Friday and Saturday nights the parking can be very challenging. Once seated service was quick. But here is how it works. You order your broth selection an some premium proteins online. The rest is pretty much self service from the various refrigerators. Seafood, beef tendon, beef with cilantro, gizzards, plenty of mushrooms, and veggies. The restaurant advertises All You Can Eat (AYCE), but in reality the selections are quite limited. Only vegetables, meat skewers, and soybean-based items (cold tofu, tofu skin, etc) are truly unlimited, and these are self-serve from their fridge at any time. However, SLICED proteins such as sliced ribeye beef, sliced prime USDA beef, and sliced pork are restricted to 3 dishes per order, must be order by request, and are prepared in the kitchen. Portions are small and not sufficient for two or more people. When we tried to order a second round, only two dishes arrived out of the 3. On the third attempt, nothing arrived at all. On top of that, the wait time for sliced proteins was extremely long. While the menu is promoted as AYCE, the service appears to intentionally slow down and limit access to the main protein items, which is misleading and disappointing. read more

First time trying AYCE skewer hotpot. ~$45/per person. Restaurant was clean, service was good. Waiters were nice and attentive. For hotpot you get to pick two flavors, we tried their bone and Szechuan soup (+1.99). The ordered meats were sliced thinly and tasted well (like other hotpot places). For self served, they have a variety of options for skewers, veggies, seafood, tofu, among others. They also have a small sauce and dessert bar station. read more

The parking here can be a bit challenging at times but it was lunchtime on a Saturday afternoon and parking was aplenty. The server seated us right away and pointed to the QR code. Fyi. You order everything on their web app which may be a little difficult for some of the older customers. The restaurant (which is the reason for the lacking star) is a bit dated and for some reason it didn't feel as clean as it should be. But it does give you the feel of being in a restaurant in China. The rice was also maybe not the best quality. You can order 3 trays of freshly cut meats at a time. All you can eat. There is a time limit. All the veggies and skewers are in the refrigerators and seem quite fresh too. Hotpot was tasty and we ate until we were very full. read more

MLBB or Malubianbian is another spicy hotpot where you actually have to cook yourself but they also have pre-cooked items on the menu too. This place used to be a la carte but they transitioned to AYCE and you go to the fridges and grab your own food/items you want. The special thing about this place is that there are items that are skewered. Like tofu on a skewer, seasoned meat on a skewer or bean curd skin on a skewer. It's interesting but it's actually a bit more difficult because you can either boil it with the stick on or take it off. The meats on the stick taste really odd in terms of texture like they use really cheap cuts of meat. They offer like sliced meat that's not on a stick. The initial order came quickly but additional requests ended up not coming. The service is where the downfall of this place is. I ordered additional sliced meat and that didn't come until after my check came. They don't really check up on you if you need more soup or anything like that. The inside is relatively big as most tables are for like 4 people. It's very blue inside as well. There are fridges on the side that contain the raw food and there is a fridge in back where you can create your own dipping sauce. This is no additional charge which is nice. Overall, not a huge fan of the service and the meat quality. It was better when it wasn't AYCE as the quality has dropped a lot. I don't recommend this place. read more

My friends and I came here for the first time for lunch on Sunday around 12:30PM. Our party of 8 was immediately seated and given helpful information on how to order by the wonderful front of house (shout out to them! they were awesome had had super cool tattoos). We were pleasantly surprised that the lunch AYCE price was $25/person. They have a self service model for most of the meats/veggies/noodles as well as the sauce bar. You can also order appetizers and thinly sliced meat through their QR code. There were some snacks near the sauce bar such as freshly fried mantou and shrimp chips as well as bing fen and fresh fruit for a refreshing end of the meal treat. Everything was super fresh. The meatballs and beef belly were especially good and the spicy broth had the perfect amount of spice and flavor to it. I definitely would come here again to eat! One of the items that you can order has a peanut topping on it and the host was considerate to notify us about it. Upon hearing that one of our party members was allergic to peanuts, they came back with some freshly made without the peanut on it. Such wonderful service. read more

I came here for dinner and I was seated immediately, there's a very comforting vibe to the restaurant and I found it to be very cozy! craving for hot pot and found this place to try, as the other 2 places we had in mind didn't work out (1 was closed, the other had to wait 2 hrs w/o reservation). we walked in, around 6:30pm on Thursday, when they were just setting an emptied table. it's not a huge place but all the tables were filled throughout our dinner. we were told M-Th they serve AYCE for $34/person. we picked combo soup base and freshly sliced, beef and lamb. the rest were displayed inside several refrigerators along the wall. there is a self serve condiments counter with enough selections but not as much as some other hot pot restaurants. the soup base actually was very tasty that dipping sauces were not necessary. not too many green vegetable selections (I only saw napa cabbage, spinach and tong hao). quality of the meat was very good for an AYCE hot pot restaurant compared to similar places locally. service was friendly. read more

