Shared my pastrami burrito. Simple coffee.

PASTRAMI BREAKFAST BURRITO!!! Located right on the side of PCH this breakfast place opens early and gets busy early as well. It's a small place with very minimal outdoor seating. We love coming to this place before we hit the beach. We always get the pastrami breakfast burritos but my son just tried the carne asada burrito and he loved it! Always a must will in town. BREAKFAST BURRITOS SERVED ALL DAY!

My first time here. I ordered the sausage burrito bowl with the tortilla on the side. I should have taken a picture. Anyways it was so delicious! Crispy potatoes and eggs scrambled perfect. I loved the sausage too I recommend this for a filing delicious meal.

BREAKFAST BURRITO....enough said? One of the best ones I've ever had and would highly recommend you check them out. I ordered the ham, bacon, egg, and cheese and asked them to add peppers and jalapeños which took it to the next level -- you have to add these when you order one (if you can handle a little spice). The service was great and the chefs make everything fresh to order, so expect to wait 5-10 minutes for your food to be prepped. All in all, totally worth the price of admission for how good it is and the generous portion sizes!!

Definitely a hole-in-the wall hidden gem. Country Kitchen is located right off PCH and is literally an outdoor quick service window. There 2 tables and some chairs to eat out in front (outdoors, no shade other than the tree it's under), but oftentimes people grab it to go. They have burgers, sandwiches, breakfast/lunch burritos, omelets, chicken tenders, and sandwiches-a great variety! Since things are made fresh to order, there can be a line/wait and parking may be tough at times. PARKING: Limited spots in the strip mall where it is located. SAUSAGE, BACON, POTATO, EGG, & CHEESE BREAKFAST BURRITO: It was so yummy and made fresh upon ordering. The green salsa that it came with had a decent kick to it. flavorful and had a nice kick to it. Just make sure to ask for it if they forget to give you a serving with your burrito! Recommend it if you're in the area and want to grab some goodness to go!

I stopped by Country Kitchen and grabbed the potato, sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast burrito. It was really good. The sausage was amazing, you could tell it was a big link cut into pieces, juicy and flavorful. The hashbrowns were crispy, the eggs were fresh, and the cheese and tortilla was warm and soft. The salsa verde on the side was outstanding and tied everything together perfectly. I make the drive to Malibu every once in a while, and this spot can be easy to miss, it's right off the road without a huge sign. But if you're in the area, it's definitely worth the stop.

Solid hole-in-the wall breakfast burrito spot. The ingredients are fresh, well layered, and most importantly, tasty. Well priced relative to others in the LA area. The burrito itself is simple. I would have appreciated a more stacked burrito and more ingredient options. I eat a lot, and wasn't quite full when I finished my burrito. From a quality standpoint, no complaints. Very tasty. I just wanted more quantity and diversity inside my tortilla. Others might appreciate the fact that Country Kitchen sticks to the basics (and does the basics very well). Overall, a very good option for your breakfast burrito cravings in the LA/Malibu area.

Solid little hole in the wall for a hearty, piping hot, breakfast burrito! We had the bacon, sausage, potato and egg burrito. It was a solid size and the cooker perfectly with fluffy eggs and crispy potatoes. The sausage was whole and I wish it was sliced up for more even distribution but everything else was layered well. We had "hot" verde salsa on the side, it was just the right amount of kick but not spicy. Definitely recommend this addition!

I've been eating at The Country Kitchen since the mid 80's. The sausage & bacon breakfast burrito is the best b-fast burrito in LA.

The service and hospitality were genuinely wonderful. Unfortunately, the food and beer didn't come close to matching the experience. I started with the Happy Days Honey Blonde Ale, which I understand is one of their most awarded beers. I was pretty surprised by how little flavor it had. It was nearly flavorless and honestly difficult to finish. I'd rather have a Bud Light, which somehow has more flavor. For food, I ordered the MBC Smashburger. It sounded like a winner from the description and looked fantastic when it arrived, but after the first bite, I knew something was off. The meat had virtually no seasoning or flavor. Even a basic amount of salt would have made a huge difference. The burger came with their house-made potato chips, which again looked great, but unfortunately had the exact same problem. They tasted like plain fried potatoes with seemingly no salt or seasoning at all. I don't know if the kitchen was simply having an off day, but overlooking something as fundamental as seasoning, especially salt, is pretty disappointing for food at this price point. There was clearly effort put into the presentation, but presentation only gets you so far when the food itself lacks flavor. Great location, excellent hospitality, and very friendly service, but based on the beer and food I had, there's a lot of room for improvement in the kitchen and brewery.

You really can't go wrong with the Lobster Rolls here, and adding uni takes them to another level. The lobster is the star, but that little hit of uni makes the whole thing extra indulgent. I'd skip the calamari, the batter was thick, hard, and more of a distraction than a delight. Get the fries instead. Don't let the line scare you off. It usually looks much longer than it actually is, and the wait is typically around 20-30 minutes. One thing that's changed: indoor dining is gone, and it's now permanently outdoors. The setup is still pretty convenient, though, with restrooms outside between the two outdoor patios, and even electric car chargers right there. Basically: come for the lobster roll, add the uni, get the fries, and embrace the outdoor seating. Worth the wait.

I understand that everything is more expensive these days, especially at a premium establishment in a place like Malibu. However, there's a basic principle that businesses sometimes lose sight of: customers may initially be shocked by a price increase, but if the quality remains consistent, the price is usually forgotten. People don't necessarily remember exactly what something cost one, three, or five years ago, but they absolutely remember the experience. When I got my lobster roll, my first thought was, "This looks like half the lobster they used to give you." I figured maybe I was remembering it wrong, so I went through some old Yelp photos. I wasn't. The rolls from a few years ago had easily twice the amount of lobster, if not more. Judging by some of the recent reviews, I'm apparently not the only person who has noticed. I would have genuinely rather paid twice the price and gotten the lobster roll I remembered than pay what I did for what I received today. And truthfully, I couldn't even tell you what I paid three years ago, because it didn't matter. What I remembered was the quality. This has always been a premium establishment, and I've never had a problem paying premium prices for it. Unfortunately, the price is still premium, but the experience no longer is. And $6 for a small bottle of Coke was just insult to injury.

My biggest issue with the service is that there is a very chaotic system in place for giving out orders. Instead of doing numbers like most fast food restaurants, they take down your name and call it out when your order is ready. Additionally, the food does not come out chronologically with when the order was placed, which leads to confusion. When we asked about our friend who ordered first but hadn't gotten her food despite everyone who ordered after her getting theirs, the employee was very defensive and short with her. My order was under the name Sam, so when they called Sam, we stood up to get our food. The woman originally had the burritos packed in to-go boxes and when she realized we were with the group sitting inside she quickly unpacked it and gave it to us on plates, but didn't specify which burrito was which. When we started eating we realized the order seemed incorrect. It wasn't until 15 minutes later that an employee came over and scolded us for getting the wrong burrito. Of course we did not purposely get the wrong order- they called our name then failed to specify what the actual burrito was when they handed it to us. We asked if we could have our actual order to-go since that was the food we wanted. She then took the 2 burritos that we originally ordered to the back with her and gave us only ONE to-go. She acted like she had gone out of her way to be kind and give us a free burrito. It seems she felt that it was our fault that there was a mix up and therefore we didn't deserve the burritos we actually ordered. In my experience with customer service (I worked in the industry for 7 years), that is NOT how you treat a paying customer after a mistake is made. All of this is to say that I won't be returning to Lily's due to the service. Besides that, the food was good and the serving size was huge.
