I'm not sure how fresh this place is. I come here often and some days it's good but some days it tastes and feels fishy and i can tell it's not fresh which is concerning since it's raw meat. Also the owner has a horrible vibe, she is rude to her employees and only allows small portions and then you end up getting 2 radish sprouts on your bowl cause employees are scared of putting more. Unfortunately this is the only close poke restaurant nearby but if there was another one i would definitely be going there. read more

I was craving poke since it was a nice sunny day. I've seen this poke spot but never came in until today. The portions were so small. Other poke spots usually give double the scoop compared to this place. I probably got 3-4 pieces of salmon and tuna in my bowl. The older lady, I'm assuming is the owner, came out from the back and stared at the worker helping me out. She was making sure that the worker gave not too little and not too much scoops. I am really not happy about putting this up. I've been to this poke joint a couple times but the last time was a while ago. I was at a Dr appointment that happened to be close by, so I decided that I wanted some poke for lunch. Big mistake. I wish I could've picked someplace else. Walking into the space, I did not feel welcome. Inside you'll find it very clean with several tables available for dining in. Two young men, were behind the bar for the poke bowls. One older lady worked the cash register. Honestly don't know why they require three people there as the area behind the food was very small. The food section is the width of a two person sofa/love seat. I always order a large bowl no matter where I go. I do this because I eat half and the remainder on the next day. Their large bowl is the same exact sized bowl as another poke place that I frequent. I started off with my base of brown rice. It was a very thin layer. This is where my jaw drops in disbelief. A large portion has four scoops of protein. That's typical. I watched this gentleman scoop slowly, making sure it was EXACTLY FLAT across as to make sure not a minuscule extra piece was given. Four times. I then asked for toppings of cucumber which was thinly sliced. I got literally six. It's in my picture. Count it. Crab meat was one small scoop and I mean small. Avocado was an extra $1 which I'm used to, however, look at the scoop. It is TINY. I've been to other poke places. They do not give you tiny scoops of crab or avocado like this. Additional toppings were fried onions, seaweed (again a TINY amount), ginger (literally one mouthful). I requested for spicy mayo and ponzu. I also requested for extra sauce on the side since I could see how there was barely any sauce. When I got home, the extra sauce was in small containers not even halfway full. Like...why are you so stingy? I paid $18 something for this with tax and gave a 10% tip for this to-go order. I was really disappointed and irritated that I had to pay so much for such a small portion. They barely have any toppings. No joke. Look at my photos. This is not even half of the toppings available at other poke restaurants. Anyway, I got home and ate my lunch. At first I thought, hmm...not bad. BUT then I started noticing multiple bites that tasted like the smell of dirty aquarium water. I was so grossed out. So, not only were they stingy, now my food tasted like a dirty fish tank. I was so mad. I couldn't eat it. All in all, I am not returning here again. Customer service was lacking, they were stingy, and $18 for dirty tank water tasting food is absolutely not worth my money. I hope I don't get sick from what I actually ate. I really wanted to like this place. Genuinely. I almost forgot...the lady who handled the register I believe is the owner. Not friendly. Scolding a worker and watched them like a hawk. I felt uncomfortable for them. That could be why everything was such tiny portions. She takes the "finished" bowl, packages it and rings you up. As soon as I walked in, the vibe was off. The older lady behind the counter, clearly the owner, needs to learn how to respectfully manage her staff. She was rude to her staff, and it was honestly uncomfortable to watch. The younger employee looked anxious the entire time, and I genuinely felt bad for her. At one point, a small bit of sauce splattered on the counter, and the owner visibly tensed up, took over immediately, and corrected her employee right in front of me. No one should have to work in that kind of environment. It was embarrassing, unnecessary and unprofessional. After I mentioned it to my husband, he said he's been here a few times and she's always like this, and it's always someone new behind the counter. That really says a lot. After reading other reviews, it's clear this behavior isn't new. The food was okay but the atmosphere ruined the experience. I won't be back. read more

