I signed up for a learn to play for my…read morechild and was told to pick up his equipment rentals on Saturday between 10-12am at Olympic View Ice Arena (OVIA). I arrived at 10 to find that no one on the premise had any idea they were giving out rental that day. When I contacted KT Tenneson about this, she essentially called me a liar. I then contacted Rochelle Long who told me that I was not the only parent to lodge this complaint and that she was sorry for their mistake. I was later directed by Michael Murphy, the president of the SJHA, to get the equipment on Tuesday between 7-9pm. at OVIA. I arrived at 7:30 with my 4 year old to find that, once again, there was no one on site. Rick Rongve finally arrived at 8:15pm to a line of 10 kids waiting for gear. There was no apology made, there was no effort to expedite the process. He simply grabbed the first kid and proceeded to spend 20 minutes fitting him in his gear. By this point it was 8:35 pm on a Tuesday night and I could not afford to wait around for three more hours for this individual to finally do his job. I will be demanding a refund for the learn to skate and I will be taking my business to Sno-King Ice Arena. Hopefully they will better because clearly SJHA is inept.

Coach Watts greeted the players as they were all coming in and treated them all with respect and like they were family. The training was next level. My son worked hard for the two hrs he was there. I liked the pace, competitiveness and the feedback throughout the group class. All the athlete there were working hard to do their best. I saw that this was the tone that was set by Watts Basketball. During the training Coach Watts took The time to talk to me about the program, what he saw in my son and how he can help him. His insight was right on as that is what knew my son needed. Seeing that we come from a couple hrs away he wanted to utilize my time appropriately so he suggested a week long camp style training with personal lessons and that is exactly what we did. It was the highlight of his summer training. He trained hard with Watts Basketball during those days. I saw the difference from day one to the last day. Even my son was impressed with what he could accomplish is 3 days! We are looking forward to continuing to train with Watts Basketball. The program there gets results! Coach Watts is great! You can tell he likes what he does and is invested in making his players come into there their own if that is what they seek.

Annie is a wonderful teacher! When I needed a SCUBA skills review, she provided me with a private…read morelesson that was extremely helpful and also a lot of fun! Annie is patient, professional and extremely knowledgeable about the sport! She taught me things I never learned, and the one-on-one experience allowed her to personalize the training specifically to me. The most helpful skills she went over (that were never taught in my open ocean course under a different dive master) were perfecting neutral buoyancy and how to weight properly. I had been taught to wear way too much weight! She keeps things simple, intuitive and allows you to relax and just have fun. I know she has a passion for sharing the experience of breathing underwater with anyone and everyone, and this passion exudes from every pore. I also went on a dive trip that Annie coordinated, and it was so much fun! The trip was well planned, and stocked full of extra lessons between dives about diving, photography, travel, marine life... you name it! This was a four day trip and she really made the most of the time she had with us. I could tell Annie just loves to teach, and she has so much knowledge to share. I am not a professional photographer, but her tips even helped me take great underwater photos with my point and shoot camera. I think she knows just about anything and everything you would ever want to know concerning diving, traveling and more! She has been all over the world diving, and she is just inspirational to be around because she is all about achieving your dreams! Well thanks to Annie, I HAVE achieved my dreams and I am now working full time in a career that includes diving. I could not have made it as far as I have without her. Annie is one of my most valued mentors, and I encourage anyone considering learning to dive or furthering their dive experience to do it through Annie!! A friend told us about this camp and we mulled it over with our son. He wanted to go so he could meet people and NOT be bored all summer. We signed him up for 1/2 week and HE LOVED IT! We were able to secure another week, a month or so later, he could not wait to go back! He had so many great experiences to share with us and is completely hooked on this camp! The entire staff were so friendly and welcoming, they made his experience one to remember! Since the summer camp, he also signed up for the Scuba Camp (same location) and finished with his Advanced Certification in Dry Suit Diving. He has made a lot of lifetime friends at this camp! Super job to Annie and her entire Camp Staff, you guys ROCK!!!!!! We'll be back!!!!
