While in town for my son's youth sports, we ended our day by stopped at Jim's Wings. It was a Sunday and extremely busy with people watching football. However, we decided to wait anyway and accepted that the food might take a while. They were actually quicker than they expected to be with out food, which was nice and everything was delicious. Our group had a lot of wing lovers who really enjoyed their meals, which I consider a huge win! Also, the kids were very happy with their kids meals as well. I do not believe in using this platform to promote negativity. I have rarely left a bad review, as I know that customer service is absolutely subjective and dependent on so many variables. This was my first visit to Jim's, and they were busy. I'll start by saying that I really enjoyed the sauce. We got a 32 oz bottle of Mild and Medium, and both are delicious. Atmosphere was lively, and though we ordered take out, they were absolutely on top of the busy on-goings while we waited. That said, when we got home I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. The wings were crispy, so they were cooked well. And as discussed, the flavor of the sauce was good. But the actual wings themselves were so small. This is unfortunately the exact reason we've stopped visiting another wing place. Great sauce, but the value due to the literal size of the wing is poor, at best. The restaurant business is a tight balancing act, but when you sacrifice quality to inflate margins it shows. read more

I've been to Jim's Wings a few times now and unfortunately I've just never been particularly impressed by the food. It's not bad, but for a place specializing in wings, I keep hoping for a little more flavor. The biggest thing for me is the wing sauce. The sauces I've tried have been very thin and runny and came across as more oily than flavorful. I'd love to see thicker sauces with stronger flavors that really coat the wings. I'm still looking for that place in Fort Collins where I can get a really flavorful order of wings, and I think improving the sauces would make a huge difference here. The restaurant itself is pretty basic, but it's always been clean and there's a decent amount of room to move around even when they're crowded. You order at the counter, which is fine, although on one particularly busy visit they were keeping the napkins behind the counter. Having to wait and ask an already busy employee for something as simple as a napkin seemed unnecessary. Making things like that easily accessible to customers would probably help both the staff and customers when they're busy. I do want to give them credit for being accommodating. We came in specifically to watch the CSU women's basketball team play in Vegas and they were happy to change one of the TVs to the game for us, which I really appreciated. I've given the food a few tries and haven't found anything that really stands out to me yet, but the restaurant is clean, there's plenty of space and we've had accommodating service. I'd love to see a little more attention put into the flavor and consistency of the wing sauces because that's the one thing that could really convince me to give Jim's Wings another try. read more

We learned about Jim's Wings from a national review, and wanted to verify it for ourselves. We ordered four different types of flavors (teriyaki, garlic parm, lemon dry rub, and sweet/spicy) along with two sides. The min order is five wings. The order took a while, but it arrived piping hot and had the right texture, sauce flavors, and sides. I would recommend the food though the sides that we ordered were just okay. The place was hoppin' with a lot of families and table space was scarce but the service was good overall. It's worth a stop! read more

