We usually order their Deluxe Dinner-- I love the Teriyaki Salmon, which comes with mixed tempura, gyoza, a California roll, salmon sashimi, miso soup, salad, and rice, all for $22.95. It's a fantastic value and very filling, so we often share it along with an extra sushi roll on the side. When it comes to sushi, I have a few favorites: the Mango Special, Salmon Lover, and the House Roll. Their nigiri is also excellent--the fish portions are generous, always fresh, and reasonably priced. My friends are fans of the Sushi Deluxe and Chirashi Bowl, which are both tasty, well-portioned, and great value for the Bay Area. Mijouri has that warm, mom-and-pop feel. It's usually the same couple preparing sushi, with one (sometimes two on busier nights) servers taking care of the tables. The restaurant is small--just about five tables plus the sushi boat bar--but it's kept clean, and food always arrives hot, fresh, and quick. Greetings to all, todays review is On Sushi: The restaurant itself is moderately lit for its surroundings, and spacious enough to seat a small lunch crowd. The Service was just fine, as l was the only person in the restaurant at the time. I chose 4 selections off the main menu: The California roll - Which was just basic and seamed as if it was premade. Both Spicy tuna rolls were spicy but not big enough. The Spider roll was ok , but a bit too many veggies. Today's visit is just 3 stars with room to get better, Bottom line; l will be back to try other things on the menu for a second chance update. read more

So far i have had a great experience and they are all the time attractive to your needs. Also, i dont have any kind of issues health side. They keeps the table and floor out of any spills and whatever you see in a restaurant. The food is pretty great. I come now and then and i feel so far i dont have any issues. Must try and find out. But they have the best value sushi platters. When I'm lazy at home on a Friday night and I don't want to cook, I order a $99 mix special roll tray with like eight different rolls (lion king, Hawaiian, rainbow, hurricane, shark special, California special unagi, and mijouri roll). It feeds 5 people and makes dinner easy. It's an amazing value. If you need less food the special cold tray or the special hot tray are only $73 and they feed around 4 people. Look it's not like you're going to sushi Sam's or Hakashi, but it's perfect to feed a group of four hungry family members, two of which are a picky tween and teen. Also it's perfect for teen parties. I've brought trays multiple times for my kid's soccer and volleyball events and they're cleaned out in minutes. Good flavor and good value! I come here when I want an inexpensive bento box, a nice variety of dishes, and generous portions! The deluxe bento has chicken teriyaki, gyoza, sashimi, California roll AND tempura. The tea is weak, but the service is friendly and they're not usually too busy. There's also a sushi conveyor belt but I haven't tried that yet. read more

This used to be my go to place for sushi. They had the boats that go around with a variety of different sushi rolls. Now that's only available occasionally. The last few times I went, I was very disappointed in the service. I was told to have a seat and was handed a menu. No one came by to take my order for at least ten minutes, both times. There were different servers each time. I asked for hot tea and it took a long time to arrive. On the day that the boats were running, I wasn't offered wasabi and ginger until I asked. I never was asked if I wanted a refill on my tea. My order for my rolls other than the plates on the boats wasn't taken for a long time. The day that the boats weren't running, I received my tea quickly after ordering it, but I had to wait a long time before my order was taken. I placed my order to eat there, and told the server that I needed a Togo order, also. She told me to wait for the Togo order. I finally got to place the order when I was halfway finished eating my order for there. I had to wait for the check and wait for the Togo order. The food was delicious. I just miss the service that the previous owner provided for so many years. Don't go expecting to be out of here in a hurry. read more

