We were in the mood for some pasta and someone had recommended Mama Silvia's. Initially, the restaurant looks small, but as you enter you realize they have an upstairs area. My sister and I decided to share the carbonara, but each order the table-side Caesar salad. Both were great! Our server Savannah was amazing! We were a group of six, and we had some picky eaters but she was so patient. The table-side Caesar was delicious. The flavor was so good and something I'll be ordering anytime I come here!

Another fantastic meal at Mam Silvia's. Great service for Francesco. We had a cozy romantic table near the exhibition kitchen. We went 1 hour before closing (we were on the lake that day) they never made us feel rushed. I just love it there

After riding the Durango Silverton Railway which is a 9 hour train ride. We decided to have dinner before heading back to the hotel room. We found this little Italian restaurant by mistake on our way somewhere else. This turned out to be great decision on our part as everything about our experience was superb. We were greeted with friendly faces and seated rather quickly as they worked us in without a reservation. We both ordered the pistachio crusted chilean sea bass with fried polenta. Let just say the food melted in your mouth. Our waiter Dan was gracious, knowledgeable about everything on the menu and extremely pleasant. I loved the set up of restaurant as well. We sat by the kitchen which was open so you could see the chef's cook and pastry chef prepared the meals. For me that was totally AWESOME. Plus they had a tv that played a show of how each dish was made. Which was even more exciting. I told Mark I just need Gordon Ramsey to pop up and I would die happy.

If I started this review as frustrating as my dining experience at Mama Silvia's you'd stop reading so I'll start with the good news, the food is good-5 stars good but the ordering process is a mess. If you're dining in you likely won't have any issues so enjoy! If you're trying to order Togo please keep reading. To start, there are two reviews for the same place here on Yelp, Mama Silvia's and Mamm Silvia's, ironically, the one spelt incorrectly has the site information http://www.mammasilvias.com which does have an updated menu but you can not order online from the site or yelp. Ok, inconvenient but not a big deal, I call to order only for the recording to refer me to the online ordering site-seriously. On my second attempt to call I request transfer to Mamma Silvia's and got the automated message that the "voice mailbox has not been set up" proceeded by disconnection. At this point, I'd normally give up but I have a 3 year old that wanted spaghetti and I wanted him to eat so off we go for a face-to-face order. The inside is small with just a few tables (visible from the front) and a bar. There was a single table occupied and I asked the front staff member if I could place an order to go. After some thought, the employee said she had to check with the newly hired kitchen staff so they wouldn't be overwhelmed- it's 5pm on a Wednesday with only one patron but ok, I wait patiently. I mentioned the online ordering wasn't working and learned that was intentional as the staff gets overwhelmed with orders so they turned the online feature off. I then mentioned there was not an answer on the telephone and was told they don't answer the phone until a specified time. I'm a bit annoyed but already there so the kitchen agrees to make my order, I pay, then get directed to walk next door to the sushi place to pick up, yes, the sushi place. Sure, I again oblige. Back to the good news, the food is delicious. We had: Pappardelle alla Bolognese with spicy sausage, Penne alla Rustica (was spicy and so rich in flavors), the Spaghetti con Polpette (Speghetti and meatballs) and Insalata Capricciosa for about $80. We ate everything! My 3yo ate the adult size Speghetti too so all in all this is worth the good eats. 5 stars for the food. Minus a star for not updating the website or phone recording to help patrons looking for Togo orders.

Great service, people, drinks and food. The chicken Parmesan was excellent. We needed some home style food in the middle of our travels.

Quaint and romantic. I had the best salad ever there! Traditional Northern Italian, comes with potatoes, but ask for pasta if you prefer.

The chicken marsala is pretty good. The soup is awful. Was a bowl of grease. The free bread is just ok.

The space is less than 6 feet wide but about 50 feet long, yet they seamlessly dance around each other as they reach for this, turn to do that. It is a ballet honed over time and repetition. Fulfilling orders and requests in an efficient joyful choreography. Alex and Ricky, best friends, mixed and shook and stirred and poured in a constant motion that became a blur! Grey and Taylor the hardworking bar backs who not only took care of the basic needs, but anticipated next needs and just handled it added to the performance in and out as time and needs prescribed. All of the patrons lucky enough to get a bar seat absorbed the energy for a collective elation. Best show ever!

The fixed menu was good but there were some regular menu items I would have liked to try more that were not available. Btw, there were other families with kids there as well so we did not feel like we were crashing a couples night. My mushroom pasta was delicious but I would probably not order again, it was extremely mushroomy which is not what I usually go for. Still glad I tried it, as it wasore appealing than the other options. The caprese salad was my favorite, large portions and beautiful presentation. The caesar salad was well done and tasted homemade. My Italian old fashioned was *amazing*! The steak and mashed potatoes were cooked well. The included prosecco was a nice touch but I didn't drink it, it gives me a headache. There was a kids menu and they enjoyed their butter noodles. The dessert options were good, a bit uninspired: strawberry cannoli and blueberry cheesecake. As someone who typically detests cheesecake, this was excellent. Had less of that gross cream cheese texture I despise and more like a pound cake texture. Ambience was classy and they had lots of holiday decor and photo ops. Attentive service. Would go again.

The wait for a table was a bit longer than I expected, but once I sat down, the food more than made up for it. I started with the Baked Meatball Grinder as an appetizer. The meatball itself was tender and flavorful, but the baguette was on the tougher side, which made it a little hard to bite into. Still, the taste of the meatball carried the dish. For my main course, I ordered the Bolognese with Salmon as my protein, and this ended up being the highlight of the meal. The pasta was cooked just right, the salmon was perfectly prepared, and the wagyu beef sauce tied everything together beautifully. Honestly, if I was not so full, I could have easily gone for another plate. Overall, this place is a good choice in Durango if you are in the mood for hearty Italian comfort food. I will definitely be back the next time I am in town.
