Take out Review- I don't live around the area and never usually in the Mastic area but I just happened to be near Mama Lisa's so I figured I would call in a take out order and bring it home. When I called, the woman that answered was very nice and helpful. Ordered a Regular Pie, 1 Grandma Pie and 2 dozen Garlic Knots. Took around 30 min for them to have my order ready for pick up. Total came to just over $43... average cost of pizza in the Long Island Area. The reg pie was great, the knots were nice greasy and garlicky, but the star of the show was the Granny!!!! The grandma pie was spectacular, the sauce is so flavorful, a perfect amount of cheese and the dough was just right. All and all I was very satisfied with my Mama Lisa Order! read more

If you're looking for excellent Italian food at reasonable prices- look no further. The staff is as excellent as the food. This place is equally wonderful for date nights as it is for families. Exquisite cocktails and a decent wine selection as well. They give generous portions that usually last me three separate meals. We ordered for delivery on a Sunday, and usually the food is ok. On this particular day, the food was 45 minutes late getting to my house, and everything we ordered was cold. The pizza was so cold it was definitely left out for over an hour before they delivered it. The soup was cold and had to be reheated, eggplant rolatini was also cold and nothing to brag about. It was very disappointing as I had told everyone this was a good place to go to. We will not be ordering from here again. It's not worth it when you have to reheat everything when it gets to your house. And the pizza was extremely greasy. read more

Trying to avoid the Hampton traffic to NY, we decided to venture out and stop for dinner. We found Mama Lisa in the middle of Mastic, NY. We had the hot antipasto for 1 which came with a stuffed pepper, stuffed eggplant rolatini and stuffed clams. I had the broccoli rabe with farfalle pasta in a white wine sauce - yummy! My wife and I would take out pizza every Friday because she loved their grandma slices so we decided to order some dinners to take out.We just ordered some simple spaghetti dinners with meatballs.The portion was huge however there was no sauce!I mean like zero. So I can't really rate their sauce cause there wasn't any. It was very disappointing.Also the meatballs were just ok but maybe cause there was no sauce on them either.The rolls were very doughy.I think we will stick with Rocco's in Riverhead for our Italian dinners read more

Definitely great Italian food here. Had a fish special in a medals sauce- it was good but too much sauce! Maybe I'm just thinking too healthy.. Wifey had eggplant rollitini which was awesome. I usually come here all the time with my family and friends, but my experience last night was just horrible. First of all, im a big calamari guy, they did that right, it was decent. But then my girlfriend and i got pasta with shrimp. i requested my fusilli al pesto to be aldente. You know what i got? I got a huge bowl of pasta with shrimp (that later gave the both of us food poisoning) that WASNT ALDENTE. It was the mushiest pasta i've ever had, it wouldn't even stay on the fork. i'm italian, i enjoy a good pasta dish, but i also know when i have a complete buttsmoke one. We also contacted the owner to let them know about our bad shrimp and they pretty much called us liars because no one else complained about shrimp that day. Way overpriced for a pizzeria/pasteria in MASTIC. Don't waste your time here, you're better off going to Vincent's Clam Bar in nassau county read more

On our way back from out east, we decided to hit this place. I had been there once before and remembered it to be good. Service was good. Atmosphere is friendly. Has a good vibe. Food was excellent . My husband and I just ordered delivery and boy is he hangry! We ordered the Shrimp Scampi pasta dinner with a salad on the side for 20$. What we received was 9 piece of shrimp in sauce and a salad. When we called, we were told that you have a choice of sàlad or pasta as a side.??? Thought a pasta dinner automatically comes with pasta and a side is a side?? Shrimp scampi by definition is shrimp and pasta smothered in a sauce. So very upset!! Apparently you need to specify and pay for all ingredients of your meal!! Great find! My boyfriend and I were driving home to DC from Shelter Island, NY and wanted to stop at a non fast food place for a quick bite. Mama Lisa's was great. The staff were very attentive and accommodating to all our needs. We took advantage of the Sunday special for soup, an entree, coffee and a dessert all for $20. The food was delicious and enormous! I like this restaurant. I go out of my way to come here, because at times it has been fantastic. I'd like to comment on the House Salad with grilled chicken. Decided to order this, and let me first say that the chicken was fantastic. I would hope that the owners are using Non-GMO chicken, but not sure. The house salad dressing was very good. The issue is that the quality of the lettuce really brings down the value of this salad. Iceberg lettuce just doesn't cut it for the hefty $9.75 price for a small salad. I would strongly recommend using Romaine lettuce and Arugula instead, and the salad will not only have more flavor, but it's a healthier, more nutritious salad, and this should only help these salads to sell more. The Italian olives were a little soggy, the pepporincini was ok, the 2 tomato wedges were average. They also include a piece of fresh bread, which is very good quality. Overall, the salad is a 3 star salad with a potential for 5 stars. Hope the owners consider putting more effort into it. read more

We ordered baked clams ,when I took out of bag it was little tiny clams not what we wanted so drove all the way back to return but manager refused to give money back .I cannot believe they actually tried to say the seafood place was out of the normal so they were serving the baby clams and to them this was acceptable and no different ummm big difference . I have been a customer of Mamma Lisa's since I was a child. The food is good, however the staff need more training. They are incompetent in taking paying customers orders with specific instructions and saying Yes with out fully understanding the what is being asked. I ordered a dinner dish for one and had to wait an hour, very disappointing, to soon find out after returning home that the dish was completely wrong. I called back up Mamma Lisa up to just explain my frustrations on my dinner and was offered to have a new dish delivered to my home. I provided the same instructions as the original order and one hour later again, the dish was wrong. The food is really good however the front of the house tonight sucked so bad. Its not usually like that but tonight was so bad i had to write this review. Im disapointed. The hostess was horrendous.. way to busy talking with some guy and pretending to organize menus while we stood there waiting to be seated in a half empty restaurant. My fiancé and I were so excited to treat ourselves to a special meal tonight. We ordered a bit of a custom pasta dish but nothing too difficult for a high quality restaurant. We asked for bow ties ala pesto with sausage and broccoli rabe mixed in. The restaurant called 35 minutes after we ordered to confirm what we wanted and I reiterated it. The meal was delivered and was by far one of the most bland things we've ever had. The entire dish had NO flavor and we were only given one piece of sausage that was dry and over cooked on the bottom of the dish. Even the broccoli rabe was flavorless. There was no traditional bite to the rabe at all. It didn't seem fresh. I'm not sure how pesto and broccoli rabe can be served and have no flavor but mamas was able to disappointingly deliver on that. My fiancé and I even tried adding our own seasoning to try and help this sad excuse for pesto but nothing can help this. The rolls were also super undercooked and weren't even worth eating. The sausage parmigiana hero had the same overcooked, dry sausage and lacked flavor as well. Even the sauce was flavorless and the bread was chewy and tasted like it was from days ago. Mamas used to be high quality authentic Italian food. It's gone down hill over the last year or so and I can confidently say we will not be back. read more
