I'm a big fan of the original Makenna Koffee in Simi, so I was so happy to see that another location opened up closer to work! The inside is big and spacious with plenty of places to sit. I also appreciate how easy it is to park in this complex. The drinks are unsurprisingly good. Love the variety. They have a plethora of options to choose from for every mood. The wait time can be a bit long, and we've hit a few snags with one of our coffee orders going to the wrong person. But overall, it's a solid coffee shop and I'm happy to see them expand. read more

I was in the area and, of course, always on the hunt for a good coffee shop. Makenna Koffee popped up, and since I was only about six minutes away, I decided to check it out. I ordered the Aloha Latte with a free extra shot. At first, I thought it was on the sweeter side, but the coffee flavor definitely kicked in after a few sips, which I really enjoyed. I needed a midday pick me up and found myself at the newer MaKenna Koffee Company location in Newbury Park/Thousand Oaks. First things first this location is absolutely gorgeous! They did such a great job with the interior. It's bright, spacious, and full of fun touches, from the neon signs to all the cozy little nooks where you can sit back and enjoy your drink. The staff was just as impressive. Everyone who helped me was friendly, bubbly, and had my drinks ready in no time. Honestly, that's been my experience at every MaKenna location I've visited is consistently A+ customer service. I ordered my go to drink, the Surfer Girl, and it never disappoints. It's creamy, fruity, and honestly reminds me of an upgraded version of the Pink Drink from the bigger chains. If you're not in the mood for coffee but still want something refreshing and delicious, this is the one to order. I also had to try one of their Dirty Sodas and went with the Butter Beer. Think root beer with butterscotch goodness sweet and addictive. If the sugar rush doesn't wake you up, I don't know what will. Lol. Makenna Koffee has such a cute Hawaiian surf vibe inside. The menu has a lot of drinks to choose from. They are known for their Maui milk, which they add to a lot of their drinks. It makes the coffee drinks sweet. I like getting their coffees when I am in the mood for a sweeter coffee. The Kona cloud comes in some drinks which is like a vanilla sweet cream foam and it's really good. I recently tried the iced horchata latte and iced churro latte. I enjoyed them both! They both were sweet and had a strong cinnamon flavor. I will be back to try other menu items! read more

Excited to visit Makenna's latest location in Newbury Park. It was consistently busy without being overly crazy which told me a lot of people still don't know they're open just yet. The reason for today's visit was Makenna advertising a free drink all week on social media depending on your occupation. I came in on a Monday morning and excited to see the unique cozy nook and shiny surfboard. Everyone was friendly and welcoming and helping customers get their drinks quickly. So happy I was finally able to try this place now that it's open and close to me. I've tried a few of the dirty sodas and they are so incredibly delicious and refreshing. The girls working always have super happy vibes and are very sharp with greeting their customers. Wow. This is a beautiful place. With a great setup. I came today with my Bluey Shirt. It was very busy but they were all super friendly. Very nice ambience. It seems their focus is a little more on drinks than espresso but that's ok. I ordered two espressos. They took a while but that was completely ok because they were so busy. When I picked them up they were so nice and apologized for the wait. Their beans are a little darker than I would recommend that is my only criticism. Still it tasted very solid and I will be back for sure. read more

We absolutely love Makenna Coffee! We first fell in love with their Simi Valley location, so we were excited to visit their Thousand Oaks/ Newbury Park. This new shop is beautiful. The space is clean, modern, and has such a welcoming atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, the staff made a great impression. Everyone greeted us with genuine warmth and friendliness, which really elevated the experience. The overall vibe is just right. It was Relaxed, inviting, and the kind of place you actually want to spend time in. You can tell they put thought into both the customer experience and the environment. Makenna continues to impress.
