What a fun restaurant! Great Mexican decor and good food! Quickly seated by a very nice hostess and the waitress was excellent. Took our drink orders quickly. I had the $2.50 special Dos Equis with a "build your own plate" two enchiladas and a crispy taco! It was delicious! I will be back!!

Great service. Food was amazing but their mango margarita is out of this world. There is 2 one in 242 and one on league line

Nice atmosphere with great music. The food was not so MEXICAN to my liking. The rice and spinach enchilada was my favorite from my plate. The waitress was sweet and very friendly.

The food was pretty good I just wish it came out fresh. It was room temp. The service was excellent our waitress was really nice and checked frequently on us. The ambiance was nice. It wasn't loud at all so we could comfortably talk across the table.

We were on our way home from Galveston and stopped in Conroe for lunch. We found this restaurant and we stopped. Then people we're Mexican. The lady who brought chips so spoke no English. Our waitress is debatable. We kept yelling the order over the loud background noise. Told her appetizer there times. The same with the el cantor. I ordered the El Cantor. My husband ordered the Chimichanga. WEordered the quesadilla OFF the kid's menu and an appetizer called El Flameodo. Let's start with tgec flameado. It was absolutely the worse "stuff" I've ever had. It was a white queso with chorizo and pico, the appetizer. It was so tick we couldn't dip it out to eat it. We tried putting a tortilla in, then a chip . Nooooooo . Neither worked. After struggling with it, we called our waitress over and asked her if it should be that thick. She said yes!!! Well there was money wasted. If you can't even get it out if then you can't eat it. We had two spoonfuls, then gave up! My husband said the chimichanga was okay but if he moved there, he would not come back to order it again. The kids meal looked okay except the rice which didn't look like Mexican rice. My grandson's favorite part of the meal is the rice. He took one bite and that was it. He did like the cheese quesadilla though. As for mine--i nearly gagged on all the cheese. I've never seen so much cheese on a single dish! I tried to choke it down and finally decided to move it aside so I could eat the poblano. It is supposed to be lightly breaded but it was not. Now I was thrilled with that as I hate breaded peppers I I thought that great. You can't ness up a poblano, correct? Wrong. It wasn't fully cooked. It was very thick and crunchy. It came with fajita meat on the side. The chicken was dry. The homemade tortillas looked greasy and one was burned in the bottom. That meal was so heavy I felt like I'd gained ten pounds when we left The salsa's and chips. Salsa tasted burned but I've had it at other places and hate that taste. The green sauce was chilled and tastes like it might have avocado in it it It was okay, but not my favorite The chips was the only food palatable at the place. Be aware.

Mama Juanita's was within walking distance of my hotel, so I thought I'd give it a try. They were very busy, but I was able to get seated right away. The waitress was excellent!! Started off with chorizo and cheese, with warm fresh tortillas. WOW Wonderful start My meal was a huge burrito, filled with tons of vegetables!! Yes, I know that sounds weird, but it was excellent and so flavorful!!! Rice and beans, along with guacamole were served too. I would definitely get this dish again. When in Conroe, give Nama Juanita's a try. Go get Full

Great service, fast, and good quality food. I had the grilled fish tacos and they were amazing. The frijoles were super tasty too.

Standard Mexican food with fairly fast service. Can get crowded on weekend nights. They do have a good breakfast on weekends

My husband and I go here often as it is close and the food is good. I really like the weekday lunch menu options including drink specials.

When they bring me a drink, and it smells horribly, like a dirty dish rag, chances are, that I won't be back ever. Ever. Despicable.

I ordered the Ribeye street tacos which are ribeye tips, (I cut the onions), cilantro, queso fresco soft corn tortillas with avocado salsa and spicy red sauce. I love hot food and this sauce was hot to me. So good! It also came with black beans which had great flavor. The restaurant has a Spanish, airy feel to it. It was clean and I would go back to this location again.

Gringo's is a Tex Mex chain, the name is fitting because there are a lot of honkies up in here. I…read moresay that with love because the food is pretty good. It's not the best but it's reasonably priced, the margaritas are good and everybody is having a good time. This location is nothing different. We were out in the Conroe area helping my Mother in law with her lake house and stopped by for lunch. I ordered the Seafood Enchiladas, my wife had the Presidente Combination and my mother in law ordered the Cozumel Chicken Salad. The shrimp in my Seafood enchiladas were cooked well but they didn't have that snap that really good shrimp have. Also, the seafood is on top of the enchiladas, and the flavors blend in with the cheese and the sauce. The enchiladas on their own is just cheese. The charro beans didn't taste Tex Mex enough, it was all sausage and like a ranch flavor My wife had the Presidente enchiladas. I tasted them and again all the flavor comes from the sauce on top. My mother in law's Cozumel Chicken Salad looked really pretty. I didn't take a bite though because that would've been weird. I like Gringo's and would come back to this location. We had good service and the restaurant was clean and well kept. I love that they offer red and green salsa, although their chips are a little thicker than I like. Overall it's a decent meal at a reasonable price... and the margaritas are fantastic, I really thought about getting one but can't let the mother in law think I'm a drunk.

The portions for combo plates are nice and are of great taste. The service is amazing from every operation. The restaurant felt very dirty and outdated, which made it difficult to enjoy the experience from the start. I ordered the stuffed avocado with fajita beef, and I only took about two bites. The avocado was a very bright/neon green, and the beef was mostly fatty pieces rather than the tender fajita meat I was expecting. The outside crust was also burnt, and the avocado itself was surprisingly small--smaller than the palm of my hand. My boyfriend ordered the chimichanga. The meat was very chewy and, overall, it felt like the food wasn't very fresh and may have been sitting out for a while. The meat was seasoned well, but unfortunately, it was still mostly chewy and fatty pieces. Overall, there were a few things that were seasoned well, but the quality and freshness of the food were a major disappointment. Combined with the outdated and unclean-feeling environment, this just wasn't a restaurant we enjoyed. We wouldn't go back.
