Great atmosphere when you enter...this time we sat in the bar area with a view of the wall of bourbon selections. Music is in the background and adds just the right touch of atmosphere. I ordered twin filets with toppers, baked potato, and lexingtonian salad. The filets were immaculately prepared and were tender and perfect, just melt in your mouth...the salad was crisp and refreshing, yet rich with applewood bacon. The potato deserves it's own zip code but was fluffy and had generous toppings, without being overdone. Dessert was also generous and the right sweet bite to end an exquisitely prepared and executed meal. Malones is such a great place to visit, everyone we have met there is helpful, engaging, and wants to take care of you like family. Great, great place. The manager we talked with was also top notch. My wife and I just had dinner at Malones Chattanooga. Mike was our waiter. He was wonderful and very attentive. My wife had the filet and I had NY Strip. Both were cooked perfectly. The spinach dip was delicious and Mike boxed up our leftovers to take home. When he found out it was our 20th anniversary he "insisted" that we order desserts to take home. One of the managers brought out desserts and informed us that for birthdays and anniversaries the desserts were complimentary. Since we live about 45 miles away I have only enjoyed Malones twice at business lunches and this was our first time for dinner. We both thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. Food and service were excellent. I had the salmon with dill sauce and crispy Brussels sprouts. Salmon was cooked perfectly. We had high hopes due to the reviews so I booked it for my husband's birthday dinner. He is Argentinian so steak is something he knows! However, I've got to say... the experience DID NOT match the reviews. Food: The ribeye was WAYYY overly salted and seasoned which took away from the actual meat taste. Service: it took over 45min to get our meal - WAY TOO LONG. Our server tried to make everything right so kudos to her as she was climbing up from a negative hole. Bottom line reviews did not match the food being served. (It is very rare when my husband does not finish a rib eye steak but this was one of those times). I had the sushi as I eat it about 2-3x's a week and am more of a seafood eater than turf eater. However, I could go on and on but, cliff note version, don't order it! Any of it. Period. read more

Well, I must confess that this was a place I'll have trouble praising enough in this small space. Go! Just Go! It has the most impressive bourbon and whiskey wall I've seen in all my travels. And, with the lights behind and under the bottles the look like little amber jewels to be both admired & sipped! The food was spectacularly delicious! It was so great, I went two nights during my stay there in Chattanooga. It's in its own building and for more casual dining and drinks it's got Harry's that serves out of the same place and shares the kitchen. The gas lights all around the place has a vintage, nostalgic, and cozy feel all at once. Price was very reasonable for the quality of fare. I had 2 Malone's Old Fashioned, 1 Sushi rolls on the happy hour, then had twin filets with a loaded baked potato and salad for $57. I think that's a steal! My friend had the Chilean Sea Bass that was on the board as the Chef Special. He travels extensively and said it was the best he's ever had! We had a great time there and we both said we always have had a barometer for our dinner in Chattanooga and it wasn't here, but nearby, and we both have changed our baseline after dining here! From the moment she greeted us, Melanie made us feel completely at home. She was warm, funny, and genuinely kind like the kind of person you feel like you've known for years. She walked us through the menu with care, offered fantastic suggestions, and made sure every detail of our evening was just right without ever feeling overbearing. It wasn't just about good service it was the way Melanie made us feel seen and taken care of, like we were her only table in the room (even though we clearly weren't!). She had this amazing way of anticipating what we needed before we even had to ask. Everything about our meal was excellent the wine, the sides, the atmosphere but Melanie was the real standout. Wait staff is clearly very well-trained and not only provide consistent impeccable service, but seem to genuinely enjoy their work and taking good care of their customers. We love the decor and very welcoming staff. The menu is full of many options reasonably priced besides the famous Hugh quality steaks. My top two dishes are #1 the blue crab pasta. Full of chucks of crab meat and has a tasty spinach pasta in a light white sauce #2 is the French quarter chicken fettuccine. Thr chicken is grilled and juicy and sliced in the sauce. Thr Alfredo sauce not too heavy. Too appetizers:1) spicy calamari with the tangy red sauce included fried peppers of various types 2) the chicken quesadillas from the Harry"s menu Nice warm French bread with garlic butter very pleasant. Many excellent sides: the steak fries, and baked potatoes perfected but a special side is the gruyeir potatoes croquettes are so soft on the inside with nice flaky crust. Yummy. Service is excellent. As we had a phenomenal meal at Malone's next door, we thought we would try its sister ship, Harry's. The place was very spacious, and wall-to-wall televisions were playing a variety of ballgames. We sat at the bar, where the seats were well-spaced and comfortable. The bar staff was reasonably attentive and friendly. It would undoubtedly have been a complete success if we had come just for a beer and a game. However, after we ordered, the image began to fade. Although producing a refreshing breeze, the open windows allowed a business of flies. Still, the flies were not as off-putting as the sour smell that occasionally rose from the bar. My wife ordered two sushi rolls, and I asked for the Wagyu Kobe Burger with fries. We sat for a good long while, as the place was packed. When the food arrived, my wife, as is her custom, was perfectly contented. I can't say the same. First, my fries were room temperature and mostly bits and pieces in the cup. To be blunt, the burger seemed as though it had been freshly prepared the moment we arrived, but it sat unattended for 15 minutes. The "crispy onions" sat matted in the melted, room-temperature Gruyère. Do you know the feeling of wishing you had gotten a cheaper and better burger somewhere else? It's not good. read more