Most of the employees are very friendly except for the owner. She is always in a grumpy mood. When I order online and then come in and ask for my order, she acts like I'm trying to steal the food. She needs to see my order on my phone and then when I put my hand out to take the order from her, she always walks right past me and sets the order on a special counter because she doesn't believe in handing the order directly from one person to another. It may be rude in her culture to hand a sealed brown bag directly to the customer, but here in America it's rude to not hand it to somebody when they have their hand out. read more

I want to love this place more. The quality of the fish and toppings is consistently great, but they are SO STINGY with the portions. Agree with other reviewers that the owner/manager lady is always training someone and supervising EVERY BOWL that is being built. Anytime I ask for extra of something (spicy mayo, green onion) I'm told it's an upcharge. Even when I'm getting less than half of the available toppings. The portions are not comparable to the MANY other poke spots around town. Advice - stop being so stingy about portion control and you'll earn many more repeat customers. I know food prices are tough on restaurants these days, but customer experience affects your bottom line just as much. read more

This is the closest poke place to my house and I love poke. However, I don't know that I'd ever come back. I have been here ~5x hoping for a different experience and by the reviews I have read, others have had similar experiences. The owner seems to always be training an employee and typically scolding them in some sort of way. It has been a young teenager every time and I assume there's a high turn over rate because she seems very mean and rude to her employees. I have gone to dozens of poke places and this place gives the smallest portions! The prices are on par with other poke spots, but they are without a doubt the smallest portions and it's not like their food is fresher or better than other places either. As a result, I won't be returning any time soon. I'd rather drive a little further and give my business to owners who deserve my patronage. read more

Not looking to dine in at the restaurant I placed an order for pickup so I could snap a photo of my meal as I enjoy it in the privacy of my tinted vehicle. I customized my poke bowl with the following: white rice, furikake rice seasoning, salmon (x2), spicy tuna, sesame oil, crab meat, cucumber, seaweed salad, edamame, ginger, kizami nori, and last but definitely not least, volcano #2 sauce. How did it taste? - Poke Bowl: I was pleased with my choices. Everything tasted fresh and went well together. I have a good tolerance for spicy food but dang, this volcano #2 sauce had a decent kick. It was a satisfying burn in my throat and my stomach. The bowl was almost $20 but was worth it. It was a decent amount of food, definitely enough to fill you up. Plenty of rice and everything else. Food is average in quality but the portions were very small. Their regular bowl is literally a plate. Normally that wouldn't warrent a one star, but the lady working there (owner I assume) was just laying into the younger worker. That guy is definitely being abused. Based on other reviews, this is a common issue. I was going to dine in but it made it real awkward. If you're reading this, quit your job! However the manager makes me more uncomfortable than anywhere else I frequent, not by the way she treats the customer.. but the tiger mom mentality she takes with the staff. A coworker recommended this place to me, so I was very excited to try it. For starters, the food was nice and decently priced for the portion. It is also very close by, and picking up the food was very quick and convenient. The only issue I had was with who I can only assume was the owner/manager. When I went in to pickup my order, I walked in to see her reprimanding a young boy. I'm not sure what he had done to get yelled at like that, but I'm sure she could have at least waited until the store was empty to start scolding him (as there were other customers in the store eating). It made for a very uncomfortable atmosphere, and I forced myself to grab my food as quickly as I could and left. I later came to find that others had left reviews about their poor experience with the manager or about how they had seen her mistreat her employees. It's such a shame because I did enjoy my bowl. I love knowing where all the good poke places are around town. This is one of them. It seems fairly newer than most of the other ones, but they do make a good poke bowl. Now when you think of a poke, it's just a bunch of stuff thrown in a bowl together, but what makes it good- it's the different sauces, freshness, variety of toppings, and the service. All of these checked out over here, I like anything with spicy tuna, and a good sesame and spicy mayo sauce. I don't shy away from any toppings because I like to have a little bit of everything. They have a variety of seafood for you to pick from and you can combine sauces to give it your own taste. The freshness is evident even though the portion of seafood is slightly smaller than most places. I would still come back here as it's convenient and close to home. read more

