Decent Italian food in Estes Park but nothing special. Our waitress wasn't very attentive or friendly. We ordered a baked pasta and a tricolor pasta which came with garlic bread. Garlic bread was tasty, tricolor pasta was supposed to have marinara, pesto, and Alfredo sauce. The oil from the pesto took over the whole dish and there was no Alfredo in it. I think keeping the 3 sauces separate would've made much more sense. Baked pasta was fine-average baked rigatoni. We wouldn't go back but it was fine for a post-hike meal. read more

After having an amazing and beautiful day at RMNP we were looking for a place to have Sunday night dinner and we decided to have Italian dinner at Mama Rose's as it looked like an amazing restaurant. We were seated on the table and we had to wait for 20 minutes before our server came. The server bought water and menus with him. He also bought bread which was not warmed enough. We had to send the bread back so that it should be warmed. After exploring the menu we decided to order beer for drink and for food we ordered Fried Mozzarella, Pasta & Vegetables along with angry eggplant. We got our food in 20 minutes. The interior of the restaurant was dirty and dusty. We came in during the off season, but still it wasn't nice inside. The menus were tearing and worn on the spines and badly needed replaced. Went off of a recommendation on Tiktok, and it was a good experience for our first night in Estes Park. We didn't need reservations on a Monday night, and tried a few different things on the menu. My baked pasta was a little oily for my taste, that was the only reason for the 4 stars. The service was great, and food was good overall. Wonderful food! We went the first week of November when Estes is less crowded. The servers were very attentive and our baby liked interacting with them. We ate at Mama Rose's on a recent visit to Estes Park. No one was at the reception area and we waited more than five minutes to be greeted and seated. We sat on the porch, which was very nice on a warm summer day. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive and the two stars in this review are for him only. The menu states that all pasta dishes are served with "mamas garlic bread." Our waiter also went out of his way to highlight that the garlic bread comes with the meals and we do not have to order it separately. I have eaten in many Italian restaurants all over the country and I have never in my life been served bread like this. It was two slices of extremely stale toast, that's it. It had no taste, it had no butter, it had no garlic. It was frankly inedible. Beyond that the food was very bland with almost tasteless sauce. I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

My husband's chicken Parmesan was okay, but the shrimp scampi pictured below should never have made it out of the kitchen. It looked nothing like the pictures or any shrimp scampi at any other Italian restaurant, and it had to be eaten with a spoon like soup. If you're going to this restaurant this summer, stay far away from the scampi or speak up when you know something looks wrong. read more

I'm from Estes Park and have had Mama Rose's for as long as I can remember. I'd easily say that it's possibly the best restaurant in this cute little mountain town. Highly recommend after a long hike or stroll through the downtown area. Despite the staff not always being the most welcoming group and the okay ambiance, the food here is and has always been so delicious! I always get the Baked Pasta and am never disappointed by the quality. The bread and Caesar Salad are also so yummy. read more

I genuinely wanted to like this place, but unfortunately it was bad from start to finish. Let's start with my drink: I ordered a dirty martini. It arrived in a sticky glass and had a strange, sweet, somewhat disturbing flavor (maybe they took the "dirty" literally??). Next, I ordered the special - mussels with fettuccine. The waitress said it came in tomato sauce, which was the selling point for me. When it arrived, it did not have tomato sauce, nor any sauce at all! It did not even have any noticeable seasoning or salt! The photo I took is after I added salt and red pepper flakes at the table (the dish did contain bell peppers, which were very pretty...but who wants unseasoned bell peppers and noodles?). I really wondered if the kitchen accidentally missed a step. This review is really more feedback for the restaurant's management than anyone else. read more
