It was still outstanding, but I did notice the beef patty seemed about a third to nearly half thinner than I remembered. At around $20, that's noticeable. I'm hoping it was just an off day because this place has earned enough goodwill for me to give it another shot. Don't overlook the butcher shop itself. The meat quality is miles beyond what you'll find in a grocery store. I bought their ground beef for a ragù alla Bolognese, and it was so spectacular that I went back specifically to buy more for homemade burgers. Bottom line: this is one of the hidden gems of the island. We decided to try two different items on their small menu; a pastrami and hamburger. Both were so fresh you could actually taste the difference. Nothing like fresh meat! Both were well-seasoned and TENDER, the bun on the burger was a brioche which was very moist. We also got their version of Mac salad which was quite good The laulau sausage was very good, just never had laulau in a sausage before. GPS gave us the incorrect directions, but we found it. It's across the Ace Hardware store. Open parking.

Tell me if I am wrong to be mad... Went into malama, as I have done so for the last 2-3 days with my food card number written on my case paperwork because my card hasn't come in the mail yet. The cashiers have let me do it before and my wife. They put up the enter your card screen for us then as I entered my number they canceled it and whispered to their other cashier and said that NOW I can't type it in... I have a pregnant mama at home and a baby with literally no money available at the moment. after 20 minutes of waiting in the middle of the aisle speaking to the manager who thinks its against company policy, slipping up and saying that they do it for people whose food cards don't scan any more. 20 minutes... with like 6 employees surrounding me refusing me to use my 1800.00 in their store after they let me do it before AND my wife. I got angry and swore. They kicked me out of the store for arguing. Where is the justice? Am I wrong? Do something about your immoral insensitive staff who surrounded and harrassed me for needing to feed my 9 + months pregnant family. 0 stars. Figure it out Malama. read more

Such a bummer that living in one of the most fertile places on the island that you go to the local grocery store to find old mainland produce that didn't sell in waimea foodland .. and a bunch of snacks and junk food , the hot items are gross usually with dried out or mushy rice .. if I had to use one word to describe the place I'd say "SLOPPY" most the staff is nice except elder caucasian gentleman who seems to be a manager of some sort ?? Terrible tourist trap with shady customer services and inaccurate charges .They do not follow any form of properly identifying or protecting customers information. The workers are under paid and prices are ridiculously marked up its robbery with minimal or barely even good customer service .
