    My choices on their platter

After eating lunch, I had a doctor's appointment in the area. While I was waiting I did a search on Yelp for dessert and found this place. This is large store for this type of product. The cases lining the walls seemed endless of product. It took awhile to browse through all of the selections. As noted by other reviewers the lack of labels and prices can be challenging, however the pricing is on the low end and not really a concern. My entire platter of seven items only cost me $11. My only need for labels would be to know what the filling inside is, if any. My favorite were the Bavarian cream filled pastries. I like how they place the filling inside. They do it differently than traditional donut places so as not to overwhelm the pastry with filling, only to compliment the dough. The pound cake I tried was wonderful. It was moist while not being too heavy. I should have picked up two pieces and tried some of the other cake choices.

If you like Mexican bakery goods and tamales then you NEED to RUN yes RUN to mama ines. This little gem is amazing whether you like donuts, churros, cookies, breads, sodas, cakes, or tamales. Everything is made fresh and amazing!!! Grab a tray and tongs and pick out your stuff! We have been going there for years and it never disappoints! Check it out! The price is great. The quality is amazing. It's everything you look for in a Mexican bakery. It reminds me of the bakeries we'd go to in California.

I had heard great things about Mama Ines' Bakery and thought I'd check it out. It's quite expansive and has a beautiful interior. Certainly a lot of recognizable staples plus a few pastries I hadn't seen before! I decided to try a slice of the Tres Leches and then also (not pictured) a chocolate cupcake. Unfortunately both items were quite dry (which is especially surprising for the Tres Leches since that's usually extremely moist). I personally won't be likely to go back, but I know others should be able to find what they'd like!

I love this place!!!! I had never been to this type of bakery, so for those who don't know. You grab a silver plate when you walk in and then you use the tongs to grab what you want out of those cases and then they check you out! I'll be honest I was worried with how "pretty" everything looked. All the food looked so delicious that I thought there was no way the taste would match. I was wrong!! Delicious!!! I did get a cannoli also and didn't like it, but I've been spoiled by placed in little Italy lol. Everyone was warm and helpful. Very clean also!!

Did this for my husband's Birthday and Mama Ines was an excellent choice!

Mama Ines is the BEST bakery in Indianapolis hands down. This location and the one off Washington street. I actually didn't know this location existed until last night and I was almost giggling when I walked through the doors. It's so big, clean and filled with the tastiest pan dulce (sweet bread) you've ever had! The ladies working are always so friendly and I love that they'll speak in Spanish with me. You can put in orders for cakes and other items that they don't sell daily.

The doughnuts are good but a lot of the other pastries have little taste. Service was ok and the prices are decent.

Does anyone know if they have tres leches cakes?

Yes! You may want to call ahead to make sure they are not sold out (I know weekends can get busy) or get there early in the morning.

I am so happy I hired her for our cake. I can't tell you how many compliments I got on the taste and moist texture of our cake. Our wedding photographer even commented that it was the best cake she had ever had at a wedding, and I would imagine she has eaten a lot of wedding cake. My family still talks about it a year and a half later. In addition to all of this, her price was more than reasonable and she delivered it to our venue an hour away from Indianapolis. We packaged the top in a Lock & Lock and froze it as per tradition. A year later on our anniversary, it thawed and tasted as good as on our wedding day. Thank you so much, Morgan. We showed her our ideas for a dream wedding cake and she even had some extra ideas to complete the look we were going for! On our wedding day, Morgan showed up very early to ensure the cake was set up properly. She also had a cake stand for us to borrow that really stood out with the roaring 20's theme we envisioned. Needless to say, our cake was PERFECT! It was gorgeous and tasted amazing! We didn't stop hearing compliments about our cake all night. We are so thankful we asked Morgan from Kat's Cakes to create our wedding cake. We will definitely be using her for future celebrations!

Broad Ripple Village is going through the same changes that other neighborhoods are seeing (luxury apartment complexes, shuttering of small businesses, raising of rents forcing businesses out of mixed-use space). Over the past two years we've lived here, I've been frequenting nearly all of the places here. Except Filigree. Until now. Filigree Bakery- off Carrollton Avenue, adjacent to Fresh Thyme Market and where there used to be a Lou Malnati's. The word Filigree itself refers to the intricate metalwork used in jewerly, the lace-like patterns of gold and silver one might see in Indian jewerly. Small but intricate. The feeling of warmth out of something tiny. The space is small, but the filling in the macarons were not. I got a 6-pack of macarons- picking out two Pistachio (natural bias), strawberry, strawberry with lime, and other some others. The amount of filling in the macarons was more than I would get at other places. So definitely very filling. I'm not a macaron connoisseur. Suffice to say, I liked it. The shop was nice. We need businesses like this in BR.
