I'm shocked this place doesn't have a higher rating, my boyfriend and I had a great time here. We split the fish tacos which were some of the best I've had, and the rice that they came with was delicious. We also got ceviche, chips and salsa and a prickly pear margarita. The restaurant itself was super cute and the staff were awesome. Everything was 10/10 and we'll definitely be back, this is for sure one of our new fav spots in Malibu.

I know people have mixed feeling but I think you just have to order the right things The fish tacos are great, the salmon burger is fire, the salmon was good. We made a reservation for 16 people one day before pre-grad night for a late dinner and they were able to accommodate us, great for large parties!

Excellent location, wonderful Malibu restaurant. Enjoyed my drink tremendously, the Manager even went to get the bottle for me from the back, and the food was on point. Great for locals and tourists alike. It's so moody here at night, really love it!

Stopped by to check out this cuban hideaway by the beach. Service was decent and food was good. They've got a great covered outdoor patio where we enjoyed our dinner and the drinks were delicious. Definitely not a bad spot to stop by if you're in the area, though better cuban food can definitely be had elsewhere. Solid 4 out of 5 stars!

The food was amazing in the place. I really liked the chicken tinga tacos. Only thing is that the corn tortillas fall apart which is expected. The service was great the waiter was very attentive. Sat outside in patio. The ambiance was great, I liked the wall painting and fresh plants bordering the patio.

Ice water: go inside and help yourself. Mandatory pre-selected tip: 25%. Service attitude: meh. Then, as you opted for the convenient method above, they charge you 99 cent extra. For every order. OK, if you care to hear more: I was born and raised in Germany. In Germany, staff gets paid by the hour, so it's typical to "round up": on a €44 check you would possibly give €47-48, €50 would be considered generous. STILL, when I get asked what would be the first you would import from the US, I suggested "the way you tip service". For decades, 15-18, max 20% was the rule, and you got excellent service for this. I preferred excellent service over saving money in a restaurant. Now, they led us to believe that service does not get paid and their tip is what they take home. Also, they want is to believe that 15% tip is almost an offense as everything got more expensive. A server at Zinqué Malibu earns a legally mandated minimum of $17.91 per hour before tips. Zinqué does not publicly disclose its exact hourly rate; its job postings describe compensation as "hourly + tips," based on experience. True: everything gets more expensive. Every year. So if prices adjust for a sandwich, so does the tip, it's whatever percent on top. So "everything is more expensive" is covered by the higher tip. Zinque offers substandard service, suggests an extra 25% as default for it, and then makes me pay extra for them reducing the service. I still believe that great service deserves recognition. Sadly, I also believe that whoever is behind this, has lost his mind. As much as I love the ambiance of this place, I will not go again. Possibly they would not even want me to come again. Fair enough. During my visit, max 20% of the tables were taken, rather less. Maybe there are more people like me. Again, to make sure we do not misunderstand each other: I have no objections to have an online menu. I prefer a "real" one, but then, digitalization will take over. Fine. I dot not support that I have to tip before I have even seen service, though. Tip must be earned. By service. The more you love the service, the more you should tip.

