Cute, cute, cute . . . Refurbished bungalows. All that's missing is the Magic Fingers . . . LOL
I've always wanted to stay in one since moving to Victoria over 30 years ago. I always look towards them when driving by. I think it's because they remind me of fun travelling with my parents who would usually choose cabins, cottages, bungalows or motels like this on road trips.
The bungalows closest to the highway are historical gems from the 1920s. The ones up on the rise, where we stayed, are straight out of the 1975 era. The new owners are doing good work renovating all units. Our studio (#17) is half of a bungalow, with one room plus bathroom. Classic 1970s panelling; new half carpeted, half lino. There is a bar fridge, coffee maker and hair dryer. Cable TV. Very clean throughout. New mattress, nice firm support, sort of a pillow top. New mirror and tiling in the bathroom, classic avocado coloured toilet and tub. Small patio, nice grounds for walking. Family owned, nice folks.
The price is right ($72/night - offseason) and it's worth a stop as long as you are okay with retro, yet clean bungalows. Wifi works well and steady . . . read more
