Medford Pasteria is my go to restaurant when I'm in the mood for Italian food and they dont break the bank AT ALL on pasta nights! Mondays and Tuesdays, a complete dinner is $21.95 and includes choice of salad with fresh greens or caesar salad, main dish, unlimited soda and for dessert, a choice of cheesecake or a mini cannoli! Last night, arriving at 7:30, there was only one table open. It was crazy busy with 2 birthdays being celebrated. My usual night to dine there is on Tuesday, no reason in particular, and it was nice to see, at first, that they have a person named Carmelo singing while playing the keyboard as entertainment! Will come back to this in a moment! The food is always great and consistent. On an especially busy night while I was there they didn't falter on service or food! The salad is fresh and they offer Thousand Island dressing, my favorite! I find that to be a rarity to have at an Italian restaurant but lucky me!! My baked ziti was an amazing blend of everything, the pasta cooked perfectly! Did I mention there are prepared entrees in a big refrigerator when you walk in that are practically free?? It's filled with a variety of ready made dishes including pasta, chicken, seafood and desserts! Everything is priced at $6.00! That is an over the top great deal on great food to me!! Ok, back to the live entertainment! Carmelo was very good! He sang Italian songs as well as popular ones! He even took a moment to sing Happy Birthday to the people celebrating that night which was very nice but....he was loud, a little too much!! The restaurant was noisy to begin with! A combination of the restaurant completely filled and the loud music and singing I couldn't hear my daughter, AT ALL! Instead of talking, we conversed via text the whole time we were there! Except for a few 5 minute breaks, this was extremely annoying to me but for some, this might be a good thing! I will absolutely be returning to Medford Pasteria as I have yet to try their pizza except.... I will not be eating there on Mondays! read more

The eggplant parmesan was like soup. No idea how to make it, it seems. The regular pizza was not good. The pasta with garlic and broccoli rabe was not good, the pasta tasted old/hardened/not fresh. A day out in Medford to see my nephew play in a football game out here. We got a few pizzas delivered to my in-laws house post game. The delivery came according to their expected ETA and it was very good! Delivery guy was prompt and according the my brother-in-law, this is their go to spot in the area. I can get behind a place like this out here. Their meatball pie is pretty on point and that was my fav out of the slices. Grandma wasn't half bad either. I would come back. Unbelievable behavior from the owner. We ordered ahead, showed up 30 minutes later, and then stood there for another 30 minutes while our food was clearly already made and just sitting there. No updates, no explanation, no effort to communicate at all. What really crossed the line was watching the owner mock other customers who had difficulty communicating, including people who brought a written note to explain their order or situation. Instead of showing patience or basic respect, he made jokes and comments at their expense. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity--especially when they're genuinely trying their best to communicate. Delays happen, mistakes happen, but making fun of customers, particularly those with communication challenges, is completely unacceptable. We won't be coming back read more

Actually understanding of what Italian food is. If you want to add your " interpretation" perhaps consider how flavors, spices and seasonings interact. Veal Milanese with a side of sauteed broccoli rabe. Can't be simpler. Apparently dumping chopped cukes, olives and tomatoes drenched in dressing is their spin on this simple dish. WRONG! If I could give 4.5 stars I would . It's in a non descript shopping mall in Medford , but don't let the location fool you . This review is about the pizza , although the restaurant is quite good . The pizza here is extraordinary . They have a great pizza sauce and the quality of the pizza is very consistent . The best quality of this place is the toppings . How many places just slap on a few slices of sausage or pepperoni and act like that does the trick . It doesn't , especially given the price of toppings lately . I often order a pepperoni / sausage pie and you need two hands to hold a slice . And it's the good stuff to boot . The pizza here is a tad more expensive , but we'll worth it . Been here many times and was always good food until now . Ordered fruiti mare seafood. Calamari was like leather, clams were not there usual smaller size but larger tough clams. So I just got home with my food order. I was feeling a bit under the weather today and decided I could go for a nice soup. Lemme give this place a shot. Most places in the area are very inconsistent and I've pretty much given up to be honest. Ever since Covid places just don't give a damn anymore. I order two small soups, three slices & a chicken roll. I was told the chicken rolls aren't fresh so I had to wait for it to be made. Meanwhile it's prime lunch time. Go figure. So I wait the 8 minutes which turned into 15-20 minutes. He then hands me everything and says be careful with the soups. Which made me nervous to be honest. I'm always careful & I was only go around the corner back home. Drove cautiously. Get home and start to lift the bag of soup they completely exploded. Not even sure how that's possible. We're the lids cracked to begin with or we're they just shitty. Not did they both have giant cracks in both lids but they managed to leak into my pizza box and soak everything including my car. Not sure why you would stack two containers of hot soup like that. It really should of been given to me in a box. Safe to say next time I'll just stay home and make my own ramen noodle soup. Not to mention the two guys in there look like they hate their lives. Safe to say another junk restaurant in Medford. Time to make myself my own lunch after spending almost $40 on a disaster. Went for Tuesdays pasta night. So many choices for a great price. Food was delicious and service was amazing.

