Told him he didn't give me the $5. He didn't remember but gave it back anyway. This was so disappointing. A large cheese and large 3 topping cost us $42 (insane!). Then, the pizza with the veggies was soaking grease through the box instantly. After letting it cool a bit, I picked up a pierce and all the toppings slid off. This was insanely awful. The customer service when we called in was terrible too. Should've known better then. This is the second time we've stopped here on the way home from Ocean City, MD. I had a hoagie the first time and a California cheese steak this time. My wife told me to make sure that I put in my review that this was the best Alfredo sauce she has had in years. Park out back, so you don't have to pay for a meter. Cheesesteak was ok, no major complaints ( I am from Philly) but waited for over 45 minutes for the sandwich with it not being that busy. I know as I was there and watched output. Most orders were takeout. Had to inquire about sandwich and then they prepared it 3 mins later. Understand staffing shortages but not even a statement of "sorry" other than acknowledging I had waited a long time. Not impressed. read more

I love good Italian Food and this is NOT the place for that. The sauce tasted like it was out of a can, the pasta was on the chewy side, the meatball tasted of cardboard. Then there is the bread. It looked like large croissant but it was the densest bread I have ever had. My wife got the chicken parmesan and one cut and all the breading came right off and the cheese was in one solid mass. We have ordered take out from Mama Maria before and the food was good. Decided to order from them tonight. We ordered pesto and chicken piccata. The chicken was not good and the piccata pasta had no flavor. The pesto tasted like pesto out of a jar and did not have a lot of flavor. We wound up throwing both dishes out. The best part we're the salads and cheese sticks. Very disappointed especially after paying $50 for the meal. read more

Huge line for the bacon offering during the bacon festival. Turns out it was because they only put out one pizza at a time, not because it was great. Bacon on pizza isn't very original, and the bacon mac and cheese bites were extremely dry. read more

Sorry excuse for a pizza joint. I ordered a pizza and a salad only to have my salad come out 10 min after getting the pizza. The fat bald guy with the glasses is rude and creepy. I thought this restaurant was a little expensive. I know we're in a resort town and places are trying to make killing instead of a living. We ordered one large cheese and pepperoni pizza with drinks and the total was $50+. At home I can get that for less than half that with the same quality. Stumbled in for a late night slice and a couple beers last weekend. The Bud Light was cheap, as was the pizza. The bar is clean and has a vibrant group of people in attendance, while not being particularly crowded or noisy. Service was quite good, and the pizza itself hit the spot. Not bad at all. read more

Stopped in for carry out on a rainy, windy, off-season Tuesday. Mama Maria was one of the few places open on Coastal Highway. Service was perfuctory, but perfectly polite. Ordered a greek salad and an eggplant sub, both of which were delicious and more than enough to share. Salad had fresh and varied veggies, and the eggplant sub [grinder, where I'm from] had well-seasoned sauce, a good amount of cheese and a tasty roll. A very pleasant little spot in the Dewey strip of hotels. Good for a quick meal, and was completely empty on a Monday night around 5 (a little odd considering it was Memorial Day). Food was decent, not bad by any means but very generally middle of the road. Cocktails were okay, I'd say a smidge overpriced for the quality. Im a huge pizza lover. I chose this location because it was a block away from my hotel and i was starving! I paid $4 for a slice of dry clearly old pizza that had been sitting out for a few hours. I went to the take away counter and the only pizza they had was a half pie of pepperoni. I have never ever paid $4 for a slice of pepperoni in NYC this is nuts! I would compare the quality to that of a 7 eleven but At least 7 eleven knows what their pizza is worth. This business needs a serious reality check. I mean its Delaware for christ sakes! I decided to stop in on night during my shift at work to order a Greek Salad after reading the ingredients in the salad online...it was HUGE and a deal for $7. Tons of olives and feta. Could use more lettuce. Stopped in tonight to get a slice after imbibing...they have a great pizza selection. The Sicilian selection was a little lax at 1am but I can't complain. Should have heated it up a little more, and at $4 a slice, I would have expected something a little more. Overall, good selection. read more

Spend a week in Dewey a year, this place is a must, I come out here at least 4 times during my visit, Franco is a great guy and if you're lucky Nico will be slinging drinks at the bar. Great environment for dining and grabbing a drink or seven. I will always be a customer, it's like a second home. read more

Incredibly disappointing. Uber driver recommended this place for good entrees and pizza. The only thing decent was the salad. Pizza was boring tasting, the meatballs were clearly frozen as they tasted like they could be soaking in water, and the kids even complained that their meals were just "okay." Every time I come to Dewy Beach I have to get this pizza! My family came Italy and I spent a lot of time in the kitchen with my grandmother. The eggplant pizza is my favorite and reminds me of my grandmothers kitchen. Crust is the best I ever had. This is the true pizza. I been going to Mama Maria's for years - but usually try to avoid it as much as possible. Was in the other day, since most other places were still closed and needed a quick sandwich. The sausage tasted like it was cooked the week before... They tried overloading it with sauce and peppers, but it didn't work. But worse than that is the owner - never greets customers as they come in. Doesn't say thank you when he takes your money or hands you your food. Another reviewer called them racists - I don't know about that, but they're certainly not friendly and rude. Which would certainly make you feel that way if you were a minority. I'm done there! Very poor experience. Went in with a group of friends and our children. My Wife and I ordered a pepperoni pizza to split. Restaurant wasn't busy but it took the rest of our parties meals about 25 minutes to come out. Our pepperoni pizza didn't arrive in the time it took for them to eat their meals. Waitress came up to us after everyone else had already finished to tell us they had a bunch of carryout pizza orders get called in and pizza had just went in the oven. We had two 10 month olds with us and already waited about 40 minutes so we had to cancel the order and not eat. Not sure whose fault it was but that just seemed like a pretty unacceptable excuse to me, I would think a dine in customer would take priority or at least be prepared simultaneously with the carryout orders. read more

Spent WAY too much time here on a recent trip to Dewey Beach. The bartenders are soooo awesome. Friendly, funny and one point, pretty damn entertaining. Had my first ski shot here. Yummy food and they even had Fernet!!! Granted I finished them out of it but the point is, it was there for the drinking when I got there. Nice owners, great happy hour specials and even have a live DJ. If I ever travel back to Delaware (so not likely), I'll be back. read more

Friends and I stopped by for a pizza and a beverage. We ordered a Mama's Special but received an all-meat pizza (pepperoni, sausage, ham, and bacon). By that point we were too hungry to complain, so we dug in. The pizza itself was a bit underdone and soggy in the middle, the sausage was greasy and not good, and the ham did not taste quite right. Admittedly, this review may have been different had we received the pizza we ordered, but for $23 I expect a pretty fantastic pizza. That definitely didn't happen. read more
