I've driven by this place for years, wondering how the pizza was at this small shop in the tiny town of Gilcrest. They managed to stay in business, so I figured their pizza must either be handy for the locals or is really good, so I finally gave them a try. They are a very no-frills type of pizza place. They have seating but you order at a counter though they will bring your pizza out to you when it is ready. Sodas are available from a fountain or in bottles. The pizza arrived in about twelve minutes, and from the first bite, I was thrilled I made the trip. The cheese was tasty, the sauce and sausage wonderful, but what really impressed me was the crust. I like thin, cracker-type crusts and this was one of the thinner crusts I've found in all of Colorado. It was crispy, but still held the cheese, sauce and sausage without collapsing. I inhaled the pizza, it was wonderful. Too often surprises are bad ones; this place was excellent and I will definitely return.

What a find! If you're on Hwy 85 and hungry this is a perfect stop! Pizza with green chili was soo good. Wings were perfectly seasoned.

We wanted to try a variety of pizzas, so we ordered four personal-sized pizzas to share. Every pizza was excellent, but the Classic Pepperoni and the Spicy Calabrian were my favorites. We ordered a personal for each of us so we could try different things and so glad that we did. We all had our favorite but unanimously the best pizza we tried was the Spicy Calabrian, followed by a pepperoni pizza. The flavors of Italy was really good and also the Marguerite. The crust in all of these was flavorful and perfectly crispy. The tomato sauce was really fresh you can literally taste the tomatoes! So good. The spicy Calabrian flavor was like nothing we have ever had, it was rich and spicy and yummy. We ordered a large salad with vinaigrettes and that was crisp and fresh. Overall 5 or the pizza. The robots that serve you the food are fun. Service was good and the decor and vibe was old style New York style. Great spot even better pizza for a 4.75 overall.

The landscape of this whole town was so beautiful. We waited 45 mins for a table for two at 1:00pm. Do try the complimentary honey, it was very delicious and different from regular honey. They do have branches at Denver city, I will revisit next time. Definitely recommend this place. Google does…read morenot give the correct directions - when we followed them, we ended up in a random parking lot a block over. I recommend setting the GPS to the brewery rather than the truck. When we visited on Sunday after hiking at RMNP for the morning, there wasn't much of a crowd here. We ordered and the the food only took about 8 minutes to arrive. Meeker Margherita ($21) - Perfectly cooked crust in this pizza. The cornicione in particular is expertly risen and cooked, giving plenty of charred bubbles and the perfect chewiness. The undercarriage, while floppy, isn't soggy at all. It hold up very well to the ingredients on top. The crust is first slathered sparingly with tomato sauce. The sauce is reduced quite a bit and tastes almost like a concentrated tomato paste. They don't use a lot so it doesn't soak into the crust at all. On top, there's a couple of pieces of basil giving a very noticeably fresh aroma. There's plenty of melted mozzarella cheese, which seem to be of the pearl variety, mild tasting and stretchy. They apparently also drizzle some EVOO, although there's no particular peppery or fruity notes, or heck any real olive oil flavor at all. With how well all the other ingredients worked together, the olive oil is very disappointing. Still, it's a very well constructed pizza. (5/5) Panorama Peak ($23) - Again, this pizza has the perfect crust. Instead of tomato sauce, it's slathered with ricotta cheese, making the pizza very rich and creamy. More melted mozzarella on top of that for even more fatty richness, then pieces of proscuitto, chewy and salty. The meat isn't sliced that well so it's messy to eat. They then essentially cover the pizza with an arugula, tomato, and shaved parmesan salad. The arugula is super peppery and bitter, the tomatoes are fresh and sweet, and the parmesan adds more saltiness. The main sources of salt are the parmesan and the proscuitto. Neither are added in large enough quantities to make the pie overly salty. Mixed in the with the arugula are a couple of stems of cilantro for some reason. Nothing on the menu actually uses cilantro so I'm a bit confused where it comes from. It's essentially a salad on pizza dough so everything falls off the crust very easily making it messy to eat. (4/5) I'm very impressed with the food served at Mangia Mangia. I didn't expect to find such great pizza in a small touristy mountain town. I'll be back next time I'm in the area!
