We decided to try Antlers Rooftop Tavern because we were excited about the rooftop views. Our server, Eren, was friendly, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of throughout our visit. There were a couple of mix-ups with our order, including Mezcal which has a very distinct taste accidentally being added to my margarita, and some incorrect side dishes but the staff handled everything quickly and professionally. Since the restaurant had only recently reopened with a new menu, the mistakes were understandable. I ordered the Smashburger with fries, and my friend had the chicken fajita sandwich with a salad. The food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable for the area. The rooftop offers beautiful views of Estes Park and is conveniently located right in the shopping district. The only downside was the orange barrier coverings around parts of the rooftop while renovations were being completed. They blocked some of the views and took away a bit of the ambiance. Once those renovations are finished, this will be an even better spot. Great food, attentive service, and a fantastic location, I would definitely visit again once the renovations are completed. read more

TLDR: There was a large piece of plastic and a bone from the meat in my food. Service: Me and my friend were really excited for this place but the food was extremely mid. We sat down and about 10 minutes later, a couple sat behind us and our waitress visited and brought water to their table first instead of ours. In addition, another couple behind us was not seen by any waiter/waitress and had to ask a worker (who might have been an assistant manager? Although, not clear what his position was) if they can order with him. Overall service felt scattered, a bit slow overall, and unprofessional. Food: I ordered the tex mex bowl with barbacoa. It tasted as expected, nothing spectacular. However, there was a massive piece of plastic in my food. I let the waitress know and she apologized on behalf of the kitchen. I kept the meal because I hate waste and I didn't see any other plastic pieces in the food. Right after I found the plastic, I also discovered a bone in the meat. It was big enough to hurt a tooth if I had bit down on it but thankfully I spit it out before I chewed my food completely. While a bone might be normal to find in meat, I was certainly unhappy that now two objects were in this food. I was never comped for my meal and the manager never visited my table to apologize. I only write reviews if I had a fantastic experience or when I feel the need to warn others about the restaurant. Really disappointing experience at Antlers Rooftop Tavern. From the moment we walked in, the staff seemed determined to put us at any available table rather than listen to what we were asking for. We repeatedly said we were more than happy to wait for a nicer table in the bar area, but they still tried to seat us in the back room, which felt cramped and like they had squeezed as many tables in as possible. Thankfully, we were eventually seated in the bar area, which had a much better atmosphere and was lighter and brighter. Unfortunately, the service didn't get much better from there. When we ordered, we specifically asked our server to bring our appetizer out before our meals so we would have time to enjoy it. That request was completely disregarded, and our food and appetizer came out at the exact same time. We ended up having to leave our meals sitting under a heat lamp while we rushed to eat the appetizer. We also had to ask for basic condiments, and the manager gave us attitude about it. Every other table seemed to receive a full bottle of ketchup, while our table of four adults was given a tiny cup of ketchup to share. After taking our order, our server essentially disappeared. We wanted to order additional drinks but literally couldn't find anyone to help us. Meanwhile, we turned around and saw several staff members sitting at the bar eating lunch. Not once did anyone come by to check on us or ask how our food was. And unfortunately, the food itself was very subpar, which made the poor service even more disappointing. Overall, this was not the experience we expected, especially for the price. If you're visiting Estes Park, I'd recommend skipping this spot and spending your money somewhere that actually values good service and quality food. read more

Here's my experience at antlers Tavern, upon walking in we go up to the hostess stand. There's nobody there for about 10 minutes.. once the host did arrive we should be two in our party and we'd like to sit outside. He walked us to our table and we sat down. It took about another 15 minutes before a waiter came to our table. His name was Brad. We ordered our two dishes and I told Brad I'd like to order a Philly cheesesteak to go as well. I am not kidding you when I tell you, it took 35 minutes for us to get a salad and a sandwich. The food itself is mediocre, but OK.. the rooftop area where we said the top right hand corner was nice, but there were bees everywhere. I kept swatting them around nonstop. I then told Brad I was still waiting on my Philly cheesesteak sandwich to go. He goes OK let me check on it. I literally watched him walk over and key it in to the kiosk to order it. It took another 30 minutes for us to get the sandwich.. overall food two out of five, service one out of five and ambience two out of five. read more

My sister and I were driving through Estes Park on our way to Rocky Mountain National Park and decided to stop for lunch. We liked the name of this restaurant but were concerned about the fact that it only has 3.4 stars. We decided to try it anyway and were pleasantly surprised at how good this restaurant is! It definitely deserves more than 3.4 stars. I had the chicken Mac and cheese and my sister had the fiesta flatbread and both were fabulous. They have an amazing Whisky selection and I was happy to see that they had some great local beers. It is clean and well decorated and the staff was attentive. It is a mediocre tourist trap joint over all. The food was Chilis quality at premium prices. I had the bison smash burger for 20 bucks. The meat was bland and dry. I went during a fairly slow time and the service was slow and unfriendly. They are not even trying and seem kind of annoyed you are there. Im guessing not alot of the premium prices they charge go towards paying their workers well or else they wouldnt clearly hate their jobs. As we arrived at our table, (I am assuming) the manager gave some stern advice to the host right in front of us. After being sat, the nice ambience quickly tanked when loud pop music began playing. The tables were small and wobbly, and the food was no better than mid. The server greeted another table who sat after us, and then came to us. While taking my order, the host interrupted me to ask the server if she or another employee wants another table. The server did the best she could, but I couldn't help but notice there was a clear disconnect between management and employees. For starters we really wanted to like this place. The pictures are deceptive. When we first got there we stood at the hostess stand. There was kitchen staff and servers you look at us standing there. It took my boyfriend going over there to ask if they were open, for us to be seated. After that we sat at the bar, for another 5 minutes with no one asking our drink order. Mind you there were 3 other tables and about 2/3 servers working (the owner, I'm assuming was there as well eating and at times, while eating, serving drinks). My party got seated indoors but a member of my party said the view was nothing special anyway, just nearby rooftops. We could hear barking dogs/a possible dog fight happening on the patio. The indoor seating area felt like an employee break room at best - just white walls with stock photos of ingredients like cheese and onions hung on them and a window to the host stand near our table. At least it was quiet... until the room filled up and the music got turned up to the point where our table was unable to hold a conversation. The Antler Dip was $22 for about 1 1/4 cups of cheese dip and some bagged tortilla chips. I ordered the elk smashburger and was startled by its appearance (and taste) - two sad, gray, flavorless, flabby thin patties with a plastic-looking bit of half-melted white cheese covering a small portion of the top patty, a tiny little smear of sauce on a bun, and lettuce/tomatoes/onions on the side. Two others in my party also got similar sad gray burgers that gave me flashbacks to my elementary school cafeteria. Nothing that our party of six got looked good and no one said anything tasted good. The fries that came with my burger looked okay, but they were somehow chewy. They didn't seem undercooked, they were just oddly dense and gross. The only restroom available was a single-stall mall bathroom outside of the restaurant that you need a code to get into and it somehow still isn't clean. The only thing nice I can say about this place is that our server was kind. She couldn't answer questions about the food and after food was served we were forgotten (we had to find someone to give us the check) but she seemed perfectly nice.
