I believe I was given too much anesthesia. I also believe I received very poor follow-up care from the practice. When the procedure was done, the practice called my partner, Donna, to come pick me up. Over the phone, the nurse told her that a polyp had been removed and cauterized. The nurse said I could resume all my usual medications that night. A little surprised, Donna asked if that included my blood thinner, Eliquis. The nurse hesitated but eventually said yes. When Donna arrived at the clinic, she called to let them know she was there. She waited in the parking lot for a little while and eventually a nurse brought me out in a wheelchair and said they couldn't get me to wake up. She also said they had revised instructions about my meds and I should hold the Eliquis until 11/1/23. They got me into the car and Donna brought me home. I don't remember any of this. Donna got me home and in bed around 4:30 PM. I finally woke up around 7:30 PM and asked what time it. I had no idea if it was that evening or the following morning until she clarified it for me. I got up, sat in our living room, had a glass of water, and promptly vomited all over myself. She got me cleaned up and back to bed. I was out for the night. The next morning, I got up at around my usual 7 AM. I went into the bathroom and almost immediately threw up again. I felt a lot of nausea and a headache. We waited for the practice to open and called in. Dr Chase called back and told me to go to my primary care physician. He wouldn't see me. This surprised me but I did it. Irongate Family Practice saw me that day and prescribed an anti-nausea medication. I did stop vomiting but the headache and nausea continued. On Sat. AM, 10/21, I called Dr Chase's office. He was the physician on call that day. He did call back but once again refused to see me and told me to go to my primary care. We went back and forth about this for a while. Irongate was also involved in the discussion. Dr Chase eventually said I should go to the ER; he wouldn't see me. I clearly wasn't going to get any help from him. Donna brought me to Glens Falls Hospital ER. The hospital treated my with IV fluids and some medication. They did full examinations to make sure there were no injuries in my abdomen. After about 4 hours, the nausea and headache ended and they released me with a prescription for anti-nausea meds. My stomach continued to be sensitive for a little while. I had diarrhea for a few days, then one day of extreme constipation which passed by late Wednesday, 10/25/23. No matter what my symptoms, I will NEVER have another procedure done at Gastroenterology Associates. I will NEVER recommend them to friends or family or strangers.

Plus internet in what I should expect. Please look at the reviews before going to this practice, even watched the receptionist argue with a gentleman, his wife and him were so upset when they left and walking by the man said What a Bitch, no compassion at all. I even talked to a manager of Saratoga hospital, the woman is still there. He was also going to turn her in. I just started seeing a new gastrologist, so far very happy, he listens while looking at you not off in to space, took about a 1/2 hour in his office the first time to ask questions. the receptionist, purse and dr. Were very nice and seem compassionate. they put me on a med that is working and helping me to feel better after dealing with this pain and suffering for 2 years. The doctor said that I would not believe the new patients that come to him with similar complaints ands. my reply was (OH YES I DO). Save yourself from all this aggravation and start out with reading ratings and complaints. Albany gastroenterology consultants, is where i go now.

The dr then suggested an endoscopy and some other testing to be done. Supposedly everything came back normal and the doctor literally told him "well, i have no clue why ur dry heaving every morning and feeling sick to your stomach all the time. Only thing i can suggest is that since you have been living with it this long, i guess you can continue to just live with it". WHAT!!!? what kind of doctor says shit like that? Fast Forward to December 2017. Fiance went to primary physician with severe stomach pain. Primary suggested he go to Upstate Gastroenterology office. I explained the problem we had with that place 2 years ago. He then told us that Dr Sklaw no longer works at that location, and to see Dr Pronold. So primary doctors office made an appointment at gastro dr for the next day. Around 4pm (same day) we realized that his ultrasound results and blood work would not be back in time, so i called gastro office to cancel and reschedule for next week...well, when i called, all i got was a voice mail. ok, fine, so i left a detailed voicemail asking to cancel and reschedule the appointment and for someone to call me back. Well, i didnt hear anything from then, so at 9am (normal business hours) i called their office. It went to there answering service. I continued to call the office until they FINALY switched the phones from answering service to their stupid ass voicemail. Are you serious?! So, yet again, i left a msg asking for someone to call me back. 4pm The office FINALLY calls me back to say that "someone" cancelled hi appointment and rescheduled it for Dec 19. Umm, im the ONLY one who makes his appointments, so who exactly rescheduled? The nurse was like "idk, but it was rescheduled for him to see the nurse practitioner". I said "no, he needs to see the doctor, not the nurse practitioner". she then told me " the nurse practitioner can take down his information and then she can then talk with the doctor to see if any testing needs to be done" why not just cut out the middle man and let him see the friggin doctor? UGH. this place is so unprofessional, its not even funny. What a joke. Im just going to find a diff gastro dr for him to see, and this place can go to hell for al i care. idiots!

