The pizza is quality. I love the four seasons pizza. The combo of artichokes and prosciutto is great. But, honestly, its kinda hard to get bad pizza in Chicago. What makes this pizzeria stand out is their service and dedication to being good people. First of all, they answer the phone politely. It's so refreshing to speak with a polite person. When I call all the other pizza places in Elmhurst, I am treated to sullen teenagers, or something said so fast and then being put on hold, or just silence. It drives me nuts. How hard is it to talk on the phone? Mama Maria's also get my business because they generously support our community. When we first moved to Elmhurst, we struggled to find a good pizza spot. We tried a few places, but nothing hit the mark--so we stuck with our usual from Lombard Rosati's. That is, until we found Mama Maria's! Their pizza is always fresh and absolutely delicious. We usually keep it simple with a half pepperoni, half sausage, and it's perfect every time. And we never skip the tiramisu--seriously, it's a must-have! The staff is friendly whether we're picking up or getting delivery, and the drivers are always pleasant. First, the good: the cheese on this pizza was excellent. It's high-quality stuff, on par with any great Midwestern pie. But the sauce and the crust let me down. I ordered a pan pizza and found the crust quite doughy and flavorless. The sauce also didn't have any particular flavor. It's entirely possible Mama Maria's thin crust or stuffed crust pizzas are far superior. I might return to try those other varieties. It's rare that a pizza place can do multiple types of crust well, so maybe it's just the pan pizza that's a dud. The cheese alone is worth me giving it another shot. If they overachieve on thin or stuffed, I'll revise my rating. read more

Four and a half stars isn't an option. Great pizza - and this place is awesome when it comes to making your pizza exactly how you want it. Super thin crust? No problem. Extra sauce? Sure. I ordered a pizza based on a recommendation of a colleague who deemed it a favorite and it was tasty but didn't quite meet the hype IMHO. The location is takeout only and prices are on par with other pizzerias in the area but, the taste didn't leave me with a - oooooohhh I have to go back and get this again and I was less than enthused about eating the leftovers. As with anything, it could've been "not the best day" so I'll give it another try at some point. Until then, I view it as good, just not a preferred thin crust pizza joint. But I'm not opposed to them in no way shape or form. It's decent thin crust. On the other hand, Bertolli's in River Forest still holds the key to my thin crust lock. read more

I attended a Ham Radio Club meeting last evening in Elmhurst. Pizza was served from this establishment but being lactose intolerant, the Club President Todd Benson ordered me an Italian beef sandwich. Unfortunately, they forgot to give my sandwich to the delivery driver and he had to return to the restaurant and had a newly made sandwich delivered back to our party in a jiffy. The flavor of the beef was outstanding with just the right amount of spice, excellent French bread, au jus on the side, and giardiniere included. It was hot in a round aluminum container. I have to say this is one of the finest Italian beef sandwiches I've had in a long time. Except for the delay because whoever packed the order forgot my beef, when the driver returned, it was worth the wait. Right now I'd put it on my top ten favorite Italian beef sandwiches as I'm a connoisseur and have had many sandwiches. Very few compare to the taste and quality of this delicacy! read more

Great pizza! I can be a pizza snob. Previous to MMP I was not a fan of thin crust. After all, I live in Chicago, the "thick crust capital of the world" but MMP changed my thinking. My pizza of choice is a "Phil's Way"; a thin crust pizza with an awesome red sauce and an amazing homemade sausage. We get our PW with mushrooms which makes the already great pizza "to die for". The best part is, the pizza is even better the next day as a cold snack. This really surprised me. My friend really wanted bacon on the pizza and I really wanted Italian sausage so we got both. And then we added some eggplant because why not? The 16" ran about $30 after delivery, but I think it was well worth it. The ingredients were all great on its own. Sure, the bacon maybe overpowered everything else and I probably wouldn't get the same toppings next time, but you could still tell everything was fresh and better quality. Five years ago when moved from Naperville to Oakbrook Terrace we tried their pizza and never ordered it again. Last week we moved to Elmhurst and based on recent Yelp reviews we decided to give it another try. Still horrible. We ordered our typical sausage and mushroom well done and it was thick and rubbery. This is not Chicago tavern style thin pizza. This is thick, bland, pizza where the toppings sit on top of a undercooked Never again. Way too many better options around here. Need to update this as we've had various pasta dishes delivered recently and they have been very good. They welcome you to "build your own" meals and we have experimented with several. Each one was excellent, huge portions, reasonably priced and delivered super hot. In my opinion, Mama Maria's has the best sauce of the Italian restaurants in Elmhurst. The lasagna, gnocchi, and ravioli are outstanding. I'm not a huge fan of the pizza, since the crust can be a bit chewy. My friend Nick said to ask for it 'well done' and it comes out much better. This is pretty much a take-out place, but there are a few tables. If you want to sit down, they have another location in Bensenville that's very nice and the food is the same high quality. Awesome pizza and awesome service. Just picked the closest pizza spot and was definitely not disappointed. By far one of the best pizza's I've had. The ratio of crust to cheese to pepperoni was perfect. The service was also great, the employees were pleasant and on point, they did not hover but approached with impecable timing. Crisp, caramelized cheese, and tasty sauce! The stuffed.... Well... From a a guy whose worked in a pizza joint in high school and considers himself a pizza guru... The best stuffed pizza in metro Chicago! Top crust was thin and cooked to crisp golden perfection, Then finished in the oven with a enough sauce to compliment the fixings! No accident ... Very deliberate and well executed! Panzas.... Fried and backed.... Incredible... I like them with a crust about half as think and twice as much sauce... But great! Love their Thursday special of pasta with red sauce. Their Mariana and meat sauces are so good! We get it with our pizza every week. Mama Maria's is also so great about having an easy pick up. I hope they never change it even after things go back to normal. It makes it so easy especially if you have kids and don't want to get everyone out of the car. read more

Got takeout from here. Got a large pizza with 3 veggies for $30. The large is huge! It's cut up into squares so does get messy to eat. But it was fully loaded, the veggies under the cheese.
