Love that there's a Philz coffee in TO! Located in the same plaza as container store, men's warehouse, Jamba, and Citibank. Plenty of parking in the plaza. Staff are always super friendly and answer all my questions about certain drinks or coffees and they give their recs. I do enjoy their iced mint mojito - has been a crowd favorite amongst my friends for years. I recently have been favoring the philtered soul / sweet and creamy. The hazelnut flavor is right up my alley. This is now my go-to drink! It's fairly modern looking inside and people are usually on their laptops or sitting and chatting. Whenever I order from this location, my drink comes out exquisite! Sometimes I'll dabble with the seasonal drinks, but I tend to stick to my tried and true -- philtered soul cold brew with light oat milk, light honey, and topped with cocoa powder. I know they made the honey haze that's exactly like this, but I have my order customization saved already so I just order it the same each time. And I melt for the jalapeño cheese bagel. It's so savory and has a nice kick to it. That's a perfect morning in my eyes. I've been trying to get my hands on the red velvet seasonal loaf, but I can't find it anywhere. It's always unavailable. Sure, Starbucks used to be here but this is a better, more bright, and airy spot that is welcomed and appreciated. I popped in here recently and absolutely loved the mushroom focaccia pastry. For just $5, I was pleasantly impressed and fed for lunch. So, give it a try the next time you're in the area. It seems like a great place to catch up with friends but not filled with lice who work there all day and bring their own food. (I see you Starbucks' loser patrons, across from Cam High.) Philz has many locations throughout Cali but this is the first one in Thousand Oaks. And this is my first time at this location tucked away in a small shopping center off of Moorpark Road. This location use to be Starbucks! There is a small parking lot directly in front of the location. At approximately 7am, the shop was actually pretty quiet. I know their other locations can be very busy- with long lines, so perhaps this was unusual. When busy, its best to plan ahead and order on their app. This is my go-to place for chai. Unlike Starbucks, they use real tea rather than chai out of a box. Also, you can modify the tea by adding milk and sweetness preference. I prefer my chai to have cream and a bit of honey. The coffees at Philz is good too-real strong coffee. The location is brightly decorated but has limited light as it's a long space. If you seek some light, grab a seat outside or by the window up front. The seating did not look particularly comfortable so perhaps a place where you grab and go rather than hunker down for some work. See you next time! read more

Nice staff, I ordered the biggest size paid $6+ and 20% tip. They tried to make mix of non fat and cream, but it kept curdling finally it was handed very mediocre drink, in a medium or small cup. I should've just asked for a refund. The whole event was a big waste of time. I've had better coffee out of a vending machine. 1st and last visit. One of my friends had been recommending that I try Philz Coffee so this spot had been on my mind for awhile. This coffee shop is just a tad hidden from the main drag but upon putting it in my GPS it was pretty easy to find. This coffee shop does get busy. I came around 1:30pm and there was still a good line so just be patient with the crew as it seems to be a popular spot. The inside was welcoming and it was easy to follow the signage to get into a line. The seating inside is semi limited but it was cozy. They had plenty of outdoor tables which was nice. A lot of people were inside on their laptops getting to work, had that quintessential coffee shop atmosphere. The menu here is fun because their iced drinks are just truly unique. I feel like the coffee combinations and pictures really seal the deal in making me want to purchase their stuff because it was really hard to narrow down my coffee order. Normally I'd be inclined to order their mint mojito drinks but I came on a cloudy cold day so went with a hot latte, I ordered the Philtered Soul which was a hot hazelnut latte with extra cream and sugar added to make it "the house way". This had to be one of the best lattes I've ever had. The drinks here are A+ in originality, taste, and presentation. I really like their coffee cups as the lids are almost transparent. For food I was skeptical but went with their sausage breakfast burrito. I will have to say for a fast coffee shop burrito it was totally tasty and filling. I was impressed as it definitely exceeded my expectations. I'd recommend their breakfast here over the big competitors burritos any day. It had good flavor and was a decent size. If you're in a pinch and need something to eat the burritos here will do you just fine. Lastly I want to give 5 stars to the staff and service. The people that work here are extremely nice and professional. I liked that even when they were busy they still made eye contact with every customer to acknowledge them and to tell them that they would be with them in a minute. Even when you'd get up to the register they'd acknowledge you between making drinks. Like I mentioned before the day I came was pretty busy, they did a good job communicating with the customers, they gave a heads up that they were backed up on drinks and if everyone was okay with waiting it could take up to ten minutes for your order to come out. Everyone in line stayed, so I think that's a testament that good communication can go a long way and that the drinks are worth waiting for. I was still pretty impressed with how quick they were with getting out orders despite being busy. I really only waited about five minutes from the time I paid for my order and grabbed a spot to sit down. The staff here rock and they deserve your business (and a nice little tip). I can tell I'm going to be a big Philz fan if their drinks and service are going to be this consistent. Definitely give this spot a try, a great coffee shop addition to the 805. read more

