I have never written a review for a business before, but I had to share how happy I am with Andre's work. I just moved to the city and had a referral for a tile contractor from my realtor. I took a day off work to meet the guy as he never showed and never returned my messages. I ended up just calling Andre from a google search and he was able to come out immediately since he had returned from vacation and had no work planned. After reading the positive reviews that Mako has received, I decided to ask for a quote on a small project. Andre was professional from the start and even though my project was very small in scope (installation of a commercial mailbox), he quoted me an attractive rate. I wanted to get the project done and he was able to meet me after another project that he was completing that very same morning and by 2:30pm we were done. He was accurate, thorough, and provided the clean-up after the job was done. I really don't like cleaning up after a project, so this was a major plus. I recently had Andrey redo our bathroom floor and shower stall, and install new faucet fixtures. Initially, we had a different contractor that our realtor recommended who did the work. But that contractor was terrible and a complete amateur; he cut corners everywhere and ruined our cement floor tiles by staining them. At first we had Andrey come in just to redo the cement floor tiles, but he gave his honest opinion on the initial work, pointing out what had been done wrong and would cause problems for us in the future. So we had him redo everything to have it done right. Andrey and his workers were friendly and professional. And the bathroom renovation turned out great. Only hick up was a scheduling issue where we thought his worker would come in. Other than that, should be five stars. read more

I was referred to the Tile Doctor through a friend. Andrzej responding quickly to my calls/text and was very accommodating in working around my busy schedule. My dog even liked him and she's as skittish as it gets. Andrzej's work on the backsplash was magnificent and he kept true to the initial quote even as the workload and complexity increased as the job was underway. His attitude was great and his professionalism was top notch. He even left my condo cleaner than it was when he arrived. We hired Andre and his team to do a full gut of our master bathroom and second (kids) bathroom. It took a few rounds of discussion to get to an agreeable price, but once we did we found them to be very professional and great at their trade. They were on time every day, worked late when they needed to, and left everything clean and tidy at the end of each day. We very much appreciated their focus on quality even when the schedule was running a bit longer than expected, and they never asked for any extras. Andre is a very straight and honest guy. He doesn't just make the sale and hand it off to someone else to execute, he was present and helpful throughout the project and contributed greatly to problem solving and improving the quality of the outcome. I hired Andre to update areas within my condo. He and crew re tiled and painted my powder room, installed kitchen backsplash plus retiled floor and shower in my second bathroom. He also installed faucet and shower kit. Andre puts the customer first in everything he does. He was very accommodating to fix areas immediately that I was initially unhappy with. I hired Mako Renovation to build a wall in our basement to create a walk in closet. Andre reached out to me in a matter of hours and came to do an estimate that night. It wasn't a giant project so a lot of other contractors had blown me off or tried to schedule my project months out. Andre gave me a very fair quote and told me he could have the closet finished by the end of the week. I could tell right away he knew what he was doing and he did not disappoint! He and his guys were here two days later, and after working on my project for three days straight (including Saturday, which I did not expect), the project was complete and looks amazing! He and his workers even installed a new light switch so the closet has two dedicated lights, something other contractors tried to avoid doing because of the extra work. Andrey just finished redoing the bathrooms in our newly purchased condo in west loop. He was extremely professional and easy to work with from start to finish. We got multiple estimates all around the same price but we decided to go with Andrey because he seemed the most trustworthy and estimated he can do the work in 4 days, which I honestly thought was impossible as others had told us the project would take 10-12 days. Sure enough he finished the project as promised in 4 days! He and his team Demoed 1.5 bathrooms in 1 day and replaced the tile, vanity, and toilet in both bathrooms in 3 working days. He finished the project in 4 working days as promised and both bathrooms look great. He definitely knows what he's doing when it comes to bathrooms!