This is an underrated hotpot place. It's in a strip mall in Rowland Heights, where there's ample parking. For whatever reason, the drivers there are kinder and more patient, so as a pedestrian, I feel safe there. The restaurant itself is clean. They automated the process so that you can order your soup base, veggies, meats (on a stick or on a plate), and whatever add-ons you'd like. They have a sauce and spices station (which costs an extra $3 but it's worth it), where you can also get shrimp chips, as well as fruit like watermelon and orange slices for after the meal. My stomach cannot handle spicy stuff so we ordered the mushroom broth. It was flavorful on its own, but mixed with the seasonings we chose, made for a potent soup. We ordered things like beef with enoki mushrooms, wagyu beef, lotus root, and a nice appetizer they call spicy pork (that you dip into ketchup and an orange peppery spice mix) - everything was mouth-wateringly good. We couldn't order more because we were so full as it is, so I suggest going with a large group. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed (we went at lunchtime), and the diners inside were respectful of everybody else. Our server Tee, was friendly and attentive. She made sure our water pitcher was always full and that we understood the mechanics of how to maximize our experience there. We loved our time there so much that we are planning to spend our kid's birthday there because his friends haven't experienced anything like this. My friends and I have been coming here before Covid and before it was even AYCE. We love the food here. My friends came before me to get a table around 3:50. They were not allowed to order until I arrived, which I can understand. I arrived around 4:20 and the lady told us we have to wait until AFTER 4:30 to order just because she wanted to charge us the dinner price? What kind of restaurant makes their customers wait just to charge us a higher price when we SAT before the menu price change? It is disrespectful and we told her multiple times, yet it felt as if she was stalling on purpose just so we couldn't get the lunch price. Then when we ordered some meat and rice only available when ordering through the phone, another table had gotten theirs first even though they ordered after us... This was my first time having Chinese hot pot! My friend and I came on a Thursday night and it was a busy night. The parking spaces are kind of tight and the lot fills up quickly so I recommend planning ahead of time just incase there is no available parking. The soup bases are delicious. I tried the mushroom soup base (very strong mushroom flavor base) and the spicy soup (SUPER spicy). I like the idea of the meats being on skewers because it makes it easier to eat! There are various sides that are offered. There are a lot of meat choices and veggies to add to your soup as well. Some of my favorite skewers were: beef with okra, beef with mushroom, and all the vegetable skewers. For all the seafood lovers, they have a wide selection of seafood and fish/squid balls as well. My favorite part is the dipping sauce! The fried pork is something I recommend trying! The service was okay. We got checked in and seated and placed our order; other than that we were not checked in on again until we asked for the bill. This place is super legit. The ambiance, the heat, the chairs. Definitely not recommended for big parties. Now let's get down to the food. The beef with enoki mushrooms were pretty good. That's the only thing on the skewers that I actually liked lol. Not a fan of the other seasoned meats. I felt like there was just way too much going on and it was hot and I was sweaty. So it wasn't as enjoyable as I'd like it to be. But my love for hot pot is undying so I had to continue on. We got a split pot, spicy medium and a bone broth. So definitely not getting medium spice because that kicked my ass in the end. My tolerance for spice is pretty high but it was hard trying to eat certain foods that soaked up the soup. Came by for some lunch with friends on a Tuesday afternoon. It was just the three of us and there was no wait so that was nice. When we arrived I got seated and saw that here was a QR code on the table. The staff was friendly and told me that I could also help myself to the sauce bar or the meat fridges. A crowd favorite on a Saturday night and I can see why. There were endless options of meat and a few veggie options but we all know we're here for the meat skewers. We went with the Mushroom and Spicy Soup Broth and ordered most of the popular items: beef with enoki, chicken gizzard, tender beef slice, black pepper beef, and cilantro beef. I can attest to all of them being good and it's nice that you get the option to cook them in both broths. As for non-meat options, we got dictyophora (a type of mushroom), seafood mushroom, and frozen tofu. I highly recommend getting all of these but particularly the tofu because it soaks up all of the broth like a sponge. I feel like some people might be dissuaded by the fact that the sauce bar costs extra, but I truthfully that that the broths were flavorful enough and the meats were well-seasoned or marinated that they didn't need anything extra. It's a small restaurant located in a busy plaza so parking can be tricky and getting a table for a group might mean you have to wait a while. However, the food was great and if you're okay with sitting outdoors than your wait time will be significantly less and the food comes out really quick. The service was also great especially since there was a button on the table to call the waiters over whenever you needed them (at least for outdoor seating). read more

I would give this 3.5/5 stars. This hotpot place was meh. It def has a more hole in the wall, lowkey feel, as the tables and ambiance aren't as fancy or decorated as other hotpot places might be. There is contactless ordering which is cool and if you want to order more you can just add more to your "cart" for ordering. The service was acceptable as they leave you alone to eat, but are easy to flag down. The food itself wasn't thaaat impressive. I like the concept of dipping skewers in the pot and eating it right off the stick, but it's kind of inconvenient if you put too many in the pot at once or if you put other stuff, not on a stick, at the same time. Everything gets tangled up. They do have sliced meat which is a good option as well if you don't want the skewers. I felt like the other meat options weren't as much as other hot pot places I've been to, but it's not like anything tasted bad. The soup was good and flavorful and it's good there is a split option for if you want a spicy or non-spicy soup base. I had a fine experience, nothing negative, but I don't know if I'd come again unless my friends really wanted to. read more