We had our first time at Philz a couple days ago and are quickly becoming regulars. Bree and Emma were knowledgeable and very kind. They were patient while we downloaded the app to capture our points and make adjustments to our orders. I had the Cashew Cocoa Cold Brew and the Bacon & Egg Burrito. They were delicous, a great value and I was impressed by the quality. If you're on the fence between cold brew and hot coffee - we prefered the cold brew. The ambiance is bright and upbeat but not overbearing or too loud. We were able to work well and there were plenty of plugs for us to charge our laptops. We will definitely be back. I am quite familiar with Philz from my time in the Bay Area and didn't realize one was close to me. It was not busy when I went. I did go mid week during the day. They have indoor seating and there is open outside seating for the area which was nice. I prefer coffee over espresso which is why I like Philz. I love how you can choose the coffee beans you want depending on the type of notes you want to taste. Since it was mid afternoon, I ended up getting a chai latte which was really good. My only feedback I have is there was a worker who they seemed nice but assumed it was my first time there. Maybe having the employees ask "Is this your first time?" would help. Overall, I will be back to be able to get some coffee. read more

Came here on Sunday afternoon to get a cappuccino and was surprised they didn't make that. They didn't have espresso machines. That to me is the basics of any coffee shop. I still decided to go ahead and try the Philtered Soul with Oat milk with no sugar. The coffee tasted ok, I got more of the oat milk than anything else. This is a place for non-coffee drinkers who can have a variety of choices of different drinks to try, but not for people who genuinely love their espresso. Oh my goodness! Philz is so good! So, when you walk in, there is rock music playing in the background. Not my ideal music for studying haha but I'm sure it's someone else's cup of tea *wink wink.* Service was quick, our server was very sweet in explaining all the unique menu items. If you're looking for normal boring coffee do not go to Philz. They also have teas but not a specialized or a big variety for tea lovers. I love how they have unique flavors that not only sound delicious but ARE delicious. I got the seasonal Iced Vanilla Date Delight. HIGHLY recommend it was delicious! It will only be around for 2 more weeks as of today, I believe. My drink did not come out quickly, it was a 10 minute wait, but it was worth it!! I would love to come again soon, and would recommend. Absolutely obsessed with Philz!!! I tell everyone about it! I bounce back and forth between the Thousand Oaks location and the Calabasas location & I've always had a good experience! The staff is always so friendly, accommodating and super cool to talk to. These employees actually look like they like their jobs! I also love that unlike majority of chain companies, they insist you try new things & say if you don't like it they will happily remake it or make you something else!!! Starbucks would NEVER! And their coffee even if you get it sweet, doesn't taste like straight up sugar. So many unique options but my latest obsession has to be the tiramisu!! Finally we got a Philz Coffee nearby! We have been enjoying Philz coffee for awhile now, but their locations have been a bit far from us. We headed straight here for the next 3-days to get our coffee on. My go to drink is the Tesora Mocha with oatmilk and medium sugar, extra hot. If you want a tasty drink and love chocolate, this is for you. If you want something different, try their Iced Mint Mojito. It's a refreshing iced coffee with a hint of mint. Place is clean, service is pretty fast, and staff always friendly and helpful. When picking up your drink, you get to have a taste before leaving, so if there is something not right about your drink, they will make it right. You can also order ahead for pick up as well.
