It is snowing outside right now and most delivery services are closed. After searching for local pizza shops Mama Lisa Pizza & Restaurant appeared on the search results. Good Reviews, decent web page and locally owned. Gave them a call and they did offer to deliver food tonight. Keep in mind it is snowing outside, about 4+ inches. I'm not sure if it's because the local Dominoes is closed or if they truly care about their customers. However, the food was amazing. The food arrived promptly on time with no issues. Although I gave a decent tip due to the weather, the overall pricing Is expensive. Remember, you can't get the best quality for cheap. I've been to this restaurant several times with family. We are picky Italian food eaters but when we want Italian we come here! Great food, great service, cozy style setting. Off note-It can get pricy real fast so just be aware of what and how much you're ordering! It will be worth it though. I haven't tried the pizza yet but have heard good things. Came here for lunch ordered apps mussels baked clams and mozzarella in corroza. It took 45 minutes to come out baked clams were the size of a half dollar mozzarella was Luke warm. Very disappointed as this place used to be good. Was going to order rice balls and other stuff to take home but decided against it. So, I want to really like this place but after a cpl of times here we have been nothing but dissatisfied. Tonight I specifically asked for all a vodka sauce with just grilled chicken and vegetables. The waitress kept repeating you mean chicken parmigiana with vodka sauce? Worst service I've ever had a restaurant. Called ahead to make sure they could accommodate our party of three - they said no problem. Got there an hour before closing, got seated, and had our orders in pretty quickly. Waited for an hour. Restaurant closed, the staff was cleaning the rest of the dining room, and it was just us left. Still no food. Eventually it came out, bland and cold. Should have just left without paying but instead we dropped an outrageous amount of money for the terrible food and service that we got. I hate to say this because I have been eating here for about 2 years now starting from 1st location and never had a problem food was always A+. Tonight I went in about 3pm and made my usual 60$ dollar order . When I got home and every one started eating the pizza we notice it was black on the bottom and uneatable . I called them to let them know the pizza was uneatable and they told me to come back and get a new one to show the cooks the pizza now I live 25 mins yet I drove back anyway . When I got there with the burnt pizza the manger was rude to me acted like it was my fault the pizza was burnt and said you didn't tell the girl it had bacon on it ! You have to wait for one now . I said very nicely no problem I'll wait . 2 minutes later I got my pizza and little did I know all they did was throw few pieces of bacon on the plan pie they already had made ! I didn't check pizza before leaving because I have been there for so long didn't think I had to. I am very disappointed I have been eating here for 2 years now since 1st location always spend 60$ or more per week. Plus drink or 2 at bar while waiting for food . I had a 50th birthday party there on 1/7/17. It was very snowy out n the place was empty. So you think the service would have been great. No we were rushed n pushed out of there so fast so the staff could go home early. I didn't have a chance to take pictures or enjoy the party. I didn't get even a picture of the cake I had ordered! Recently order from this establishment twice within two weeks. We order sausage pizza and it was delicious, the kids loved it! However, the second order of sausage pizza was poorly presented. On the first pizza, the sausage was cut lengthwise with great ratio coverage, perfectly melted cheese, crust was golden with spot on texture and great flavor. On the second pizza the sausage was cut various sizes, too much cheese, bottom of the pizza was burnt, and the taste was ok. There's a clear difference in cooks and consistency is important! Went here for the first time for my moms birthday on 02/01/17 and we were all pleasantly surprised! I have heard good things about this place but just never seemed to find a time to go. We also happened to go on seafood night and ALL of the seafood dishes we order were very fresh and the pasta was excellent! The meals also came with a salad, coffee and dessert! For 4 people our meals plus about 9 drinks it was $200 after tip but you certainly get more than bargained for and the food is outstanding. Stopped in with my boyfriend. We had wanted to try it since it opened. We went on a Monday night and it was empty, there was three tables there when we got there but I didn't think it meant the place was bad because it was a Monday night. I'm sure not a huge dine out night. So we were seated quickly. And our waitress was very friendly. She repeated everything was hand made there several times which sounds great. So our salads came out with the house dressing. I really enjoyed the pickled veggies mixed in the salad. It was the perfect touch and the dressing was amazing. I always get it on the side because 9 times out of 10 I won't like it so I won't even use it. But this dressing. Wow. They are doing something right!! The salad also tasted fresh. Also there is free refills on soda which I look for when dinning out. The waitress was quick to refill. She was very attentive with that which we really liked. Because those things I rated this place 2 stars instead of 1. I ordered manicotti and he got lasagna. It was terrible. Other sauce tasted exactly like chef boyardee you get in a can. His was almost all noodles. He showed me a piece he cut and it was noodles on noodles no cheese between at all. Mine was bad too. It was thin soggy noodles stuffed with soggy tasteless cheese. There was mozzarella melted on top that was the only good thing on my plate. If it is true everything is hand made here, they need to start buying better ingredients because it was so tasteless and bland. We will never come back. read more

Came here because of the gluten free options and was surprised at how great the food is! I would say at least half the menu can be made gluten free and the food tastes great. The portions are big enough to take home and the staff is very friendly. The gf menu even comes with gf bread for free which is different than most places. I recommend everyone I know that has celiac (and doesnt!) to this place. I just wish there were more dessert options that are gluten free. Overall, great place! read more

I just can't help it, it really bothers me to pay $13.00 or more for a pasta meal that was purchased at Costco, reheated and sauced at the rest, and sold for the same price as the bag of pasta that was originally bought at Costco, that you could make several meals with at home. The pizza was overcooked and smaller then it usually is and the sauce was just not the same. I have since learned that there are new managers of this place and they must have put their own spin on the food. I'm writing this after finishing my leftovers from our meal last Wednesday. We went on Pasta night and the food was delicious! There were 4 of us and we all got different things. We all enjoyed our meals, from the soups to the desserts. Definitely worth the money ($14 a person for soup, salad, pasta and dessert) and the 20 minute wait! The pasta fagioli was Delicious! The zeppoles were a bit cakey, but I heard the cannolis were delicious. Good enough so that my husband didn't even give me a little bite. We will definitely be going back again! read more

we went in at almost close not knowing it was almost gonna close and the owner / manager guy let us know. i ordered gluten free because of a sensitivity and he came over to tell me about these cupcakes and ask if we wanted coffee. i was so confused that we were doing something wrong because he kept coming over and that's when my husband reminded me that this was "old school good service." amazing. everyone who was working had a great attitude, the food was great- id like to say it's hard to mess up italian but this isn't the case. good food, good service, nice ambiance. well done! read more

I grew up going to these guys dad and uncle's restaurant, the old Umberto's of Patchogue. Its like the same place as far as the food, which is some of the best around, including the pizza. Umberto's use to be standing room only on weekends and was known island wide. Check these guys out! Friendly and professional staff round out the experience!
