Extremely disappointed after having such high hopes. Our visit was during the Saturday night of Opening Weekend, so I do understand service being a little slow, but with the place at half capacity we never got waited on in the 15 minutes we were there. The waitress avoided eye contact with us as she bustled around. All we would have needed was a quick "Sorry, I'll be right with you" or someone to just get a drink order from us. We are fairly patient people. Finally after not being able to get someone to stop at our table, we got up to leave and were at the door and only then did the manager come to our table...to pick up our menus and continue on to the kitchen. The pizza was excellent, and our waitress was great. She accidentally spilled two cups of water on our table, but later in the evening, I spilled a third, so it was all a good laugh. My wife loved the scallops and sauteed broccoli. read more

Well made, homey Italian food. We had meat ravioli, Stromboli, fried calamari and linguini with a rich meat sauce. Dinner came with salad and home made bread. The half carafe of chianti wine was happily decent and drinkable. Casual family restaurant. read more

The restaurant serves the best authentic Italian food in the area, and have done so consistently for many many years and if you want Pizza there is nothing else that can compare; a true brick oven made from scratch New York style pie. It sits on the corner looks kind of empty could use a little update,plus advertising. But what a surprise ,friendly service,lots of choices on the menu. Good presentation,large portions. I had mussels in garlic sauce ( so many) delicious. There were 8 of us and no one had a bad word for their meal , oh yes I also had coconut shrimp yum . I have been coming here for years. Every time we are anywhere close, we make it a point to come grab a pizza. They have the best antipasti salad with their homemade house dressing, pizza is great with the homemade sauce, and terrific subs. Make it a point to add this place to your must do places. Stopped in for some take out to eat on the beach. Loved that i could have a glass of wine while i waited. ordered 2 slices of sicilian pizza which was pretty good but 4.00 for a slice seems high. Also an italian sub which was good however i asked for lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and hot and sweet peppers. I only got lettuce and tomato. Not sure what happened there but it was disappointing. Don't normally sit down that far in Dewey but might try it again if down that way. read more

Do not go here ever. My wife was charged $16 for two slices of pizza. When she questioned the employee he said she gave her a $10 bill even though she only had a $20 bill just coming from the ATM. He was rude and obnoxious. The manager/owner wasnt any better took the side of the employee and said my wife was lying. I live in the area and will never go back and will spread this story to all my fellow Delaware friends. It's a shame to lose a customer for such poor business practices, they certainly pray on the late night crowd to rip them off... read more

I really like this place. I've only been off season so I don't know how it is during the summer. I've had the pizza and the sausage and cheese sub and can highly recommend both. Danielle, our waitress was personable, helpful and all around super. The sausage was very tasty, they even sliced it and put in on our pizza when I asked for it! Did I mention the sub rolls are fantastic? The portions are large. I will go back. read more

We were on town for the 1/2 marathon. The spaghetti and meatball dish was huge. Served in about 20 minutes. Tasted okay. I did enjoy their salad. My wife had steak and cheese sandwich, which she enjoyed. If you want pasta you have to ask for the menu. We went by the menu above the cash register, which did not show pasta. read more

We are from New Jersey and usually wouldn't dare get pizza from other states, but this pizza was so good! We got a veggie pie, sicilian slices, and buffalo chicken slices and loved all of it! Was craving Italian food. Due to traffic, decided to stay in the town of Dewey. Before this visit, I only tried their pizza (which is great) but never anything else. Everyone at the table loved they ordered. Tried Mama Maria's Chicken Parmigiana sandwich and it was great. Waitress was efficient. Will definitely go to again! Fish and chips special app could have been an entree with 2 pieces of decent fish and steak fries that weren't battered/coated! Wednesday night dinner had reasonable crowd with efficient servers. The pizza was decent enough and that is not my problem with Mama Maria's. My problem is that we ordered 2 pizzas to pick up at 1am. When we went in to pick them up, they told us $24. When one of the drunk members of our group decided to add 2 slices to our order and his girlfriend argued with him over adding the slices, they men behind the counter obviously got annoyed. The price for our 2 pizzas and 2 additional slices became $46. When I found out about the $11/slice addition, I was outraged. I understand the drunks in Dewey can be trying to your patience, but they are also the source of income that keeps this town functioning. To take advantage of them in this manner is insulting and unethical. There are more than enough pizza restaurants in Dewey Beach to keep us from ever buying our late night food at Mama Maria's again. The food was terrific and very flavorful. Their Alfredo sauce is delicious! The only downside was the service. We had to wait 10 mins to pay our bill when the workers obviously saw us waiting. But overall, very good Italian restaurant! read more