What makes a perfect poke bowl? Fresh fish, great sauce, and good ratios. This place hit the mark on 2/3. I ordered a regular (3 protein) + add ons. Overall, the whole bowl was a great size, but the scoops of protein are definitely on the smaller end. The presentation is great and I would come here again, but probably order the bigger bowl to get more meat. As far as cost, the regular is about $14 which seems a little high for the amount of fish you get, but it's still good to satisfy your poke craving. read more

I think their bowls are fairly priced and the toppings and sauce options were more than enough! It's a small store in the plaza with a few seats inside, I saw that there was more takeout orders being placed, and I also ended up taking it home to eat. I'm very happy this place opened up near my house. If you are looking for a good poke bowl place near foothill ranch, look no further! This is your spot. I placed my order on yelp due to the pandemic. It said it would be ready in 40 minutes but I got there in 15 minutes and they just finished getting it assembled. As you can tell by the picture, they give quite a bit! The pieces are nice and big. Not like most places where they give a lot of small little pieces. The fish tasted nice and fresh. I went with a regular bowl with eel and spicy mayo sauce. It was definitely tasty! For under $12, this place gave a generous portion of delicious food. Money well spent! Go and treat yourself to a bowl of poke. But come here to do it. You're welcome! Update: it looks like they recently increased the price. That's unfortunate... it jumped up $2 for both sizes. I get it... Covid is making businesses reassess their pricing. But all this means for me is that it'll be more of an occasional treat for me. Still great quality food though. Thought it was about time that I start eating healthy, so I stopped by this new poke place for lunch in Foothill Ranch. They are located in a fairly large shopping plaza near Ralphs and a bunch of other fast food establishments. Plenty of parking is available. I noticed that they had all 5 star reviews, so I had to check them out. I'll start by saying that I really wanted to love them. Upon arrival, the inside was very clean but what really stood out was their customer service! The lady behind the counter (I assumed she was the owner) was so friendly and kind. This is your typical poke bowl place where you start by selecting your bowl size. They only have 2 sizes - regular for $11 includes 3 proteins, and large for $13 includes 4 proteins. I was bummed that they didn't have a small size, as I always get a small bowl and most poke places offer that. After selecting your bowl size, you go through the normal routine of selecting your base (salad for me), proteins, toppings and sauces. Nothing really stood out to me in terms of their proteins or toppings, meaning that they don't offer anything different than what most poke places offer. One thing that I did notice is that they have a lot of sauces, and it seemed you could have as many as you wanted. All of the proteins and toppings looked very fresh. I was excited to dig into it. I added avocado for $1 extra just to make sure my bowl was extra extra. Unfortunately, the overall taste was not there for me. I don't know if it was my fault for not adding more goodies or sauces, but I did notice that they do not mix your proteins with the sauces before putting it on your base. That may be the difference between tasty and dry. Honestly, my bowl was very dry and I think it's because it wasn't blended together. For $13 (after adding the avocado and tax), it just wasn't worth it to me. I do wish them the best, though. As I mentioned, their customer service is top-notch. I came here awhile back but didn't get a chance to leave a review until now. My base was white rice, and it was light and fluffy. The protein options are decent, but they had everything I usually order from other places. I ordered my bowl of salmon and spicy tuna. Everything tasted fresh. The salmon was cut into a good chunks. The spicy tuna was flavorful, spicy with a little bit of tanginess. I LOVE the variety of toppings, it really makes poke just that much more enjoyable. For the sauce, I ordered house ponzu sauce and spicy mayo. Personally, I think the house ponzu could be richer, but it was still really good though. Everything tasted very good together! The owner was super nice and when I was there, I think there was a girl in training. You're doing good! All in all, I would definitely come back here again. read more