Found ourselves here following a Sam Reid/Studio Revue video on the best chicken wings in every state! Was pleasantly surprised to see the (bonus) Colorado location here in our stomping grounds! Got there a few minutes after opening and there was already a decent crowd. We were about the 4th group to order, and it was a steady flow of people the entire time we were there! It was our first time at Jim's and the gentleman working the counter was very patient with us and told us about some of the deals and best flavors Jim's has to offer. We ended up ordering off of his recommendations! The biggest thing I've seen review wise from both Yelp and the video was saw was wait time. Now - it's no secret that good chicken wings take time! We ordered a few minutes after 11 and had our wings less than 20 minutes later. I imagine it's much slower when it's a busy game day, but I was impressed with the turnaround! From first impression, everything looked great! Some of the wings were a little bit on the smaller side, but all of our food was hot, crispy, and our wings were definitely not skimping on sauce! I had the mango habanero sauce. I was hoping it would be a little spicier, but they had great flavor. My boyfriend got the hot wings and they were a nice buffalo hot flavor. After we ordered, we noticed a flavor up on their board that isn't on their physical menu (a jalapeño lemon pepper rub). We asked the nice gentleman working if we could try it and he brought us a little container of the seasoning for us to sprinkle on a wing - that one was phenomenal! Great flavor and definitely packing a little heat! Will definitely get that one if they have it next time. The stuffed jalapeño poppers were delicious! Great flavor and nice and crispy. The fries were also a nice crispness. Need better ketchup at Jim's, but at least the ranch is good!! Enjoyed some March Madness games while we were there. Pretty sad the last few times I've gone. My moto for this place is "if it's busy, steer clear." Because it's gonna suck. Jim's is really great when it's good. I used to love this place and come every weekend until one of the workers was a complete ass hole. He had horrible customer service and would mumble to the customers so you can't hear him. He proceeded to follow me to my table to ask me what I was drinking in a disrespectful way when there was an entire line of people waiting to order. I see you Jim's Wings! I see you. This might be the best wing place I've ever been to and of course it's over 75 miles from where I live. My sister suggested this place for lunch and I must say I'm not the biggest fan of wings, but if they have boneless, I'm down. Parking is a bit of a cluster f***, but there's another small lot behind the building which is where we had to park. We walked in and the place was packed which is always a good sign. You do have to order at the front and then take a number. The food took about 15 minutes and was worth every second of the wait. The staff are all very nice, patient and helpful. The prices are affordable and incredibly cheap compared to other wing places, especially their boneless wings. $8.95 for 8 wings and fries, plus carrots and celery. You can't beat that anywhere else. The food is spectacular. I got the boneless mild buffalo wings and loved that they weren't overly greasy or sauced. The fries were great with a little kick and well seasoned. Also, ordered a side of fried zucchini and they were tasty and you get a lot for $6 bucks. All in all, Jim's Wings is where it's at in terms of wangggs and all the goodies that it comes with. The location is hidden away from the public eye and so you have to know someone or have them show you the location. But its expected because it's a college town . Wow, I really love Jim's Wings lunch special. In the lunch special you get hella wings, fries and a beverage for a really good price. The vibe at Jim's is very neighborhood oriented, there's families, couples, and friends that dine there. I love their wings- truly they are very crispy. Was looking for a wing place that has gluten/lactose free options. I found this place in Fort Collins, located not too far from the Old Town section. I called and found that they have a separate fryer for their gluten free customers, so I went. When I arrived there was a nice long parking lot to park in and a sushi restaurant next door. I came on a Friday evening and Jim's was busy. There was about 60 people eating at the tables inside. (See my attached pictures) When I got to the counter I was pleasantly greeted by the male staff at the register. He told me there is a separate fryer used for both gluten free wings and fries. I was happy to hear this, and ordered wings and fries. There was about 8 different types of wing flavors you can get. I chose honey barbecue and mango habanero. After ordering, I took a stand with a number on it and sat at an open table. The prices were decent, Starting at $4 for 5 wings. Which is exactly where they should be if they want their place to be busy with customers all the time, and if they want to take the business away from other wing places in the are. The wings tasted good. The mango habanero sauce was great. Spicy, but nothing overwhelming that you should worry about. The barbecue wings were also good too, as I typically imagined honey barbecue would taste. The fries were good, and nice to have on the side as an alternative while having some wings. The wing order comes with smaller bite-sized carrots and celery, which I thought was a good idea. As I sat, I could see that many people ordered pitchers of beer with their wings. The service was great, being both attentive and friendly. I noticed people asking for more napkins, just like I did because of the wing sauce on my fingers. Suggestions: I really like this place. I don't have too many suggestions, though I do think it would be great if they indicated more about their gluten free options on their menu. I think they should have some type of hard cider on tap, preferably from Scrumpy's or Stem ciders. I think that this place would do good if they had a .35 cent wing night (for example) called wing-Wednesday's. I also think that some of the bigger tables should be broken up into smaller tables, seeing that most people came in groups of around 3. I know there is limited space. Overall, I think this is the best wing place in the area, mostly because of their decent price on wings and gluten free accommodations. I've had countless wrongdoings here from having to wait 40 minutes for pickup because the staff didn't know our food was already on the counter, or the staff not giving us food that we paid for while simultaneously trying to convince us we're wrong. Today was the nail in the coffin. My order was incorrect, I brought this up politely, the staff then told me I was wrong and need to be more specific, god forbid they make a mistake right? I can't stand writing reviews like an armchair critic, especially negative ones, but hopefully someone from the crew reads this and shows an ounce of care to improve the service. We have been here before a few times and have always had a good experience. This time was even better! When we walked in, it wasn't very busy and that probably helped. I asked some questions about the beer they had on tap and our cashier gave me a sample of a couple beers without me asking. He also gave us suggestions on appetizers while we were deciding. We decided on the fried zucchini in order to balance the meal with a healthy veggie. When the food was brought to the table, the server placed the "hot" chicken strips in front of me instead of my wife...which was a failed assumption. The chicken strips were quite good and the honey bbq sauce was tasty. My wife got the x-hot sauce in her strips and loved it. My beer was pretty good, but was served in a frosted glass. The zucchini chips were pretty good and fresh and came with ranch dressing. There were 8 televisions with sports playing, so we got our sports fix. A pretty great visit and the selection of sides and chicken options puts the place above the others, along with the great flavor. read more
