While I was out in Malibu, we decided we wanted to stop and get something quick to eat. I saw this place come up on yelp and it looked pretty good. So we thought we would give it a try. I ordered a Coke, a side of fries and a turkey, bacon, avocado sandwich. Everything was very good and tasted very fresh. The fries were nice and crispy. Both of the people we encountered were extremely nice. The Customer Service was wonderful. They were very helpful and very polite and always had a smile on their face. While we were eating, we saw many people coming in and out. This place definitely does get busy and for good reason. They do have several menu options. There are a few tables to sit at, but they also have additional chairs and tables that you can set up if needed. It's in a little plaza. Though it gets busy, there's a decent amount of parking. They do have a bathroom on the side of the building. For those who are ADA, just be aware that when you go to the bathroom, there is a step down. Not very far but watch your step. Definitely a hole-in-the wall hidden gem. Country Kitchen is located right off PCH and is literally an outdoor quick service window. There 2 tables and some chairs to eat out in front (outdoors, no shade other than the tree it's under), but oftentimes people grab it to go. They have burgers, sandwiches, breakfast/lunch burritos, omelets, chicken tenders, and sandwiches-a great variety! Since things are made fresh to order, there can be a line/wait and parking may be tough at times. PARKING: Limited spots in the strip mall where it is located. Needed a quick lunch while vacationing in Malibu. Found the Country Kitchen right on the Pacific Coast Highway. We ordered online and walked in to pick up. Food is fresh many breakfast options to choose from and it comes out fairly quickly from the time you order. I had the potato egg and cheese my husband ordered the sausage bfast sandwich on sourdough. Very yummy salsa given with the burrito (salsa verde) a slight spice on the tongue but not too hot you can't enjoy your meal. It's definitely the perfect compliment to your meal. My husband even added it to his sandwich he said there could have been more meat on his but he was doing a happy dance once the salsa covered each bite. The service is a hit or miss, I understand where the reviews come from on service because we said our usual "good morning" and "how are you" and "THANK YOU" after and we got zero response on all... Which is no worries the food speaks for itself. I would have given five stars but the stars are for the quality of food. Food is hot fresh and FLAVORFUL. The sausage was amazing, you could tell it was a big link cut into pieces, juicy and flavorful. The hashbrowns were crispy, the eggs were fresh, and the cheese and tortilla was warm and soft. The salsa verde on the side was outstanding and tied everything together perfectly. I make the drive to Malibu every once in a while, and this spot can be easy to miss, it's right off the road without a huge sign. But if you're in the area, it's definitely worth the stop. read more

I will say that there is a local debate over breakfast burritos: country kitchen or Lily's (next to The pavilions in Western Malibu). I am a lily's fan. Headed up PCH this place was recommended for a tasty selection of breakfast burritos and breakfast sandwiches. There are some tables outside only. There is no covered dining. I opted for the basic potato egg and cheese with salsa verde. I was told by a local in line this was the best salsa with a nice kick. I was impressed to get an incredibly hot well sealed burrito that would have traveled well. Portion was substantial and a perfect base to start the day. The other burrito was the basic with bacon and a red salsa on the side. Super delicious but I'm so happy to have made the correct salsa choice for me. Breakfast in Malibu can get pricey for sure. These two gems were right at $20. We had already had our coffee fix and instead used our hydro flasks. Certainly easy to see why it's a favorite among the Pepperdine crowd, construction workers, and the nice local in line for a post workout indulgence. Cute spot. My friend loves this place. She swears it's her favorite breakfast joint in the area. We dropped in to fuel up for our drive up to San Francisco. The Country Kitchen has my favorite 5 star bacon breakfast burrito. The food is made to order. The burrito comes out hot so expect to wait a bit for your food especially when it's busy. The burrito is well constructed with a layer of the ingredients of listed on bacon, egg, cheese, potato, and avocado (add-on) just about in every single bite. It's proportion perfection. My main critique is that I don't love the salsa. You can choose between hot or mild, but both the green or red salsas taste mild and straight out of a jar to me. However, the burrito is so good that I don't need to add salsa like I do with other breakfast burritos. The menu includes other breakfast and lunch favorites, but I haven't tried anything else. The customers include a combination of locals, beach goers, and out of towners.
