I'm not sure if my experience with Make It Drain is isolated, but it's very different from all the other positive reviews here. The technicians were not competent at all. They didn't even try in identifying the issues with my water heater and kept pushing me to buy a whole new water heater when my water heater was already new. The part they bought to replace what they thought was a "broken" part was marked up to me by 400% of the retail price, even though we agreed on cost of the part. When the water heater still wasn't working, they came back to evaluate the issue again by "staring" at the water heater. They concluded the entire water heater needed replacement. I immediately called a more reputable plumbing company and they actually brought tools to run tests on the water heater and determined what was wrong and fixed the issue all within an hour, while the process with Make It Drain took weeks. read more

We highly recommend Peter and the Make It Drain crew. We initially found Peter on a neighborhood list when we were seeking a plumber to scope/diagnose our slow draining water and the occasional toilet back-up that was starting to present. At the initial investigation, Peter explained the problems our pipes were having and even showed us on a camera scope exactly what was occurring. Rather than quickly band-aid a problem, he explained thoroughly the various options we had to fix parts or all of the problem now, and the future repercussions if we waited. Although what we thought might be a simple snaking turned into a very large project, Peter was very fair with his estimates and the reasoning and value of parts/labor/time. His friendliness and expertise made the financial pill (expense) much easier to swallow. During the few days of the project and work, Peter's crew was very friendly and very respectful, arrived on time, did their best to avoid any lengthy disruptions to water service, and detailed and showed us their progress along the way. Peter came out within an hour for an emergency toilet overflow today, a Sunday morning. He gave me pricing re a permanent resolution of my toilet issue. (VERY gracious and humorous about his boots getting sewage on them!) His restoration company referral is coming out to vacuum up the overflow and clean the carpet. Thanks Peter for your help I'm really glad you were able to come out and fix the issue under my house. I called this company out after hours they're respond was quick and came out and found my washing machine was not draining due to a bootleg connection under the house, apparently somebody improperly connected my washing machine drain into my shower so when I would run my washing machine it would overflow into my shower. Peter and his crew went under the house disconnected the pipe removed the part and replaced it with the right part they gave me a great price and a great warranty really happy with his work how do you recommend thumbs up guys. Here is experience with this company. Had them come to our rental property in Valencia to clean a clogged sewer line. Technician worked for about 45 minutes with a standard snake usiing a drill to power his unit. Could not clear the line. Tech did not have the correct equipment. He said he could clear the line by Hydro Jetting. He said it was a year guarantee and $850. After my initial shock I said no. I told him my friend who was also a plumber (but no readily available) that his machine would never be able to clear the line. He needed a main line snake. The tech said let your friend clear the line. I agreed to pay the call charge of $75 because the tech worked so hard; however, I would never use this company again. They should have sent someone else or offered to come out the next day with the right equipment which they did not do. And as a final note, the following day we rented a main line snake from Home Deport. My friend the plumber cleared the line within 20 minutes at a cost of $65 for the rental machine for 4 hours. read more

One of life's truly annoying minor catastrophe's is coming home to a small flood in your kitchen. I called Make-It-Drain (from all their good Yelp recommendations actually) and Peter showed up and saved the day. Super calm, professional, and fast, he replaced the old pipe (which was the cause of my mini-disaster) used some pressure thing to unclog the drain underneath, and stopped the flood that was issuing forth like some small biblical plague from kitchen sink. Found this company thru homeadvisor.com. Showed promptly to estimate job to eliminate and replace 30 ft of galvanized water pipe with copper. Daniel suggested capping old line where it was copper inside the house and trenching outside for new copper water line. Job neatly done in one day for a reasonable price. Only criticism is not a thorough broom clean finish and some debris left at job site. read more

I had a flood after water came up through the floors, bath tubs, and showers in all three bathrooms late Thursday before the long New Year's weekend. Another company came out late Thursday with a hefty price and tried to lock me in, also charging an exhorbitant fee just for the diagnosis and leaving me with no toilets or ability to shower. At 6 am Friday, I contacted Peter at Make It Drain, and he was here by 8 am with a lower price and ready to work. He provided an estimate for what the job appeared to be (stoppage due to tree roots plugging and having broken a major pipe under the front lawn leading to the sewer line), but after he dug down and cleared the first tree root, he scoped with a camera and found 27 feet further under the street another major blockage and cracked pipe, increasing the job. He agreed to do the job without breaking through the sidewalk, more work for him but a lower price for me. Peter and his crew worked morning to night Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday that New Year's weekend - several days in the rain. They took only New Year's day off. By Friday afternoon, they had cleared the blockage enough that I at least could use the toilet and shower again. They showed up on time, did everything they said they would, kept to the prices they quoted, cleaned up the job site, restored the front lawn (which was a mud hole for days) almost to the same condition as when they arrived short of some grass that will have to grow back, and stayed patient, polite, and responsive throughout. Called Peter on a Saturday for a sewer line inspection. Another plumber already charged me $475 but was unable to complete the inspection because of extensive root growth in the line. He wanted an additional $850 to come back with a hyrdrojet to clear the line so he could see it with a camera. That's when I decided to give Peter a try. Peter arrived with a Hydrojet and an assistant 90 minutes after I called. He successfully cleared a very difficult root clogged line and diagnosed my problem. The cost for the hydrojet and camera inspection was $500. He also checked out the entire house at no additional charge A few hours later I received a written estimate for the repairs. Last Saturday we had a backup and needed a plumber. In the past we used those guys who advertise on the radio and use a voice actor as the owner. (Ask anyone who works for them why the owner doesnt do his own radio spots, its an interesting story) Anyway, my wife looked on yelp and Make it Drain came up. She called and spoke with Peter, he said he would be out between 12:30-1:30pm, sure enough, 12:35pm he rolls up. He assesses the situation and tries to snake the line, then uses the camera. After trying to unstop the blockage to no avail, he laid out our options. We opted for them to install a main line clean out and take care of the blockage from there. He told me his guys would be back between 8-8:30am, sure enough, 8:10am Armando and Eric show up. Armando kept me informed as they went along. After a few hours the clean out was installed and the blockage gone. Peter came back the next day to run the camera in both directions and finish the job.