The dinner we had was nice but it was outside and it was freezing. So we were all shivering and by the time our food came out everything was pretty cold. The entire hotel was not busy there wasn't that many people there. Kind of a shame since you think it would be since it is beautiful there. The rooms were interesting and across from each other, however I loved the little fire pit they had in the middle of the outside area going back and forth to the rooms. The kids had a blast though they had fun running back and forth and they do leave a lot of yummy snacks around which was really nice. The customer service was not bad not the best but not bad! Everyone was nice but things took extra long when it shouldn't when no one was really there. I hope next time we visit this hotel it will be busier. The location and ambience were wonderful. There's plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, whether you're dining as a couple or coming with a larger group. They take reservations in advance, but also accommodate walk-ins. I personally love outdoor seating, and their outdoor space was so peaceful and relaxing. We truly enjoyed how calm and zen the whole experience felt. Service was wonderful as well. Everyone was so kind and attentive, and our server gave us some really great recommendations. Now for the food, we genuinely loved everything we ordered. We started with the Crudo, which was so yummy, and the Beef Tartare, which was easily one of the best beef tartares I've ever had. Definitely in my top five! I'm also completely obsessed with their French fries. The tartare comes with a very generous portion, and those fries are SO addicting. I genuinely could not stop eating them. They are literally the perfect French fries to me, and I can't think of anywhere else that tops them right now. For our mains, we had the Grilled Octopus and Seared New England Scallops. The octopus and all of its accompaniments were absolutely astounding. We've never had anything quite like it, and the sauce was exceptional. My only note is that it was a little on the spicy side for me. Totally fine, I just don't have a very high spice tolerance, so I had to eat it a little more moderately, but the flavor was incredible. The Seared Scallops were cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. I love that you can choose the sauce to accompany them. Our server recommended her favorite, the red chimichurri, and I'm SO glad she did. I probably wouldn't have thought to order it myself, but it was the perfect complement to the scallops. We also got the affogato to finish off our lunch, which was great. And personally, I really enjoyed the biscotti cookies that came with it. I love that so many of the dishes are easily shareable, which makes it really fun to try a variety of things with the table. We can't wait to come back, bring others with us, and try even more of the menu. Such a fun experience and definitely a new favorite!

One thing to know: they have separate morning and dinner menus, and if you show up in between like we did, you'll be ordering from a more limited menu. Thankfully, "limited" here still gave us plenty to work with. We started with the clam chowder, which tasted incredibly fresh, creamy without being too heavy, and was a great start. Then came the burger and lobster roll, and both absolutely hit the spot. The lobster roll was loaded with big pieces of lobster, while the burger was simple, juicy, and paired perfectly with those thin crispy fries. Service deserves its own mention. Everything came out quickly, and what stood out most was how everyone seemed willing to help everyone. It didn't matter whose table it was--if a customer needed something, whoever was nearby stepped in. That kind of teamwork makes a restaurant feel very well run. Great food, beautiful Malibu atmosphere, fast service, and a team that actually pays attention. Definitely coming back, except next time I'm checking the clock first so I can properly attack the full menu.

We completely understand that the weather was beyond the restaurant's control. What was within their control was how they managed seating. Unfortunately, despite having a reservation, we were overlooked and left waiting due to poor organization. When we asked to speak with the manager, PABLO was dismissive, repeatedly interrupted us, ignored the fact that we had a reservation, and sent us back to the front desk instead of addressing the problem. Rather than helping, he emphasized that he had worked there for 26 years and knew what he was doing. His attitude came across as rude, arrogant, and unprofessional. Once we were finally seated, however, our server (Jorge) was excellent, and the food was outstanding. The waitstaff and kitchen clearly provide a wonderful dining experience. Our disappointment was not with the weather, but with the way the situation was handled. A manager should set the standard for customer service, and unfortunately, that did not happen here. My friend and I ordered the soy marinated prawns, beef tartare stone pot rice, creamy chicken soup, Wagyu beef soft tofu soup. The prawns were nicely marinated in a slightly sweet slightly salty soy sauce, and came paired with some barley and seaweed to make mini wraps. Delicious and a nice way to start the meal. The creamy chicken soup was indeed very creamy and smooth but the bowl is really small and would've been better with a higher soup to noodle ratio since the noodles soaked up the yummy soup. The tofu soup was surprisingly bland even though it was very red. It could've used more umami flavor or spice - something to jazz it up since the tofu, egg, and beef itself were not seasoned. My favorite dish of the night was the steak tartare stone pot rice. It came with a lot of veggies that helped balance out the sauce and I'm a sucker for crispy rice. However, the rice itself wasn't seasoned thoroughly as some spots had absolutely delicious sauce while other spots were bland. And the sauce wasn't a part of the tartare on top so it wasn't a mixing issue. The staff are kind and attentive, even with us being tucked away in the back corner and hidden by a curtain panel.
