I came for lunch on a Friday while working in the area. My friend and I ordered Spring Rolls to share (with shrimp and thankfully without ham) and each had a large pho (hers with steak, mine the "advanced pho" with just about everything). The dining room was clean, modern, and had mundane atmosphere like a Chipotle, Roti or Naf Naf Grill. We ordered at the counter and sat down to wait for our food. Service was good and food was fine. My only complaint would be that the beef broth in the pho was not quite as flavorful as some pho restaurants and a little too sweet for my personal taste. I have found other Vietnamese restaurants do this for the American palate and I added chili oil to add balance the flavor. Portions were generous and prices were no bargain. After tax and tip we spent $60 for 2 people with just the appetizer and 2 large bowls of pho. read more

Such a bright and cheerful location that lives up to its pastel green aesthetic to represent the lime featured in pho! I felt the prices were very fair for the portions I received, as I had bought too much to compensate for portions at other places I experienced. Service was quick, kind, and the right amount of attentiveness. The P5 (eye round steak & tendon) was delicious and light, with a great kick of optional spice from the jalapeños. The Thai tea and Crab Rangoon combo I got with my pho was delicious and a nice addition to my meal. I had read many positive reviews about Pho Lime. Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience when my husband and I went. To start with, if took our sever about 10 minutes to come to our table to take our drink order. The restaurant was very busy. Once our order was taken it took a long time for our order to come out. Our sever brought over the wrong food to our table three times. The kitchen was very disorganized. It took over 30 minutes for all of our food to get out to our table. Then I noticed one of the most unsanitary things I've ever witnessed at a restaurant. A plastic cup fell and made a noise that prompted me to turn my head. I noticed an employee pick up the cup, rinse it off in the sink, and use it to prepare a drink. I paid attention to this, to the detriment of the friends I was with. Sure enough that cup that fell on the floor was served to our table. I told the server what I had saw and he remade the drink for us. We ordered the crab ragoon as an appetizer that came with iced tea as part of a combo. These were big and stuffed full. The cream cheese was still melty when I bit into it. We ordered the eye round steak pho and bun cha gio salad. The pho tasted good on a cold day, even if it did not contain a lot of meat. The salad was solid, but nothing special. The meat and shrimp in the salad was good. This restaurant has decent food but the disorganization, poor service, and unsanitary conditions, I will not be returning to Pho Lime. read more

Solid choice for Vietnamese in the area. Be aware that this spot can get very busy very fast, so be prepared to wait a little if you're going with a party larger than 2 at peak dinner hours. There's not to much in terms of immediate competition in the area as the strongest alternatives are really closer to the Palatine and Hoffman Estates areas. There are other Asian restaurants in Elmhurst, but your options are limited if you're looking for pho specifically. Service is friendly but can be a little spotty, and prices are quite reasonable for the amount of food you're getting -- particularly as part of a combo. Food is solid here, as I mentioned before -- you won't really find a better Vietnamese option in this immediate area, though the food flavor and texture was only alright for me -- similar to what you find in most suburban Vietnamese options. That is, the pho has an okay, but not super strong flavor -- you get plenty of noodles and vegetables, but meat quality is okay and not served raw. The bun is similarly reasonable -- with an okay marination and grilled flavor on items like the pork and shrimp. Noodles are fairly soft and the fish sauce isn't overly strong. Vegetables are fairly fresh, but the flavor combination is just alright. The crab rangoon here is filled generously and deep fried, good if you enjoy the filling and crunchy skin. Overall, this fulfills the general need for Vietnamese food if you're in the Elmhurst area with large portions and fairly good prices. If you're looking for a more refined flavor and texture, you're better off looking at spots closer to the city. read more

