Simply the best Arabic/Mediterranean food anywhere nearby. While regularly busy, you'll rarely wait to sit down, and we always have good wait staff service. The decor & cleanliness of the dining room is nice. The restroom's less-than-stellar in its appearance & cleanliness, but above average. The bread & garlic are plentiful, salads a generous portion, and entrees well-cooked in a timely manner. Having had a variety of menu items, everything I've had has been good. Whatever your preferred entree, I'm confident that you'll enjoy it. My favorite is the deboned chicken & fatoosh salad. The rice side is always well-cooked, which a generous portion of pine nuts. Their hummus is excellent here. Lunchtime is particularly fast & efficient for me, which is good. read more

In you want Middle Eastern on the downriver area, this is one of the better places in my opinion. If your looking FOR AUTHENTIC food. Its not like Bucharest Grill. so thats what your looking for- keep going. If your looking for some good Mujadara, some kibbeh, Shawarmas made of lamb, Delicious crushed lentil soup, Lamb Chops, Fattoush, and some of the best grilled vegetables.... Go Here. They are clean, the environment, atmosphere and decor are great and welcoming, the menus are big, easy to read, and have a good variety. The fresh bread they brought to the table, was amazing an warm- tahts because of the brick oven they have that you can see from the lobby. The service was quick, efficient, and the prices were ok. Was in the Detroit area and found Malek Al Kabob on Yelp. It did not disappoint, I don't normally have access to Mediterranean food and was excited when I saw this restaurant with the high rating. I got take out the Malek's Kafta warm appetizer was excellent and couldn't stop eating the Shawarma Plate. I would definitely try Malek's again when in town and save the fifth star for constancy for when I visit next time. read more

This place easily grabs a 5-star. It's Yemen owned but the food is Lebanese style cuisine. I started off with their lamb shawarma and fries. The meat was tender and had lots of flavor form the garlic. The shawarma was tightly packed and nothing fell out which is a plus. I ordered a house salad on the side which was super fresh; the cucumbers and citrus dressing on top was lovely. It wasn't too sour of a dressing; it was just right. My favorite was their creamy garlic sauce that comes with the pita bread!! I'm telling you, this is crack. It's creamy and something I've never had before. I was even dipping my fries into it! I also recommend ordering their lemonade slushy which takes some time cause they're using real lemons and actually making the slush. My whole meal was dedicated to my lovely friend, Cynatt. This place is one of her faves so she suggested it to me. I don't regret a thing. This place is well deserving and a great place to throw a party! It's huge and they all sing to you if you celebrate! I really wish we had these restaurants back in California. It sucks I have to travel for shawarma like this. I highly recommend this place! read more

This establishment has gone from a small little joint in a strip mall to a huge staple in Taylor's community. My wife and I love it here a definitely miss it being so close to us once we moved, make no mistake about it we make the 30 minute drive once a week or so just to get our fill of chicken fattoush and veggie grape leaves. It may not sound like a big deal but these grape leaves are BY FAR the best ones around here flavorful and delicious, the salads are big and chicken is grilled to perfection every time, also I get the spicy garlic paste (red one) and the pita hot out of the oven. I am a fan!! I really enjoy Mediterranean food and this is a great place to experience that. I generally get the lamb kabobs with rice and salad. It all works so well together, especially with the garlic sauce and bread. I have had lots of the food from here and it never disappointed me. We went here because it had the highest ratings of any middle eastern/Mediterranean restaurant in the area. We learned, it is for good reason! I loved the table service and the complimentary fresh warm pita and garlic sauce. It was so good!!! The hummus was brilliant, as was the baba ghanous (sp?). The boneless chicken entree where you pay extra to marinate in lemon and add mushrooms?? Out of this world!!! I ordered the chicken tawook,, with fattouch, chicken wings and extra garlic with bread. First came the garlic.. I'm a little embarrassed to say i ate it all on it's own with the bread.. it was heavenly! But it was only just beginning.. the rest of the food came out and I don't know which dish was better.. I love this place!!! I'm always greeted upon arrival and I really haven't had to wait long. I was recently waiting for some friends and they made sure I was comfortable while waiting without pressure. I had the Tabouli and added Salmon and as usual, it was on point!! They give you a generous amount of food as well!!! But they started me off with the bread and garlic OMG is all I can say!!! It's wonderful! They even serve healthy drinks that are delicious and fresh. I'd be there daily if I could!! The deboned chicken is out of this world. I'll be back for that soon. The Malek sauce (extra $2.50) is like nothing I've ever tasted before. You'll want to drink it. I came here on a strong recommendation from a friend and this place definitely lived up to the hype! Being that it is only 15-20 minutes from the airport I decided to make this my last stop before leaving the Detroit area. We arrived around 7pm on a Wednesday and the restaurant was packed! That being said, surprisingly as a party of two we were able to be seated right away. Our server Michelle was awesome! She greeted us right away and was friendly and thorough throughout our entire visit despite how busy she was. We decided to try the Mediterranean wings as a starter and they came out looking exactly like the picture from the menu! I was impressed by that-How often does that truly happen ya know. They had a flavor unlike any wings I've ever had and they were packed with juiciness. As an entree my boyfriend and I split the whole deboned chicken and opted to add the lemon and oregano sauce on top for a small up-charge. Now that I'm writing this I realize we probably should've tried something other than chicken, but I have NO REGRETS about my choices! The deboned chicken was perfectly seasoned and had an authentic smoky flavor. The portion served was huge and there was enough for us each to have a meal for later. Peeps just trust me when I tell you this is a meal you won't mind eating twice! Also- if you happen to come here for your birthday, this restaurant makes quite a big deal to celebrate with you. Besides your typical birthday song from the servers they also play Happy Birthday in both English and Arabic over the loud speaker and the whole restaurant seemed to automatically join in on the clapping. I came here today for the first time, for a quick lunch. Shortly after we sat down, fresh (and hot) bread and garlic paste were brought to us (yum! So good) and then we ordered sandwiches. I had the chicken kabob sandwich and my boyfriend had the chicken shwarma sandwich, both were $4.99 I believe. Total bill for a Coke and two sandwiches, before tip, was only like $12 ... pretty good deal. The sandwiches were tasty as well, the pickles were some sort of sweet and spicy kind. One of the best places to get Mediterranean in downriver. We always comes here because you can never go wrong with the place. We have tried varies things and never went wrong. For lunch today my husband ordered the Kibbee Nayee and I did a lamb shawarma. Both filled us up and even had some to take home. They always give you a basket of their bread which they refill when empty so eat as much as you want. They make them fresh and are delicious even with just the garlic. They even give you unlimited garlic paste and it is soooooo good. The restaurant is located on the corner and at a strip mall. Parking maybe a bit crazy at times and you may have to walk a ways but it is definitely worth it. The service is always amazing and they are not cheap on sending you home with more bread if you ask. I recommend this place and always will. It is a great alternative to driving to Dearborn when you want something now. read more