This is the best Italian restaurant I will probably never get to return to. We came into town for a CrossFit competition and saw this restaurant had some good reviews. The decor is a touch cheesy but in that, oh this place is going to be authentic and delicious, kinda way. They start you off with these larger than a garlic knot pillowy bread rolls that are like heaven. I normally don't eat the break but couldn't stop eating these. Next we had a pear, blue cheese salad that was very tasty. Meals came out and everyone was pleased. I got some cavatelli with fresh burrata, my friends got pesto ravioli, a carbonara and one other dish that was devoured quickly. If we didn't eat so much of our massive portion meals, I would have had dessert. Stinks that this place is so far from home because I would have loved to become a regular. Very disappointed. We order a chicken parm dinner with pasta and a chicken parm with salad. When we got the order they gave us a chicken parm with pasta, a chicken parm hero , side order of Caesar salad. Bill was about 48 dollars. They charged 12 dollars for lettuce?? The pasta was cold. Don't normally write reviews but this one deserved one...for all the wrong reasons. A co-worker and I ordered from here for dinner and have to say what we got was abysmal. We ordered a eggplant parm and broccoli rabe/mozzarella panini. To start off, they got the order for the parm wrong and we got a chicken parm (coworker is vegetarian), therefore was inedible. My order is where it got really bad. The "broccoli rabe panini" i ordered was half filled with sausage and was in untoasted pita bread. The sandwich was sitting in a centimeter of grease/oil which soaked into the pita bread. It was a disaster of a plate. Never order from this place. read more

Had some take out yesterday ... Beef Bolognese was fresh and prepared properly. Meatballs a little small but very well prepared. The only issue was the Shrimp cocktail which was fresh and flavorful. But.... when your lemon is bigger than your shrimp that's where the problem comes into play. I have had bigger shrimp in fried rice. Other than that I thought it was a bit pricey $34 based on the tiny shrimp and small meatballs. But if the portiowere bigger I would have been fine with the price. So my recommendation increase the size of your portions but your food is delicious. UPDATE 6/13/19 After reviewing a message from John the owner that he would instruct his guys to throw in a couple more shrimp. And that he would give me a free order of shrimp cocktail I decided to order a duplicate order so I could compare accurately. I even mentioned who I was on the phone when ordering. Well unfortunately I was disappointed again . 5 baby shrimp. Same exact order and price. Now some yelpers might say that I was looking for a free meal or a discount. This is not the case. I would never have excepted the free order and I am always happy to pay for a satisfying meal. But I myself am a owner of a service business for over 20 years and when client has a valid issue I address it immediately. I understand in today's day and age it can be challenging but without our clientele we will not in business long. So John I will keep the 4 star rating and continue to visit your Pastaria. The Pastaria has been a staple in the local community for as long as I can remember. The food is usually always good, but this place isn't ALWAYS persistent. The specialty slices are sometimes amazing and sometimes terrible..depends on the chef I suppose. The pasta dishes are always very good, pasta night specialties are a great value. The salmon bruschetta dish was not something I'd get again though. The garlic knots have never been very good (we always get them but always regret it). The salads are usually good as well. Went to an early dinner today at pastataria. What a nightmare. The place was empty and the girl at the counter said we could sit wherever we wanted In the dining room. My husband is handicapped and uses a walker so I obviously I pick a table closest to where we entered the restaurant. As soon as I go to sit down the waiter comes over and makes us move 5 tables down to where he is sitting having his lunch! You see my husband is handicapped, we are the only people there and you make us move so it's more convenient for you????? My husband didn't want to upset me, so we moved 5 tables down. The waiter had the worst attitude, told us half the items on the menu were not available and did not write our order down, which is fine if you get it right but of course he did not. The owner John should do a much better job screening his waiters!! So much for the rights and consideration for the handicapped!! We went here for a birthday dinner. More than 10 people. Upon arrival, staff advised that they did not have our reservation. Our host knew who he spoke to when making the reservation. The staff finally figured out that there was a reservation made. After seating us (40 minutes after the reservation time), they took drink orders. After that first round of drinks, we did not get any attention from our server for at least 45 minutes. To get drink refills for my wife and I, I had to take our glasses to the bar. Once the food orders were finally taken, it took a verrry long time for the food to be brought out to us. The food was OK at best.