I love myself a good Vietnamese restaurant that offers the traditional cousins but also gives some flexibility in their menu. You can order by QR codes on the table or ask for a traditional menu. Don't skip on the appetizers like the spring rolls or chicken satay. The chicken was tender on the inside but nice and crispy on the outside and there was a nice nutty sauce to dip it in. You can build your own pho bowl or choose from one of the present options. I ordered the "dirty pho" which was spicy but had all the ingredients that typically come with the house special bowls you see at other places. The quantity of food in this bowl was quite a lot. There was only one size so it's nice to see them give a lot for the money and still taste good. Service is friendly here and the space feels very new and clean. So fire!!!! I was looking for a new Viet spot to try with my friend that wasn't super far. So glad I found this place cause I can see myself coming back. The restaurant is very clean inside and the staff is kind. It looks pretty modern inside too. The menu has tons of options with pictures. I ended up getting a Thai ice tea to drink and the bun bo hue as my entree. Portion sizes are huge so expect leftovers. Comes with all the usual fixings on the side. When they packed my food to go, I really appreciated that they separated the noodles from the broth to prevent the noodles from getting too soggy. When coming to Pho Lime, I initially thought it was a smaller more lowkey spot. I thought the prices seemed a little on the higher side. When the bowl came out I said woah now, because that bowl was THICK! The pho was very average, nothing exciting. The spring rolls were heavy on bun noodles, and also very average. Let me talk about that Bun Bo Hue though. Pho Lime has taken my personal #1 spot between all Vietnamese restaurants, and even some households, for that Bun Bo Hue. You can taste the lemon grass, you can taste the mam ruoc, but most importantly the flavor was blended together seamlessly. A friend and I were in the area and craving Vietnamese food. She looked up nearby restaurants and came across Pho Lime. Located on a strip with a boba shop, dental office, and a few other establishments, Pho Lime can come across as unassuming. Upon entering, we were pleasantly surprised to the inside very clean and spacious. We were seated and given a pitcher of ice water right away. I ordered the vegetable and tofu spring rolls as my appetizer. They came out freshly made and were quite good. My only "complaint" that the ratio of noodles to tofu was 3:1. For my entree, I ordered the seafood pho made with chili garlic broth. This dish was the winner for me and the reason why I want to come back again! It was super flavorful, filled with noodles, shrimp, squid, (imitation, which I personally do not mind) crab meat, mussels, and fish balls. The chili garlic broth was absolutely delicious! I like the variety of food Pho Lime offers. You can choose from the popular pho options or opt for a "create your own pho" by choosing the proteins, noodles, and broths. My friend ordered the fried house egg rolls and the vegetable pho. She said they were both very tasty. My hubby and I ordered two orders of Vietnamese eggrolls, fried tofu in garlic soup, 1 pho and 1 other soup. It was delicious and my hubby is a pretty tough critic but he had 4 different plates of food in front of him that he was enjoying so much he couldn't stop saying how delicious it was. I went around 1PM on a rainy Sunday. I got the meatball and beef pho. I also got a Thai tea and crab ragoon. The service was excellent. My server approached me three times during my entire stay to either clean up or check in. The womens bathroom has a modern design and is clean. The pho broth was good. I would rate it an 8/10. I personally like mine with a bit more star anise cinnamon flavoring. I like that the sriracha and hoisin out was cold and fresh out of the fridge. The noodles were not my favorite, but there is an option to put different noodles. Maybe i'll do that next time. The thai tea was very good. The crab rangoons tasted amazing. I really enjoyed that they had veggies inside of them. When they packed my remaining pho, they actually separated the broth from the rest! I love that they do this. I just think it was toooo bready- they used a huge loaf and so it takes away from the ingredients. There was way too much mayo and I actually gagged on a few bites. Overall, just mediocre. Just checked out Pho Lime. They are currently running a 15% off special for their soft opening. I ordered take-out, but they do have a seating area for dine-in as well. There are a decent amount of tables and it's cute inside, but not a traditional sit down restaurant as of yet. The wait time was about 15 minutes for a BBQ pork banh mi, beef banh mi, and a chicken pho lunch special. The chicken pho was very good and came with bean sprouts, Thai basil, jalapenos, cilantro, and green onion. They also included lime, sriracha, and hoisin sauce with the pho. The lunch special comes with one side, which we chose an egg roll. I asked for the Vietnamese egg roll, but they gave me the traditional Chinese egg roll. They may not have had the Vietnamese one, since it's a soft opening still, but the egg roll was decent either way. The BBQ pork banh mi was also good. The pickled veggies were delicious and the pork was good, but a little fatty in some places. I do wish the bread was thinner. It's very soft and fresh, but I'm used to the Vietnamese bakeries and banh mi shops in the city that have super airy baguettes. It's not as dense as the picture makes it appear, but it's definitely more bread than I prefer to eat in one sitting. I can't comment on the beef banh mi, because that was for a family member and I just handed it off. Overall, it's a good addition to the neighborhood. I definitely want to try some more of their soups and maybe their rice dishes. The total came to about $30, although the prices on GrubHub are significantly higher. I did the P8- Special Noodle soup. The servings are quite large, the meat was delicious, the food flavorful. Pho Lime also offers a pretty extensive menu for "build your pho", which two in our group of 5 decided to try and LOVED it. I don't see such menus often, so this was a cool surprise. The BEST crab rangoons I've ever had, and I pride myself in being a crab rangoon connoisseur. So good, they don't even need sauce! I has been dying to try this new pho restaurant near me, and it did not disappoint. The staff all seem to be Vietnamese, but the service was great. The restaurant is modern and laid back, and food can be ordered to go at the counter, or you can be seated with a menu. The prices are very reasonable, and they have tons of options from pho to sandwiches to drinks. The edamame was perfect and fresh, the crab rangoons were to die for, and the pho was delicious. The large is massive, so I will probably go with the small next time. The combo comes with a Thai iced tea that is the most unique drink I've tasted lately. I believe it is a strong black iced tea with cream. I wasn't particularly fond of the tea, but my husband really liked it (to each his own). In all my years being in the Western Suburbs (27 years growing up in Villa Park and now 13 years since moving from Lincoln Square to Elmhurst), I haven't found a great Vietnamese restaurant serving Pho in the the Western Suburbs. For the 12 years my wife and I (girlfriend back then) lived near 'Uptown' Argyle Street and all their great Vietnamese and Chinese restaurants, this tickled my fancy as "Great". Broth was equivalent to Pho 777 or Tank Noodle on Argyle Street. Fantastic broth and great quality Pho noodles (soft and not overly chewy). Also, their Spring Rolls have great dipping flavor. My next taster is the Bun Bo Hue, which if made by authentic cooks, is one of my favorite dishes (which was a delicacy from an Ex-Girlfriend's mother I can honestly say was one of the best noodle dishes i've ever had). My assumption it's as good as the other dishes we had their. Will be my go-to spot for Vietnamese food and I can honestly say I crave it at least 1x per week. To me, Pho Lime, Ming Chef, Maharaj (on top of the myriad of Italian/Mexican/Thai restaurants) now makes Elmhurst complete. read more
