Staff is always very nice. When you are waiting for your order at least 4 people behind the counter will ask you if you are being helped. I love that. Dumb waiters. We walked got a table for 2 then waited, a family of three came in and they seated them right away! WTF! It was only 4pm on a monday, and there was no line out the door! So why would we wait in line for a 2 person table when there are an adequate amount of regular booths. So we went to Moriches Bay Diner and had excellent service. I went here with my BFF! and I asked for a gluten free menu only to be told we can make any of the meals GLUTEN FREE!! what no picking from the sparseness of a frrail list? We have been going to mama Lisa's as far back as getting to pasta night back at the old restaurant, over 15 years. The other night turned me off of them for good. We ordered delivery like we always do and ordered the baked combination of meatball, ziti and manicotti. It came on time and it looked delicious until we took a bite and realized the ricotta they used had been rancid. When I mean rancid it tasted sour and like it had been sitting in the fridge for a while. I am very disappointed and disgusted that nobody caught that mistake. Cooking with it you would of smelled it, it was that bad. If the person cooking that can actually send that out for delivery then that is a place I no longer want to eat at. The restaurant has a very nice and relaxing decor and the food is great from the chicken parmigiana to the mussels (my favorite). For dessert the cannoli are yummy and top it off with an espresso with some Sambuca. Since opening the new place next to 7-11, they added more parking and they have a bar for drinks while you wait for a table. Their only downfall from what I could see was the poor layout of their dining room seating. It is very tight with the tables too close together and good luck waiting for a booth. Luckily for them, the food is so good that most people are willing to deal with the cramped seating. Just remember to go early to get a good seat on the weekends since they tend to get packed and they don't take reservations. read more

I've been a fan even before they moved to their newest location which is beautiful. My family and I frequent here for celebrations. The food is always great! The portions are large, so you usually end up with leftovers. They have good specials on the different days of the week. We like to go on the Chicken Parm nights. Prices are decent, pretty much on par with a lot of the local chain restaurants. You would definitely consider my family some of the regulars. read more

My husband daughter and myself recently stopped into the pizzeria portion of the restaurant . We do occasionally eat at mama Lisa's and we enjoy the good food and excellent service . Excellent shrimp scampi! I do have to say that even in the pizzeria I found the service to be top notch . I had the buffalo chicken slice and loved it and a grilled chicken salad slice that was also very good . Im a Queens girl so I don't usually enjoy the pizza in my area. Love this place. Chicken night on Thurs is def my favorite. The restaurant can sometimes get a little loud, but the quality and quantity of the food outshine any ambiance issues. Had 3 meals here while in Long Island on business. They get most everything right. I had a whole lobster, mussels, clams and shrimp with fra diavolo sauce over linguine. It was excellent and a bargain at the price, only marred by being too salty. The server, Claire told me that the portion was large and enough for a meal and she was right. My next meal was eggplant parm with soup and salad. Eggplant was nicely cooked with a home made marinara sauce, the lentil soup was well seasoned, chunky and delicious and tasted as though it was vegetarian. The salad was fresh with a smooth white balsamic vinaigrette. I got an Italian hero to go, that was a mistake. The cold cuts were bland and the bread was doughy. I also had some broccoli rabe that was extremely tasty but overpriced and salty. Last meal I had was pasta fagioli and the Contadino salad with grilled shrimp. Again, the soup was perfectly seasoned and not salty. The salad, with gorgonzola cheese and walnuts and that balsamic vinaigrette was a meal with the perfectly cooked shrimp. Kaitlyn was the other server that waited on me and, like Claire, was polite, friendly and had perfect timing as far as checking for customer satisfaction. The things I didn't like? Salty dishes can be fixed. Somebody knows what is going on because the soups, which are usually the most oversalted dishes at most restaurants, are perfectly salted. I also have to say, as a former restaurant manager, the servers and bartenders were not hired over the phone. They are smart, personable, and attractive, except when they are very attractive. Just saying. Five stars not because it is the best Italian food I've ever had, but for the price it is a stellar value for high quality red sauce Italian. The lunch special and pasta night are too cheap, if I lived here I would be here 3 times a week. read more

Im not even big into Italian food but i do have to say i will be eating more of it if its comes from here! My boyfriend and I decided to have a night out he's been here before and it was my first. We ordered Fried calamari for an appetizer amazing! Then dinner i got chicken marsala he got chicken rotini i didn't try that but by the looks of it ,it looked delicious ! The food was out fast and the waitress was very attentive to our drinks as well. The food is so reasonably priced for such tastefully food. The only reason i wont give them 5stars is because the floor was wet by the front door and a older man fell, i seen the two young hostess laughing as if it was funny . Our first time here and we will definitely be back! Starts with house salad which if it doesn't come with your meal is only a $2.50; great house salad. We had stuffed mushrooms as an app which were big, well stuffed and delicious. I had the baked cavatelli with eggplant and my husband had the chicken scarpariello - both were huge and well priced ($15/$17); ended with Italian cheesecake and coffee. Coffee was great, cake was good but could have been moister. Our server Marissa was awesome - very attentive and gave good suggestions. There aren't enough good things to say about this place. Excellent atmosphere, beautiful decor, great service and amazing food. We had the calamari appetizer which was spectacular. The main course was Penna Alla Vodka with grilled shrimp. Delicious cannolli plate topped off the meal. I wish I lived here year round because it would become my favorite place ever!!!! read more
