This amazing dessert shop is coming to DTLA. Love the yumminess! I had: 1. Makkee deluxe 2. Tapioca deluxe 3. Oriental jasmine milk tea

I think I've officially tried the entire (maybe except two) menu and here is what I think. The mango served at this location is sweet and fresh but I would probably skip the mango pamelo sago dessert since you can probably get it elsewhere. The mango ice is good, but it seems like the portion is smaller when you get it to go. I would probably skip the taro milk and taro sago as well unless you can a big taro fan. There's no uniqueness to the desert except it's less sweet compare to the typical dessert Now, items that I would order again..I would probably get the watermelon dessert for summer time since it's nice and refreshing. The tapioca dessert is good if you're looking for something chewy. The mango ice with the purple rice is good too but it's probably to have it dine in since the ice cream melts and the grass jelly with taro balls. Those are just my preferences. The good thing is there's not too many people but there's a wait after you place an order. Also, the parking lot is valet $3 for lunch $5 for dinner so you're better off finding street parking. They happen to have a buy one, 2nd one 50% off so it's a good deal this week.

    Coming soon to Koreatown!

"Now open in the heart of LA's Koreatown!" If you have a sweet tooth, you NEED to check out MAKKEE Dessert, now open in k town! I stopped by for their soft opening, and everything was seriously worth trying! I got the Tapioca Deluxe, Makkee Deluxe, Mango Snow Black Sticky Rice--so refreshing for summer with that snowy layer at the bottom--and their seasonal Tapioca Pearls in Coconut Milk. And here's the sweet deal: Fantuan Presale gets you 2 desserts + exclusive merch for just $12.99! Soft opening is August 21. Grand opening is August 31, with 50% off the second dessert Aug. 31-Sep 3r. Basically... my sweet tooth is very happy.

    Taro mochi black rice

The desserts here are incredible. Never too sweet and the fruits are always fresh. This location has a loud ringing sound played every time an order is placed and it hurt my head so I'd recommend taking your order to-go.

taro coconut sago (warm) and taro black sticky rice mochi (cold)

I love that it doesn't taste overly sweet and that we were able to pour how much condensed milk we wanted to throw ontop. It made each bite even more creamier, which was so awesome. We sat down in one of the group tables and hung around for about 30 minutes. There was alot of people coming in and out, which was nice. They have some self service stands to order which I always enjoy so I can scroll through photos of the options. We decided to get the single servings of Injeolmi, mango melon, and strawberry. Our group of six was split evenly when picking our favorites! Injeolmi: has a milk shaved ice base topped with mochi and topped w roasted soybean powder. This one's really good with a nice nutty flavor without it being overpowering like a classic peanut butter Strawberry: straightforward strawberry base topped w strawberries. The base is creamy and the tartness from the strawberries rounds it all out. Mango melon: mango shaved ice base with melon balls. Lowkey the melons were a little hard to eat for their size and also they were superrr cold so it made it hard to chew but loved the flavor combo All of them come with condensed milk for you to drizzle over and it's nice that it comes separately so you can adjust your sweetness level

Parking is pretty difficult, and valet is $5. I can easily see the parking lot getting gridlocked on a busy day. I sampled a few of their gelato flavors, including the jasmine lychee and soy sauce. Both were okay, but I just wasn't in the mood for either of them today. I ended up getting the Pandan Toast to try. The pandan flavor was really good--not too grassy and didn't taste too artificial. The ice cream also had a buttery taste to it. It might have been from the toast, but I'm not too sure. The bread itself wasn't oily, which was nice, but it was kind of dry. The pandan sauce definitely helped make it easier to eat. I probably wouldn't eat the bread by itself though because it was super hard and didn't really have much flavor. I wasn't sure what to expect from the toast, but it wasn't quite what I expected. I originally wanted to try the mango sticky rice flavored shaved ice because it looked really good in the photos, but unfortunately they didn't have it today. I'd come back to try their shaved ice when mango is in season again!

And I had an EXCELLENT chicken Chipotle wrap at lunch that was recommended to me by the gentleman working at memory look. I'm not certain where these wraps are made. Another gentleman would bring them from the building in the same complex. I LOVED my wrap. They have a ton of seating outside too but there aren't any outlets out there so it's harder to WFH out there unless you're fully charged. But was great for separate meetings we all had to attend. The photobooth was fun but we were so thrown off by it taking 8 photos, we had no idea how many poses we would have to come up with hahaha. I would definitely come back here anytime!

The drink itself was good, although I found the prices a little higher compared to other matcha spots I've tried. Service was on the slower side, and it took a while for the drinks to come out. The staff were okay, but not particularly friendly. It's not my favorite bakery in Little Tokyo and I'd rather get Yamazaki's nikuman and as Cafe Dulce's name implies, they have a wider range and are more known for their sweet pastries (not saying that they don't have non-sweet things). They're almost always a part of the huge collaborations that Little Tokyo has, think the Hoyo slop stuff or the crazy Silent Hill one. Lots of art on their windows and they usually have a collab drink or something. Just know that depending on how popular the collab is, and even if it isn't, this place has lines out the door and is quite fisted. Tables in front are always full of people. Drinks are hit and miss. Every latte I've gotten, even with mixing is grainy sweet coffee slop and the matcha isn't too great either (way better options in the area), but if you have a sweet tooth for pastries it's not too bad. Decadent cream donuts, mochi donuts, savory sausage donuts, and creme brulee ones too. Shareable, but something I'd need to down with milk or some water.

After having a family dinner at Gabin Korean BBQ in this shopping center, we decided to stop by Anko for dessert. The owner recognized us right away and warmly greeted My Mom, saying how nice it was to see us again after such a long time. We used to be regulars here, so it was really nice to see her again. I think their taiyaki is the best in LA! They sell them in sets of 4 for $12. My Mom and my 2 brothers got the red bean-filled taiyaki and I got the Nutella and banana one, and it was absolutely delicious. The freshly baked taiyaki was so warm, and the melted chocolate Nutella inside was incredibly sweet and delicious. It was seriously so good! Every time I come here, the staff is always so friendly, and the taiyaki is always amazing. It's definitely one of my favorite dessert spots. This place used to be so popular that there would be a long line just to get taiyaki and bingsoo. There were still quite a lot of people here today, but we were able to order pretty quickly, and our taiyaki came out really fast too, which made me very happy. Back in the day, we would place our order and have to wait quite a while for the taiyaki to be ready. Today was definitely a much better experience!

There's a bingsoo place we LOVED in Dallas called "Wicked Snow" and this is the closest we've had to Wicked Snow. I enjoyed the texture of Anko's bingsoo more than other places I've tried. We got 3 flavors: strawberry mascarpone, mango & hojicha. I usually love anything mango flavored but surprisingly I enjoyed the strawberry one the most! - it tasted very natural/not artificial. I could have eaten the whole thing myself. I still enjoyed the mango as well but this one actually tasted a big more artificial, but the fresh mango was perfectly ripe & added a good amount of sweetness. Hojicha was good too but definitely more "nutty" - still great if you don't want anything fruity! Staff were nice and even tho there was a bit of a wait for the desserts, it didn't take too long for them to come out. We surprisingly got lucky with street parking but they also have valet parking available. Will 100% be back and trying the taiyaki next time!