Ordered take out from here and thought it was okay. The raw fish wasn't as fresh as I normally like and the sukiyaki meat and shrimp were definitely overcooked. The flavor of the broth was good and it did come in separate containers but unfortunately was still quite overcooked. The lion king roll was probably my favorite from here! Good flavor and warm. I'm a regular here that if I called to place my order, they automatically know what I want. Service is excellent. Daniel, my go to guy, is very attentive and friendly. Food is always FRESH and delicious. When I do eat in, I love that you feel like you're dining with family and friends and most diners there are regular patrons. They do a large amount of To-Go orders for offices and parties. The sushi boats run on weekends. I live nearby and I either eat in or order To-Go quite often. I even got a few neighbors hooked. We've been coming here for years, even before kids. My husband and I loved the previous owners, they were very friendly and accommodating. The previous owners used to know our orders when they see us at the door and automatically have baby miso ready for our daughter when we sit. We still come here after the change of ownership, because sushi craving is real. We still like their sushi, and we always get our usual. 49er Roll - yummy goodness, shrimp tempura and avocado with crab sticks, baked mozzarella and tobiko on the outside Mijouri Special - salmon, avocado, cream cheese, deep fried with unagi and mayo sauce Philly - we love oldie but goodie cream cheese and salmon all in one Salmon lover - my favorite! As the name implies, it's salmon, avocado on the inside, and salmon and thin slice of lemon on the outside However, we understand it's a small restaurant, but from our last two visits, there has only been one server. So when it gets busy, he gets pretty stressed out. We feel bad for him but we feel like, on busy days, at least two people should juggle all the requests of the customers. They also have a conveyor boat, I don't know if that's what it's called. They stopped it during Covid but I think they just recently started doing it again. Tried this place out after work. I always knew this place was here, but never gave it try until recently. It was good overall. I ate sole from the revolving sushi boats. I liked that there was a plaque listing out the pricing for each plate. The sushi was well prepared and flavorful. By the time I left I was fairly full. Service was attentive. Whenever I had a request or question they would respond as quick as possible, which is always a good thing for a restaurant. Ambiance was quaint and small. It isn't a modern sushi joint, nor does it have to be. A cozy place to eat at the end of the day. One thing I would like to see improved upon it would be the sushi boats themselves. By the time I came it was not busy so I understand why some of the boats were not filled with sushi, but I felt like I was seeing the same dish almost ever go around. I've been here a few times before and after quarantine but this review will be for my recent to-go experience. Our food was ready really fast, we only waited a total of 15-20 minutes. We ordered through yelp and by the time we got there we only waited for 5 minutes. They were really kind to us, I really wished they brought back the sushi boats like before. My order: Lion King Roll - Baked salmon california roll basically, and it was warm and delicious. The salmon was so tender and paired well with the broiled sauce on top. California Special Roll - Bf and I got the same thing except his was raw salmon on top, which was just as good! I ordered the curry chicken Katsu with my curry and salad on the side. As soon as I saw the curry I knew it would be different. Seemed paler than the usual Japanese curry I'm used to. I didn't stick to raw fish this time so I can't say much about that but the options I had were massive and to be honest if I just did one order instead of two- I would've been fine! The last time I reviewed this restaurant was about a year ago. Since then I have kept coming back to try their rolls, and specifically, I always order the 28 pieces of sashimi! For the price in the Bay Area, you really can't beat it. I don't know how many times I've ordered their sashimi but it is always fresh, tasty, and extremely consistent in quality. Keep in mind, this isn't a fancy, expensive Japanese restaurant. But if you're like me and want fresh sashimi for an affordable price, this is my go-to spot! I did notice, the 28 pieces Sashimi XL used to be $40, and more recently it is now $45.95. The restaurant is small and they had one waiter so I was expecting pretty quick service but that was not the case. I think the next time we will sit at the sushi boat section to experience it. Overall, the food was ok. Too much rice came with the nigiri, which is called sushi here. The fish was mediocre, but they had the usual types of commercial fish. Decent for strip mall sushi. I can't say that quality is particularly great, but for the value, you get what you pay for. We came in at an off hour, around 3PM in the afternoon, and the restaurant was pretty empty so we were seated promptly. We ended up ordering two combo meals which included a teriyaki meat dish and either sashimi or tempura. The portions were decent, we ate our fill and still had a few pieces of fish left over that we took home for another meal. If you're expecting authentic Japanese food or high-grade sushi/sashimi, this is not the place for it. The chefs and servers are all Chinese (we overheard them speaking in Hakka Chinese), and the menu is clearly targeted toward the American palate. I would recommend this place if you are in the area running errands and really craving Japanese food. Otherwise, there are plenty of better options in the surrounding neighborhoods. read more

The sushi spot never misses! I came twice in one week! Once was for a monster roll (I replaced the crab stick with jalapeños), a green salad and a miso soup. I love the sweet ginger dressing. The miso soup has great flavor. The second time I went was 2/13/2023. We ordered the Warriors roll, XXX roll, and the Hurricane! All three rolls were definitely made with love and perfectly put together with amazing flavors: I love my rolls spicy. The Super Jalapeño appetizer had an amazing crunch & flavor! It is definitely not fresh. Store bought sashimi is more fresh than this. Very disappointing. I fell in love with this place because they have reasonable prices and the food is good. Normally the service is good but tonight we came around 6:30 PM and there was only one server gal working. There were only a few tables eating in, but there were quite a few people getting delivery and I heard the Takeout orders coming in on the computer. We sat there for over 10 minutes before even getting greeted or offered water. After we ate, I waited 20 more minutes to get my check and I had to flag her down all of the times. I have to say that this place has really gone downhill over the years. I remember coming here a couple years ago and it being 4 stars, crowded, and welcoming. Since that time I rarely see anybody here, the sushi boats aren't even full or 2/3 full during lunch time, the wait staff are busy chatting to each other and not serving people even though there's only three other customers in the restaurant, and their bento box doesn't even taste fresh or cooked to order. The Bento Box had really old tasting salad, hard rice, and dry meat. The California roll also tasted old, and even though it was lunch time 99% of the sushi Boats were empty so I couldn't even snap a picture to show you any sushi on those boats. The food just wasn't up to par and for the price it simply isn't worth it. read more
