickled cabbage and carrots. I really enjoyed the sweetness and the tangy taste of rice vinegar. The croquette was fried to a golden brown, Tempura had a light batter that wasn't too heavy. Beef was tender and not over cooked. The servers were very attentive and topped off my tea often. I would recommend this place if you are ever in the area!

Sure, there are better ramen options, but nothing beats a bowl of black garlic ramen after shopping at the 99 Ranch Supermarket because I'm too tired to cook afterwards! For a strip mall joint, I believe it's decent. The food comes quick and the service is great. My offspring really likes the bento boxes too.

I came here with my mom and we were quickly seated and our orders were taken. Overall, the food was very flavorful and the curry was a bit spicy. The place had a very calm and peaceful setting with not to many people.

First time here since they opened 16 years ago. Their ramen was pretty solid. All the right flavors were there. A little sad to see that we were the only table at 7:30pm on a rainy Sunday. I'd go again.

This Ramen Restaurant is located in the Skyline Shopping Center. They share the parking lot with 99 Ranch Supermaket, Sheng Kee Bakery, East West Bank, Truedan, Doughnut shop, Liquor store, Dim Sum King, Porridge King, and some other businesses. There's plenty of parking on weekdays. However, it's a challenge to find parking on weekends. I called in and ordered three ramen to go. I ordered the chicken, seafood, and black garlic ramen. They were ready in 20 minutes. The chicken ramen was the least favor out of the three ramen that I ordered. The chicken was overcooked. It was rubbery and hard to chew. The broth was kind of salty. The seafood ramen was ok. They gave a good amount of seafood and the broth was bland. The black garlic ramen was the most flavorful ramen. It was very garlicky and can also taste the sasame oil. I definitely had better ramen elsewhere. However, I do appreciate them packing the three ramen carefully. The broth and the ramen with toppings were packed in different containers and they didn't spill.

The quality of bento box was disappointing. The food was barely served warm and lack taste. Won't come back anytime soon.

The lunch-only special is only $23 ($25+ tax), and it comes with 7 pieces of nigiri, 6 pieces of a california roll, a miso soup, and a side salad. I don't know of a better deal anywhere. I've been going for probably close to 2 years and the quality is always great, and I get takeout probably at least 2-3x a month. I am honestly contemplating giving Tom Sam Ramen a glass reusable container since I order so often there but haven't done so yet to reduce waste. I prefer the sushi nigiri special more than the sashimi special because there are more kinds of fish. Sashimi includes very thick pieces of fish, but they were maybe only 4 kinds repeated. Pros: - Great prices, especially for lunch - Omakase sashimi (anytime) is also a great deal at $38 for 9 pieces - Combos are also well priced Cons: - They are now on DoorDash, but none of the lunch specials are on the menu - There are no dinner specials for nigiri (only sashimi) - womp womp for me - Parking can be hard - it's on a strip and parking is often full in front. There is parking behind the strip, otherwise you'll need to park around the neighborhood or in the Home Depot parking lot close by. - Rolls are on the average/higher side like most places

Lovely ambiance with wooden booth seating on the left side and open seating on the right side. This place has a huge variety of sushi rolls with creative names. We tried three different ones. For me, the barometer that I use when I try out sushi spots is ordering the rainbow roll. It's always a variety of fish, no sauces, you can taste the rice and determine the freshness. It was $13 here and featured thick cuts of fish. Daughter ordered the Hawaiian roll. It featured cucumber and spicy tuna. She really liked it! I'm not a fan of spicy tuna, but I had to agree that it was tasty. Finally, we tried the Ichiban roll, it came with variety of fish on the inside topped with spicy scallops. I'd have to say, however, that I really like the rainbow roll with the simplicity of fresh fish. They were all good however. Service was attentive and friendly. My pet peeve, however is when restaurants charge tip on top of the taxed amount. I took a photo of my receipt to show this. I don't feel like I should be paying a tip on top of tax! Maybe I'm alone in thinking this?
