Circled areas where skin left on, shrimp was undercooked and mushy
    Emma O.

Visiting Bend and had a sushi craving and this place had the best reviews. The salmon nigiri still had some of the skin left on in places and the shrimp tempura was not cooked all the way through. For the price this is a pass for me.

    So good I ate everything

BEST SUSHI!!! So good. Very fresh and good quality. Less rice and a very good amount of fish- how it should be. Will be coming back!! So good I'll be dreamin about it. Very sweet workers. Cute spot.

Maki Maki - crab Rangoon & nigiri

We stopped by for some dinner this weekend. Maki is in a cute little truck court in a good location with a decent amount of street parking. Business was steady but not slammed, and our food was ready pretty fast. We each ordered a roll (Hawaiian, sweet potato, avocado) and some crab Rangoon. The rolls were small, but what they lacked in size they made up for in taste...very yummy. The Rangoon were cooked perfectly with a nice amount of stuffing...again, very yummy. Sure, I would've liked to see larger pieces, but I wouldn't hesitate to return anytime I'm in town...highly recommend.

Typical outdoor food cart seating. First come first serve. Not a huge seating area. The beer offered was craft and locally sourced (if you know Bend, you know that is a good thing). I got the Hazy and it was delicious, as always. I had been craving sushi, and when we knew we were coming to Summit High for a football camp, I knew right where I was going. This place was amazing. Food was quick and delicious. Spicy tuna roll was perfectly balanced, and not too spicy. You could tell it was fresh also. Hawaii roll was new to me. It was also delicious, a little sweet, a little salty. I loved it. 9.6/10 would definitely try again.

I'll admit to some hesitation concerning raw fish from a food cart but that's probably not based on any real issues. With the positive reviews for Maki Maki and that The Lot is one of my go-to beer drinking spots, I overcame my hesitation and got me some dang food truck sushi. Very glad I did. Yellowtail and salmon nigiri - excellent Spicy tuna roll - very good, could be spicier Prices are maybe a bit high but in these uncertain economic times, not out of line. Speaking of spicy, the little wasabi condiment packets available on the side of the truck are killer. Wasabi is something I use fairly often at home and almost always with sushi. But wow, that stuff packs a wallop. Excellent.

Great sushi cart with a few other carts in the area. Sat outside on some picnic tables. Sushi was fresh and awesome. One order of Edamame fed the two of us easily. Happy place.

The best crab Rangoon on the planet.

Most amazing sushi! Get over yourself. Food carts here are better than brick and mortar places. Amazing. Amazing amazing.

Unagi Don. Not a huge portion but very tasty.

Went to the LOT for dinner. I love these food truck/food courts cause everyone get just what THEY want with no 'arguing' Maki Maki Sushi qas delightful. The unagi don was really tasty. Wish i was hungrier so i could have gotten more.

Food Cart Pods are not a thing where I'm from, so whenever I see one, it's pretty exciting. First of all, do all Cart Pods have names? I love this one; "The Podski", HA! Ok but beyond that, this place had so many delicious and unique options. We had Italian arancinis twice, a sampler of Pierogis, delicious oyster shooters and shrimp tacos. One thing we didn't get but looked awesome: I don't know if we missed out on some gem, but so many people were getting the burgers/fries from one truck. Also, so many other people were getting stuff from the Thai truck. And to top it off... the beer/cider station had an awesome deal. For about the same price you'd pay for a typical pint, they pour about 20 ounces of happy beverage into a taller than I expected glass. The picnic tables are colorful, there's a covered tent if you're feeling cold, people are friendly... it's just overall a great place to chill, drink, & eat.

But this place in Bend... this is serious burger territory. First thing you notice: they're not messing around with the menu. Just burgers that understand what a burger is supposed to be. Like a pickup truck that starts every time. My buddy got The Popper which is basically what happens when a jalapeño popper and a burger start collaborating. Bacon, jalapeño cream cheese, ranch. It looked like something a scientist made to test the limits of happiness. Fries were solid. Soda cold. No weird nonsense. Just burgers doing burger things. Only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is because if I lived closer I would probably eat here too often and that feels medically irresponsible. I'd give it 6 stars if Yelp understood burgers better.

The owners closed up shop downtown and created this new place on 2nd Street in Bend's Central District. It's now called Dogwood at the Pine Shed. Why Yelp won't create a new, distinct page for the Pine Shed is beyond me. That said, the Pine Shed is a fine place for drinks and food truck fare. The open, spacious 'shed' has plenty of varied seating surrounding a nice bar with quite a few tables outside on the patio. Mobility-challenged folks have choices too. For those worried about 2nd Street's reputation for sketchiness, don't be. Revitalization efforts by the city have transformed the area. At times of good weather, with the big doors open, the Pine Shed is quite a nice spot to relax. Cocktails were the raison d'etre for the former incarnation of Dogwood and that emphasis transfers here to the Pine Shed. I particularly like their versions of a margarita but the other cocktails are uniformly good too. The beer tap offerings are not so spectacular, however, with only four (and a cider). On one visit shortly after they opened for business, two beer taps were tapped out, which can be chalked up to growing pains. In any case, the Pine Shed can't be seriously regarded as a tap house in the style of the many others in Bend (On Tap, River's Place, Crosscut, The Lot, The Podski, Midtown Yacht Club, etc.). Come for the cocktails. They do offer low ABV and zero ABV drinks. At present, the food truck choices are abundant and pretty decent. Being trucks/carts, and thus mobile and prone to relocating themselves, I'll not list them here. Best to check the Pine Shed's webpage for current offerings and then go to the relevant Yelp page for reviews. Parking is street only, no parking lot. The city has completed construction on 2nd Street so there are more spots available than before.

To order, you pick your protein (chicken, steak, or tofu) and pick your boat (rice, noodles, baguette, or salad). Current prices are $14 for chicken or tofu and $16 for steak. I tried the chicken baguette option (a self described banh mi) which came with cucumbers, pickled carrots and daikon, and garlic aioli sauce. In my experience, a banh mi is commonly made with pork and pate. Obviously, Da Nang can serve whatever food they want; I'm not making a claim about authenticity. But, I think their sandwich would have been better with these ingredients. The sandwich was good but not great. The baguette was very good -- crusty on the outside but soft on the inside. The flavors were good, but relied heavily on the garlic aioli to pull it together. The chicken was a little dry without the aioli. When I got all the ingredients together in one bite, it was pretty good, but the sandwich size/shape made this difficult. IMO It tasted more like a "chicken and pickled vegetables" sandwich than a banh mi. Service was friendly. It took about 10 minutes to get the sandwich and they gave me a buzzer to tell me when it was ready.
