I did a trial and Ngan worked with me to ensure I was comfortable with the final look, and it turned out exactly how I wanted--like my normal face, but prettier! My mom was originally planning on doing her own hair and makeup for the wedding, but after seeing how awesome my trial turned out, she decided she wanted to work with Ngan, too. And she's particular, so that says a lot! Ngan was so patient and caring with her, and very communicative and organized in the months leading up to the wedding. I think Ngan may have been a little flustered the morning of the wedding (there were 9 of us getting hair and makeup done and she had to manage 2 assistants and keep everything on track), but she hardly showed it and kept my nerves calm. She did forget one piece of my hairstyle that we'd discussed during my trial, and I didn't realize it until it was too late, but my hair still turned out beautiful and no one noticed any difference. Overall, I'm very happy with how all of our looks turned out for the wedding, and I wouldn't hesitate to work with Ngan again or recommend her to others.

She was a nightmare to work with during this process, resulting us firing her two weeks before the wedding. Every time we needed to change the date due to the pandemic, she would be rude in her emails and increase her pricing. I understand your pricing increases every year and that's fine, but there is no need to be rude. She is not very flexible in any means. We had to add two more services and I got push back for that too. I'm giving your more business and you're upset? My wedding planner said in her 15+years in her role she's one of the worse lady to work with. Originally, I thought maybe my requests was too much but I realized that my requests were reasonable and she was being unprofessional. It was unnecessary stress. Beware of pricing changes with her and also random fees that she makes up on the fly - that is not listed in the contract. I do not recommend working with her at all.

Indian weddings can be over the top with makeup/jewelry/glam and I wanted to look like an elevated version of myself but remain recognizable. When I initially spoke with Shweta, I expressed my concerns and she immediately made me feel comfortable and understood what I was going for. Shweta was lovely to be around during my wedding weekend in October 2025. She helped me keep calm, and we chatted through the early morning and the many hours in the makeup chair. Even when there were issues with weather impacting our ceremony, she helped me keep positive and her presence was extremely calming and reassuring! Shweta made me look and feel so beautiful-I cannot even describe how amazing the looks were. She really nailed every single one and I was so glad I worked with her because I still felt like myself. She was able to come up with distinct looks for each of the 3 events and all of them were perfect. I was less than two months away from my wedding and had not yet booked a makeup artist. The one I…read morehad initially found through Wedding Wire was making me feel uneasy and worried as to whether or not she'd show up on my wedding day (she did not email me contract information for a week past when she told me she would because she'd thrown her back out...how was I supposed to feel confident that she'd be healthy on my big day if she couldn't even send an email??) I was stressing out big time that I hadn't found someone, so I contacted my fabulous wedding coordinator (see my review for Eventful Days - Jill Guiomar), and she recommended Lucy-Zayne. I feel so incredibly grateful to the makeup artist who made me feel uneasy, because if all of that hadn't happened, I never would have found Lucy!! Lucy was quick to respond to my voicemail inquiry, and we set up a makeup trial shortly after the call. The trial went wonderfully, and Lucy was so easy to talk to. She'd asked me for photos before the trial of my dress, my earrings, how I was planning to do my hair, and also examples of makeup styles I was going for. She executed the look I wanted perfectly during the trial, and I had the utmost confidence in her on my wedding day! Her prices were extremely reasonable as well (especially for the Bay Area which can be outrageous). Communication with Lucy was fantastic throughout the weeks leading up to my wedding. She even emailed me to let me know she was going to be out of town for a wedding a little before my wedding, so she might be hard to get a hold of on her travel days. Anyone who has gotten married knows there is nothing like great communication and setting expectations when it comes to wedding vendors! Lucy was one of the best communicators I had among all my vendors. Lucy showed up to the hotel right on time the morning of my wedding. She got two and 1/2 of my bridesmaids (one just got lashes and a little unexpected, but appreciated overall makeup touch up), my mom, our two flower girls and me done with time to spare! Everyone looked beautiful!!! My mom and bridesmaids really enjoyed talking with Lucy while they were in her chair, and they were all really happy with their makeup. Lucy gave everyone touch up makeup kits to take with us so we could keep our makeup looking fabulous throughout the day and night. I can't tell you how many compliments I received throughout my wedding about my makeup, and they keep coming in from people who weren't at the wedding but have seen pictures. No one can tell that I only had around 3 hours of sleep the night before because of Lucy's magic! My mother was super high maintenance, she showed up late the assistant stayed despite the fact that they had another wedding to start working on. All of my bridesmaids are the type that wear next to no make up, yet they were thrilled about the way they looked one of them even said "maybe I should wear make up more often." She even worked with my special request of needing rainbow eyeliner, that is not her normal she likes to make people look very very natural. They showed up on time, ready to go, and worked very fluidly with our hairstylist who was from a different salon. Will definitely use her again the next time I have an event I need make up for!

Communication - I don't live in the Bay Area so I reached out to Anamika a couple months before the wedding to plan a trip around the time she would be free for a trial. She didn't respond for two weeks, and only finally responded when our wedding planner stepped in. I had booked with her 10 months before the wedding at which time the communication was fine - after giving the deposit (50% of service so 1000$) she was unresponsive. 2. I have very curly hair that takes quite some time to straiten and usually is frizzy when straitened. I explained this to Anamika when booking and she said it was fine as long as I tried my best and it was clear that I had gone through all of my hair with a strait iron before she arrived. At the trial she looked at my hair and asked me if I had read the contract, that she required very straight hair. I explained that this is the best that I could do. I would be fine to just go for a natural style or something else that would take less time if this didn't work for her. I showed her my hair in natural curls and said that we could just arrange the hair without heat styling - whatever is easiest. In the end I felt shamed for my natural hair and she put such little effort into it during the trial. At one point, I even asked her if - given that she was uncomfortable with my hair, we could cancel the contract, but she refused. I actually got 2 Brazillian blowouts before the wedding to make my hair fair enough and purchased an additional set of extensions at another length to be easier to blend. 3. On the wedding morning Anamika was about 20 minutes late to start with hair and makeup. We actually ran behind schedule for my sari draping, and the sari draper had to make other accommodations as she would be late for her next appointment if she waited for me. For the reception look, I had e-mailed her saying I wanted to do crimped hair and she replied that as long as my hair was strait it would be fine. My hair was strait (helped along by the two chemical Brazilian treatments) but she simply said she didn't bring her crimping tools and proceeded to do a typical blowout look with extensions.

I wouldn't book with her if you want someone who can communicate with you and not feel like you're a burden. Now I'm struggling to find someone else to do my wedding makeup that's in 3.5 months. It honestly sucks because I thought she was a sweet girl with good intentions but she's the opposite of what she portrays on social media. I was super hesitant on even posting this because I'm not the type to be so confrontational but I needed to warn anyone who wants to book with her, to not do it. Find someone else she says social media is her job which I get but not responding for over a week? Sorry but my sister who has a small business herself said she'd never make a client feel this type of way and she and a few others are super upset at how this situation was handled. You would think her clients would be a somewhat priority since her fan base is what got her to where she is now but she does not care. I was a fan of hers but not anymore after this situation.