Malones and Harry's has great ambience! The front area is so inviting and hip. We ate at Harry's the atmospheres amazing. Perfect to chat meet old and new friends. The service and food on the other hand are average. We had a delightful bartender named Sarah, but she couldn't make up for cold broccoli still raw not just toothsome but raw. The baked potato was definitely a pound but the inside was cold and the cheese wouldn't even melt. I would have had them heat it up more but the main bartender didn't give us the time of day. We met a very nice gent from South Carolina who said the atmosphere was great the rest was average. For the price even thought the vibe was really outstanding not worth the hype. Wonderful concept and we want to try the bourbon bar but is it worth the money when we could go downtown to the other eatery's and get better food with the atmosphere and service we enjoy . I will give it two more try's but it wasn't busy and we didn't order elaborate meals, so just a bit reticence to spend that much for what we had . ‍ read more

We have been to Harry's many times. We love the vibe on that side because it's casual and they sometimes open all the windows so we sit usually in the booths. The only thing I don't care for as far as the booths are concerned is the seats are not padded like the table seats and bar seats. Not sure why. Maybe because kids mainly sit there and we know how messy kids are. Lol. I also like that even though the TVs are on, you're not hearing a bunch of different games going on at the same time. It can get loud in there later in the evening, but we usually go during lunchtime. As far as service goes, we have never had a bad server. Every single server has been over the top great with a good attitude. We always start off with the bread. It always comes warm and is delicious along with the garlic butter that has boursin cheese in it. I believe the manager said it had seven ingredients. So delicious which makes it different from other restaurants butter. I have gotten several things off their menu. The steak dinner with the bottomless salad is pretty good. Sometimes I will just get the bottomless salad with chicken in it. I have gotten their sliders as well, which are pretty big for sliders. They're actually almost as big as a regular burger. Those are delicious and I usually get them with their house fries. I tried the mac & cheese once and did not care for it. Even with the many times they were busy in there the service was always great and they always came around and checked on you and refilled your water. I got a drink there that had different fruit in it, kind of a spritz drink and it was so good. I can't remember the name of it. The restaurant is very clean and the restrooms are very nice and always clean as well. Went on Mother's Day so we knew it would take a while. I was ok with that bc I know how busy these places can get. It took us about an hour after being seated to get food. If I had to rate the food it would be 5/5 stars. I had an 8oz filet and it was cooked perfect. My lower review comes from how expensive it was, timing, and the fact that when we were walking out of the place we were walking behind an elderly lady with a cane and one of the hostess at the front was in a rush to get back to the front for some reason and basically shoved my fiancé out of the way. She said excuse me but pretty much pushed her out of her way. We were all mind blown that it happened. I get you can be in hurry but we are customers.. food was 5/5. Great place! We went for my mom's birthday. While we aren't big steak eaters, we decided to try it since it's what they are know for. My twin filets (Oscar style) was excellent. Very tender and cooked perfectly. The salad for the table was very good, as was the bread. My cousin got the Poke bowl and said he loved it. The sides are big enough for 2-3 people are least, so we could have split those. The service was great, they may have been trying a little too hard though. The guy that was refilling water just about water logged us. Hopefully the service and food remains like it is, and it's not going to taper off after things settle.