My experience with Dr. Yogesh Gupta was not a good one. I came into Advanced Gastroenterology…read morebecause I had been having gastrointestinal pain and I wasn't sure what was going on. This man has NO bedside manner and doesn't seem to care about his patients much at all. I walked into the office as a twenty-something and immediately upon hearing I was having pain he said he would schedule me for a colonoscopy. I hadn't been in his office for 2 minutes and he was kicking me out and sending me for expensive test number one (one which I thought I wouldn't be getting until I was 40+). I got to the hospital for the colonoscopy and it turns out he also had me scheduled for an endoscopy, which he didn't tell me about, which just shows the lack of communication he has with his patients. I got copies of my charts because I like to have records of all that and he had my medication history incorrect, which could really affect his treatment plan. Eventually after close to half a dozen expensive and invasive tests I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. Upon diagnosing me he didn't take the time to explain anything to me or discuss how having this chronic illness would affect the rest of my life, but just kind of sent me on my way. He prescribed me the mildest medication he could, because he said he didn't like side effects of medications, which is valid, however I was having severe symptoms and needed stronger medication that would address them. This medication was very expensive and did little to nothing for me and I had to take it three times a day. Eventually I switched gastro providers and my new provider immediately put me on a steroid which made my symptoms go away and was much cheaper. The new guy told me he wasn't sure why I had been on the medication I was on as it hasn't been proven very effective and is supposed to work on Crohn's disease located in the colon and mine is located in the small intestine. Overall, Dr. Gupta doesn't give enough time to his patients and doesn't seem to care about the quality of care he provides. He seems much more interested in overscheduling his office and passing you off for as many expensive tests as he can.

I was scheduled to have upper and lower endoscopies done. It took me over six months to get an appointment. When procedure day arrived, I was wheeled into the operating room only to see an unfamiliar face. I had never met this doctor before, and didn't even know her name. She insulted me as I was being put under. I woke in recovery and told I'd have an appointment to go over the results in three months. That was the soonest they could get me in. I arrive to my confirmed appointment 15 minutes early as instructed. After 30 minutes of waiting a nurse informed me that Dr C was out ill and no one would see me. I later spoke with doctor only to find she called in at 0600 and informed staff she wouldn't be in for the day. No one told me nor did they give me an alternative appointment. I asked to have the doctor call me and was simply told "she'll call you tomorrow." No time was given. At 15:00 the following day I called and was told I had a phone appointment for 16:00. It would have been helpful to know that but I wasn't ever notified. At 17:30, an hour and a half after my appointment Dr C finally called only to say she'll see me in three months. Dr Cesar also said she called in at 06:00. When I spoke to Amanda Shamrock from Baystate Gastro, she threw Dr Cesar under the bus saying "She didn't call in until 09:15 and she was lying about calling in at 06:00 because no one got a message." Amanda then proceeded to blame the call center saying they were at fault. She did everything except apologize for their poor treatment. I then informed her I would be sending her a bill for the no call no show appointment I went to. That's when Amanda lost it and screamed that she was hanging up if I was going to threaten her. The staff is disrespectful of your time, including Dr Cesar, lie about each other, refuse to take any responsibility, and as I saw with Amanda, as she is completely unhinged. It's scary knowing a practice would allow someone who's that unprofessional to continue to work there. I would encourage everyone to find another gastroenterologist since this office is nuts! ***I've never even heard of this in my life but...I'm now getting crank calls from Baystate Gastro. I can only assume they're from Amanda. She's calling and hanging up when I answer. ***
